  • Is that a Milt Sparks Summer Special 2 IWB holster that Clint is using & showing here for the 1911 gun.?

  • @COYOTE165A Believe it is.

  • Nice video. Know your rights!

    More guns less crime

  • I have a S&W MP9. Do you think a person needs to invest in a gun belt? If so do you have any suggestions?

  • can you help me conceal the rpg i carry for self defense? thanks in advance

  • Sign petition to pass nation wide shall issue concealed carry go to the link on my page to sign.

  • antbody know what model revolver he and his wife were demoing in the start of the video?

  • @1911sa Well, in the beginning where it's just Clint he has a Thunder Ranch Special, but those look like Taurus revolvers to me, one of the scandium models with the off-color cylinder.

  • I REALLY like Clint Smith. I want to take his Defensive Handgun class. But they are ALL BOOKED for the next year....yikes!

  • lol loving the fanny pack holster

  • Thanks for your info,sir.

  • Remarking on the restaurant scene, I would not sit in a chair with arms if I could possibly help it. Thoughts?

  • @ethunderburdman I would like to know where Clint Smith bought that nice jacket that he's wearing in the restaurant scene in his video.? It looks great for CC.?

  • How do u carry a 1911? Loaded, Safety etc.

  • @cenochs cocked and locked with one in the chamber is the only way

  • Raptor hands

  • why do you cover your stomach or chest during draw?

  • @gagongromy he's just positioning his left hand in the right position , so he can have the left hand support the right hand when he's moving the gun up in firing position.. You'll get a faster and straighter aim if you have the left hand helping out from down at the holster to up at full aim with target "locked".

  • @gagongromy he's just positioning his left hand in the optimal position , so he can have the left hand support the right hand when he's moving the gun up in firing position.. You'll get a faster and straighter aim if you have the left hand helping out from down at the holster to up at full aim with target "locked". If the left only joins at the up high position.. you are loosing time to steady the aim... In life or death situations.. every little bit of time helps you stay alive.

  • .........." I will probably not be in a hurry to holster it, another thing is, I'm pretty sure I'm done eating lunch". That was hilarious. Nice stuff brother. Thanks for the vid.

  • 1:58 "revolver or pistol"

Isn't a revolver a pistol? How could he have said this to be correct?

  • @sabaths1fan A revolver has a revolving cylinder of bullets whereas a pistol has a vertical-feed magazine of bullets.

  • @indyschmidt But technologically a revolver is a pistol, right? Isn't pistol just a synonym for handgun?

  • @sabaths1fan

no pistol is the name of vertically feeded handguns.

and revolver is the name of rotationally feeded handguns.

  • @alexicon89 You're wrong, the definition of pistol is "a firearm designed to be held and fired with one hand." Revolver - Auto, it doesn't matter. They are both pistols.

  • @daffyduckhunt

odd since its a pleonasm then and you fire a pistol with 2 hands else you aren't being optimally effective imo.

And what i said isnt wrong if you just change the word pistol to what-ever you call a semi-automatic vertically feeded handgun then.

    since revolvers arent vertically fed.

  • @alexicon89 Try using a dictionary. Not only on pistol but also on pleonasm. Pleonasm is defined as "the use of more words than are required to express an idea" Pistol is one word that describes "a firearm designed to be held and fired with one hand." I have no idea what what you are getting at in your second paragraph. You were wrong, just get over it and move on.

  • @daffyduckhunt

Fuck it w/e dude, you don't even understand what im trying to say so nvm wont even waste more energy on some1 who can't even understand the simplest things.

  • @alexicon89 Thanks, you've made a fool of yourself so far anyway. Have a nice day.

  • @daffyduckhunt I checked the Merriam Webster definition of a pistol and it stated, "a handgun whose chamber is integral with the barrel." Revolvers do not fit this definition. To my knowledge, only Commonwealth nations use pistol as an all encompassing term for handguns. Really, this is just arguing over definitions, and I will say that you are not necessarily incorrect, however Clint in the video was justified in making a distinction between revolvers and pistols.

  • @cricketjazzclub You quote the only place that has that sole definition about the firearm. Revolver, semi-auto and bolt-action describe the action type, they are all pistols by definition. I understand why Clint said it the way he did, but alexicon89 was responding to someone and gave them the false info. People slang pistol to mean a semi-auto pistol, but if someone asks the true definition, then it is false to say a revolver is not a pistol. Screw it, who cares.

  • @sabaths1fan Yes, a revolver is a pistol. Revolver describes the action type.

  • I love that green jacket. Where did you get and whats the name of it?

  • good instructional video. I'm going to view more of these.

  • i guess you use the way to pull your gun from the holster in restaurant when you have a 100$ bill for a fried potatos and a chicken steak :D:D

  • soo its like u need a gun to survive in USA wow thats fed up actually

  • @GamingTard

It was hard for me to understand your comment due to the lack of grammar and proper word choice.

No you do not need a gun to survive in the USA. However, when there are shootings like the one in Blacksburg VA (April 16, 2007) where the lunatic killed 32 people it could have been stopped much earlier if SOMEONE was armed and able to stop the madness instead of allowing it to continue. Perhaps 32 people wouldn't have died that day.

  • man..... i'm not playing poker with u.

    xD

but to be honest, i do not believe in carrying out guns in public.

ppl are prone to overreact so something that could be ended by talking

could end up with someone dying.

however, i do think that ppl should go through a series of tests proving mental

stability and reliability and if passed, licensed for concealed carry.

  • At 2:19 the problem is that I, and many others, consider the attire way overdressed. In any nice place we will take our jackets off - and here in Florida we probably won't be wearing long pants. It's something to consider.

  • im probably done eatin lunch.

this guy mad me laugh my ass off with that comment. clint smith rules!

  • Peaceful Society is an Armed Society!!!!!!

  • @cjkleocjkleo Peaceful is a democratic society with no powerty, NO ILLEGAL INMIGRATION, and quick response police. But that never happens. Spain was a peaceful country in which there were merely hunting shotguns and now we are full of third world inmigrants who have destroyed our standar of living. Today we need to protect ourselves but we have no right to own self defense fireguns.

  • Do you ever instill in students that the firearm is ALWAYS the last resort & most scenarios (armed robbery) the best response is to comply? Because I notrice some eople on Youtube perpetuate a myth that any gun owner can shoot three armed men in less than five seconds & a host of other myths.

  • before soneone considers a firarm AT ALL they should already KNOW its the last resort, and further more will be tought so during any training they officially recieve to be able to carry the weapon consealed. Clint is simply helping with tips and ideas to build on what you should already know, incase you ever do need to use that last resort. : )

  • @VinnyS914 If u comply u die (it's that simple). Consider this,

If bad guys find it necessary to use their weapons to break the

law on good people, why should those same people be com-

liant victims 2 hoodlums that are a) 2 lazy 2 work legit jobs, &

    b) hurt/kill people because they enjoy it? We should b non-

    violent w/those who r non-violent w/us. But we will not b

    non-violent w/any1 who is violent w/us ("Malcolm X"). I'm just

    sayin...

  • @qaomowale I made a video "How To Survive An Armed Robbery Fact vs. Fiction Parts 1 & 2." Here's the truth. If someone ONLY wants money GIVE IT UP.I worked in a Dept Store & a Super market #1 rule is DON'T BE A HERO. They literally tell it to you like that.If you act like you're an action hero you're gonna get inocent ppl killed.Only a Navy Seal with THOUSANDS of hours of traning has the ability to fight of more than two robbers.Even if you think there's one robber there might be more hidden.

  • @VinnyS914 So, if an armed guy comes into the store, how do I know that he only wants money? I agree, money isn't worth dying over, but when he puts a gun in your face, it's not about the money any more.

  • I guess I'm an old fashion marine. I carried a 1911 in the corps . I don't think you can go wrong.

  • Mr smith is speaking from experience as a marine , lawman, and instructor. There are trade offs with smaller weapons. Things like sight radius. The longer sight radius the more it helps accuracy. Smaller weapons have control issues. Smaller calibers have knock down issues. Like he says if your betting your life at arms length you want the biggest gun. There's something to be said about a slow moving big bullet like the 1911.

  • Sorry, But carrying the biggest gun possible is rediculous and stupid....You should carry something compact that you can shoot accurate and that is not to heavy....Carrying a full size 1911 i dont think it the brightest idea...

  • I'm going to have to disagree here. Making a decision about what to carry based primarily on the size of the gun is ridiculous and stupid. What you carry should be based on what you trust to be accurate, reliable, and effective. It should also be a weapon that you are proficient with (expert with would be better). For myself and MANY others, the weapon that fits that description is my full size 1911.

  • agree to disagree!

  • larger guns often have these three things, Larger calibur, more rounds, and better accuracy because of a longer barrel, now personaly, i would get the laegest gun i can easily hide so that i get all three of those perks.

  • If you can conceal it and don't mind the weight why not?

  • You weren't listening very well. He said the biggest gun YOU WILL CARRY. He didn't say the biggest gun possible. A .22 in your pocket beats a .45 at home. It boils down to what you will CARRY. But on the subject of the biggest gun possible, I'll say this: If you're every involved in a shooting, I'll bet you change your mind. If you survive it you will probably realize the foolishness of carrying small guns and limited ammo. I carry two guns and a spare mag everywhere I go.

  • @GunRights4US

I dont think thats right at all.....I think small guns are great.......Something like a SR9 with 17 rounds.....A Glock compact or sub compact even hold 12-15 rounds......I think a full size 1911 is to big....something glock 17 size or smaller.....I do think revolvers with 5-6 shots are good.....but if you run out, your stuffed...and speed loaders arnt that quick....Would prefer a compact or sub compact SR9 or Glock that carrys atleast 9 rounds...

  • The biggest gun "YOU" would carry is alot different from the biggest gun "Someone else" would carry.

  • @gshdrums I carry a full size 1911 and believe me, it's slide and frame width are narrower than many modern guns like the Glock or XD. And it's WIDTH that is the key dimension for concealability. Barrel length is a non issue with an inside the waistband holster. With the right holster, a full size 1911 will disappear under a T shirt.

  • Clint Smith rules.

  • i love ur vid u help make it so much easyer to chose a gun an what kinda holster

  • Great vid. as usual. Hmmm... looks like some of that was filmed at the Fremont...

  • Glock 27 makes a lot of this easy.

  • what do you mean?

  • As opposed to full sized autos like the 1911 or Glock 17/21/22, the shorter barrel of guns like the Glock 26 and 27 make drawing at a table less complicated.

Drawing from the holster takes slightly less range of motion also with the shorter barrel.

There are also more options for concealment for shorter barrel guns like pocket holsters.

  • ahh! I see what you are saying. I just hate the chunkyness of the 27. Its just so uncomfortable long term. you could go with a compact 1911? That way, it'll keep the trim single stack package and have the same range of motion as the 27 or 30.

  • Well, a larger gun is easier to shoot.

Also, keep in mind that the issue with size lies in grip size much more than length, or even width. This is the part that sticks out of the most with 1911 variants, and it can jab you in the rib or print through your carry clothes.

But, go too far, and you get the G26 grip size, where your fingers are left hanging, and the pistol becomes a paint to fire.

  • Hmmmm... Filmed in the dining room at the Fremont, wonder how he managed that...

  • ha i was thinking the same thing. i wonder if they made clint sighn that paper stating that he won't clean his guns.

    good old clint

headed back in april. cant wait

  • Excellent video!

  • "I doubt I'll be in a hurry to holster"

I love clint smith he always has something funny to say

  • At first I thought that everything he was saying was such common sense. How would it be useful? Then I remembered how uncommon common sense is. All new gun owners should get a set of these DVDs.

This is a very good, quick explanation. I like it.

  • thank you for posting this. i have not shot a pistol yet but i have shot many rifles and shotguns. i am very interested in getting a pistol, just for target shooting because i am only 15, i really like how the 1911's look so i am thinking that i may get one of those.

  • Thanks for sharing...

  • Thanks for posting.

  • Now I just have to wait for the Supreme Court rule I can own, let alone carry in CHICAGO! God may this happen soon!?!

  • @k1111117 best option is move to a republican state

  • @k1111117 Your wish came true today my friend. Congratulations. Carry safe, carry often.

  • @k1111117 in a SMALL sense I can feel what oppressed people who have been liberated feel like! Yesterday was an emotional high like I haven't felt in a LONGGGG time. thanks for all the support my fellow freedom loving YouTubers!!!! If I live to the day that conceal or open carry is allowed in Chicago--now that would be surreal :-))))))

  • @k1111117 It just did.

  • @k1111117 I live right outside Chicago, I feel your pain. I cant wait for the day I can carry my Beretta

  • @k1111117 I feel bad for Illinois... now it's the only state without concealed carry.

  • damn!!!! I want a 1911!!!!
