No offense to Don Murray, intended, but the show was soo much better when he left,Karen was this dynamic strong woman and she needed someone who was her equal.Sid was nice but often naive, Abby[his sister] of course christened him' Sid the saint'.Lee and Dobson were a perfect match!
Ok i'm out of the loop here and waiting for season 3 to be released.....Sid died in the car accident ?/? Can someone out there either tell me where to get it or something ???? Thanks
That was so shocking when Don Murray's character died on the operating table ! Michelle Lee walking down that narrow long hallway in the hospital, alone, in shock, devastated, was so powerful ! They don't make em like this anymore.
This was the Last year of the so called ''old school Knots'' or seasons 1 thru 3, once Gary ''left'' Val and inherited Millions from his ''Dallas'' family ( Jock Ewing's death and reading of the will in Fall 1982 ) -- the show changed it's format up to that time, Gary moved in with Abby and they ( Gary & Abby) moved OUT of the neighborhood into a beach house and other ''outsider'' characters were brought in like Ciji and Greg Sumner...
True. If Don Murray had been given an "Also Starring" or "Special Guest Star" status in the opening scenes, the audience would have realised straight away that something wasn't quite right.
jgraefe1 Exactly right! With Don Murray in the credits, we thought for sure he would survive the accident. Falcon Crest should have had Susan Sullivan in the credits at the beginning of the 9th season. This way we would have been more shocked when she drowned at the end of the first episode of that season.
Does anyone have the full episode or the episodes leading to his death???

I wonder if the producers of ANY show on the air could keep a secret
such as killing off a character or having a new character added
I remember how suprised my mom and grandmother were when Roger came back on GL.

Don Murray was in the movie Endless Love with Brook Shields and it did very
well in the box office and he thought he could re-establish his movie star
status. The thing is, if it was today, he could do both, the show and films.
Back then it was hard to do.

That was so clever to keep Don Murray in the credits so at the end of the 2nd episode you were like "What!"

I like that kinda stuff, shows need to be more risky and surprising for the audience
