Streisand was reported saying that she had conquered any remaining fears of live performances and negotiations were under way for 2 Western Europe concert dates (you can be sure London will be one if not both these) as well as dates in Russia and China. (It is had to reconcile her image as rabid liberal with her desire to perform in such undemocratic countries. Maybe she harbors a secret admiration for these regimes.)

You know that doesn't apply to Streisand. She's for democracy, freedom and human rights. If she does, Barbra will visit those countries to inspire not to support totalitarian situations. That's why she fights Bush and his crazyness.

Marcos, I don't think you are right; she has previously said she won't sing in Germany as they are such fascists etc., yet she is happy to sing in the most evil communist regimes where there is no respect for liberty. Also, as I recall, her film "Üp the Sandbox" was a flirtation with Castro and his regime. She seems a wingnut, i.e. left liberal. But she sure could sing, especially in her 20's.

Every thinking human being is qualified. That's basic for democracy. So, Streisand, as someone who reads, travels, gets to know other parts of the world and has met numerous State heads is more than able to discuss politics. Nobody needs to be an expert to talk about politics. Almost everything in life is politics: The way you speak, the clothes you wear, the people you support, the presents that you give each Christmas etc.

Logic shows that uneducated people, normally, can't pay for Barbra's concets. Any poll can show that Streisand's concert goers have more knoledge than Usher's, Lil'Kim's, Emenem's or who knows who else.

You obviously confuse money (and extortionist ticket prices that Babs charges) with education. Anyway, I doubt you would find many Yale or Harvard graduates among her audience. They prefer serious music and serious experts on politics and other topics Babs is ill-qualified to pontificate on.

Wanting to perform doesn't mean supporting the government or administration. It means promoting and sharing culture while making money for good causes.

Myself and my wife flew over from England to see Babs at this concert(we were 6 rows from the front!).We thought as we'd never seen her live & we were flying over 3000 miles to see her,we'd better get the best tickets we could!Once in a lifetime chance and boy was she worth every penny!!!
