  • If I was with my friend in the woods at night and heard that howl, I'd probably s**t blood in my pants!

  • werewolfs r epic

  • i think vampires r gay emos..

  • PO MEU O FIME FOI PASSSADO PARA BLUE RAY FICOU MUITO DA HORA

  • a vampire could have kicked that wolfs ass but thats just me :)

  • The scene with the full moon revealing itself slowly in the sky was later reused in Michael Jackson's "Thriller" music video. Now I see how did his famous short film come to be.

  • Oh, I really enjoyed watching this. The actors are brilliant!!

  • I liked the movie but... If the villagers could so easily kill the werewolf that night, why couldn't they have killed it before and been rid of it? If a gun works, why draw a pentacle on the wall for protection? Why are the villagers so afraid? What's to be afraid of if you can blow the werewolf away with a shotgun?

  • @jimtrueblue99

    It wasn't in the script.

  • i watch this scene and the full transformation scene when i eat beef jerky or ham or any meat

give me a thirst for bloooood

wich is why i order my steak/burgers so rare that the animals still trying to get away

  • Yeah, i must admit the sound of that werewolf sends shivers down me spine. Its the theme to all my nightmares rolled in to one...

  • why the hell do i keep watching scenes from films that scare me?!

  • I love how in this restoration, they mixed the first howl with the wind sound so you can't be sure what it is. and then there's the sound of thunder.

  • I saw this movie as a child, this scene scares the shit out of me for life.

  • @MyDiabolicoTwin haha me too

  • this scene makes me want to poop

  • It howled first as a dog. Then it roared as a lion. I liked when Jack said "Nice doggy! Good boy!"

  • I agree. This scene gave me the chills.

  • This scene is by far the best of the movie. Really scary!

  • This scene is by far the best of the movie. Really scary!

  • Fenton! FENTON!!! Oh Jesus Christ. FEEENNNTTOOONNN!!!!

  • @SEMAT56 the man had to die hahaha

  • saw this movie when i was 7 or 8 at my aunts then had to walk home with my mum at 9pm and yes there was a full moon, i ran most of the way absolutly shitting myself, it scared the crap out of me and the howl haunted me for years and yes i had 1 or 2 nightmares as well!! still what a class film!!!!

  • @fairclought7 haha bro...i watched this with my father when i was 9..it still scares me now, i think of these clips even before sleeping. funny how i couldnt care less about other horrors, but this one's got something more.

  • I think of myself as a hard cunt but if this happened i'd shit myself

  • Tense!

  • A it is good speacilefftects no it´s real werewolf aaaaaaa

  • Do werewolfs exist?

  • @leafyutube No but retards do apparently.

  • I love this movie.

  • Because when it got shot it turned back into a man!! HELLO!!!

  • Right I did not understand because

  • and you would get a weapon out a long strong stick or steel weapon of some sort just for self defence

  • 1:40 there´s a road behind em , * stick to the road he says * ..... right

and another thing with a wild beast .. howling , if this WAS real , you wouldnt be talking but taking cover and shut the fuck up and highten yr senses , like instinct tells you to do

unless yr strong enough with a weapon with more then 3 people to be able to take it down or scare it away with violence.

but you never START TALKING LOUD !!

only dumb asses who never learned how to deal with danger do this ... naturaly

  • ...it scares me to death!! There is not another werewolf film that works as well as this one! When it comes to good films AGE has nothing to do with QUALITY.

  • ....some thought it was a comedy, a black one. But I think it was real scary!!!!!!

Up against all other modern takes on the werewolf this is definitely the winner. Special Effects and Story!

  • When we look at it today, with this wide range of special effects that people use to make a werewolf, this one may look dull, but back then, it really scared the shit out of everyone, when horror movies used to actually cause horror, not nausea with gore and more gore.

  • anyone know what they use as the howl?

  • @sangways

The howl was the combination of the actual wolf and an elephant, played in reverse.

  • @Watchiya Really?! That howl is Legendary!

  • @Watchiya Xenomorph's from Aliens were done with an Elephant trumpet followed by the roar both 50% faster. Handy things those Elephants. :)

  • @Watchiya Thank you for telling me that the howl was a combination of a real wolf and an elephant played in reverse. PS: I would hate to be Jack, poor walking meatloaf.

  • Haha Heathcliff...love this movie but this part got me anxious when I first watched it.

  • *You really scared me, shit-head!*

  • I remember seeing that movie at the drive-in.Had me on high alert for years to come, lol.THAT'S when horroe movies was great. You could feel the fear-smell it,and taste it.Pure freight-and thats what it was all about. The special effects on this movie are superb, and I think it should be a right of passage for new film producers to take classes like this.Add's a level of pride to dublicate stuff like that.

    Thank you,

    Henry

  • When David looks over to the right , who is the guy that is all Blooder

    it is certainly not Jack!!!

  • @icmequipment It's the human form of the werewolf that attacked them.

  • @icmequipment obviosly it was the werewolf

  • what kind of fuckin dog howls and moves as fast as a werewolf.

  • Amazing Terror Movies times. Now is pure chroma-key without sense.

  • BENTONNNNN!

  • Benton!

  • Tinah 8 anos qdo vi isso pela primeira vez e hj ainda tenho traumas de lobisomem, haahuahuaha!

  • why didn't they just get their guns out? lol

  • @MickeyLove01 what guns??..

  • @TheRaellz Exactly...

  • @MickeyLove01 it's england. did they have a gun ban sometime between the early 80s and the late 90s? otherwise it wouldn't be legal but i don't know.

  • How great that it is so light for them but so dark

  • just superb ! no dramatic music just the knowlege of how feared you would be in this situation!

  • This works because it's exactly how most people would react in a situation like that - no stupid heroics, just a good, old-fashioned "awww fuck!"

  • good boy

  • moors are scary at night

  • I wouldnt go out at night when you hear that howl i would run super fast

  • @Frozencap yeah then you get chased and slaughtered like a lamb.

  • @Frozencap and become a very visible target.

  • nice doggy!

  • One of the 2 GREATEST werewolf movies EVER made. Fuck today's CGI bullshit.

  • best transformation eva

  • Stick to the road--oops.

    He's circling us--aw fuck!

  • I remember watching this when I was like 10 I was so scared lol my dad said I would be but I didn't listen and I watched it lol I should have listened to my dad

  • @holleyoake123

I was 9 years old when I watched this for the first time... it scared me for a long time... I should have listen my parents too .. and even today, I still cant watched werewolf movies... lol

  • @HeretoComment76 lol people really sould listen to there parents

  • one of the greatest horror movies of its time----still love it

  • I never noticed the werewolf coming in from the side before.

  • any ladies want me to hold their hand lol

  • @itzbernie100

No. Why would any lady want you to hold their hand?

  • this movie is the shit

  • @R3sisted but the sequel is just plain shit

  • @BobaFettRules321 agreed :(

  • I have never this scene look so good and sound so good than on the internet like this. amazing.

  • it sonds like a lion

  • "Oh shit David what is that?!" xD

  • i could'nt sleep for years cause of this movie

  • @84yahaira

    Yeah, right..

You could sleep just fine, so stop lying.

  • 2:33 CHEESE IT!!!

  • That howling sound is certainly terrifying. According to The Internet Movie Database the sound effect was created by mixing the howl of a real wolf and the roar of an elephant.

  • Poor wolfs they were wiped out in britain and we have made them look evil when we are worst than them

  • @MonTheBiff97 Agreed. No other species is as brutal as the human species. Almost makes me ashamed to be human.

  • Why is this video shown in reverse ie. reflection. It also sounds very slightly slowed down. Their voices sound deeper.

  • Specifically the scene at 3:18, yeah, that messed me up when I was a kid. Well done, writers.

  • Classic movie, something special about it.

  • Oh, no: What's up with 3:20? D:

  • @StreCat Its the driver that dropped them off at the crossroads, in the beginning of the film.

  • @VansenandWellsCo Ah wow, It seems I'd totally missed that detail (or forgot about it).

  • Yes, classic

  • Yes, classic

  • Ah ooooooooooooooo werewolves of london.

  • eu morria de medo desse filme nossa qdo era crianca kkkkk

  • top quality vid,cheers

  • opppps is right! run like the wind...scariest movie i've seen!

  • God, I forgot how good that movie was... DG

  • David y Jack...Guapos!!

  • This movie pretty much ruined camping for me.

  • This scene still scares the shit out of me 20+ years later.

  • oops. oops! You shit head. m pretty sure you can tell the difference between gravel beneath ur feet and grass

  • is this the dvd version...i have the original vhs version and the colour isnt nearly a bright as this

  • @grinchy29 I have the DVD and the sounds and colour is not nearly as good as this

  • "oops" ya BIG oops!

  • You would have to raise the complete film, if you can, thanks for your time.

  • man tht wolf is aggressive wen its biting the crap outa jack

  • Probably one of the best horror scenes ever shot on film

  • This scene is still scary as shit! That howel is bone chilling! Mj loved this movie too and thus we had another classic, Thriller. The red bubble jacket reminds me of mj

  • That werewolf was, and still is, one of the scariest things ever on tv. For it to be the early 80's and look that great, AMAZING! It was way ahead of its time. The only werewolf I have seen to look better would be William from Underworld Evolution, my opinion of course. He was amazing! Still though, even William didn't look as creepy as this guy lol. As far as howls, American Werewolf in London has everything beat. The sound is like an evil wolf howl mixed with someone screaming in pain!

  • Just that simple howl used to keep me up for hours at night when I was a kid! ... Im 19 now, and it still gives me the chills!

  • @M1K3C15 fucking right??!! im 18 and that howl was the fucking scariest thing, if i heard it, it would keep me up all night!! I was scared shitless!!

  • @LadyIIGaga Haha Im glad I wasnt the only one then! lol

  • @M1K3C15 what would you do if you were locked out of the house at night and you heard that same howl?

  • @wwejheaton Fucking cry like a bitch! lol

  • @M1K3C15 lol i wouldn't blame you

  • @wwejheaton Smash the window, get in, barricade myself in the kitchen, where I have knives and fire (from the cooker).

  • Yeah that howl is fucking brilliant.

  • Nearly 30 years later and this still kicks ass! the moors scene haunted my childhood lol! That howl is terrifying! The effects were unreal for its time and it still looks amazing!!

  • Bueno las balas con las que mataron a Este Hombre Lobo eran de Plata, o que???

  • Esta ecena me gusta mucho porque me imagio el horror que se sentiria al estar siendo perseguido por un Werewolf!!!!

  • Makes me jump 2:57!

  • Am I the only one who thinks it looks more like a bear than a wolf?

  • bahahahahahaha.....its circling us! what should we do? keep walking....lalalala....

Bad acting. I wud be like, shit, shit, shit, shit!!! grab a stick or something, and keep walking!! fuuuccck!!

  • I watched thsi shit when i was 8 yrs old. my mom tells me(cause im assuming from shock i dont recall) i walked in the kitchen after this scene ghost white shaking and crying. this movie fucked me up really bad. That is a testament to what real horro movies should do to a child!!! fuck all this final destination crap! we need more movies that give kids nightmares and our parents depleted bank accounts cause they took us to the shrink for evaluation! i couldnt watch this movie for years!!!!

    "Oops*

    LOLZ!!

  • it looks like a bear..

  • filmed at Hay Bluff.... yay

  • Awesome movie. This part used to scare the shit out of me when I was a kid.

  • O my .. I've just realized something I hadn't earlier ... the two idiots were so busy acting snarky with each other after hearing the initial howl that they were actually heading INTO THE DIRECTION of the Wolf instead of away from it! It's only after the growling got nearer and more ominous that they changed direction ... too late by then!

  • i first saw this movie when i was 15 this scene still makes me jump behind the couch!!!!! plus if you look carefully jack (the victim mysteriously loses his clothes lmao

  • @MsTicklemesilly

Jack, "the victim", does not lose his clothes...

the naked bleeding man is the dead werewolf back into human form

    imao

    Great movie, bye

  • @MsTicklemesilly the naked man that u see bleeding is actually the werewolf. not jack. you can clearly even see the gunshot wounds.

  • Why'd they have to kill the more likable character?!

  • @BriBri897 You should ask yourself why they had to infect the main character in 28 Weeks Later?

  • @seanpatrickcain2 I haven't seen that movie, is it any good? :)

  • @BriBri897 Be-awesome!
