  • Happy Birthday, Frankie Avalon!

  • Well, I got quite inspired today.....a dog is a dog is a dog is a dog.

  • This was my favorite song as a little boy. Since then, I have learned how the world really is and on top of it all, I have overcome meth amphetamines and gave birth to my own self here in this.......room. If you are like me, I offer my deepest sympathy and I'm telling you right now, you are here for a reason and I hope this song will inspire you. Now, get inspired.

  • or how about, Copperflats?

  • OMG!! A turntable!! I haven't seen one in many, many years (and by that, I mean the last one I saw was in the 80s)!!!

  • wow its even the same record as the one they used in dexter

  • Eerie

  • Thanks for the post.

  • got any copies left?

  • A #1 hit for Frankie Avalon in the spring of 1959. FA could be considered as one of the early teen idols. Another one could be the late Ritchie Valens. God only knows what an impact he would have made had he lived.

  • Those days are gone forever :(, but the music will live on forever! Don't we wish we could turn back the clock?!

  • I may have been born in 1978, but my mom always told me that I was an "old soul". I grew up listening to oldies and I still collect records to this day.

"Venus" is the song I always sing at karaoke! :)

    Thank you for sharing!

  • Hey penis Oh Penis

  • @ChiDynasty12 "What happened to her?"

    "She died."

"Well, if you want, you can call me Arthur."

"Really? You'd let me do that."

"Sure. Now why don't we play trains a little more and then you can take me home."

"Just promise you'll always remain innocent like you are now."

    "Sure..."

  • olá, Dexter Morgan.

  • Dexter :) I'm still shocked about the ending, can't wait for season five!

  • Another great oldie from a time when music was at it's best 1957--1962

  • I bought this song on an oldies CD and was playing it in my car. My wife was kind of enjoying it and asked me where I got it. I told her it was one of the oldies CDs that we bought for our brother-in-law's birthday about 8 years ago. She said, "You've had these songs all this time and weren't playing them, why? I had to tell her that I do play them, usually when we are not riding together. She said, "Well play them when I'm riding with you from know on". So, I do.

  • first time i heard this song,i'm only 7....what a memories..

  • adinasa..my little daughter..ASHLEY..19 years ago would go to sleep with this beautiful song to have HAPPY DREAMS..I wish you the same. Just do GOOD in school..and ..kinda keep on listening to this..GREAT :"OLDIE" music.....

  • yicken too

  • Thanks for posting this on U tube. It saved me ruining a good UK copy by taking out the center for my juke . Too smooth for me lol.

  • is there anyway possible to get this into a mp3?

  • for sure

  • AAAH! It was my first 45 Christmas 61'

  • When I was driving a limo a few years ago, I had a chance to take Mr. Avalon to and from the airport a couple of times. He's the real deal - as nice as he looks. We're pretty close to the same age and his kids went to the same grade school as I did. And yes, he keeps tabs on his good friend Annette, who has had some tough times. Wishing him and his all the best.

  • That record may be worth more than my car! lol

  • I still have a bunch of Avalon, Rydell and Fabian 45's. My mom's friend worked for Chancellor records and i would get the mislabled records for nothing. Have you noticed how much Frankie Avalon looks like William Shatner these days.

  • I saw him last year some person broke back stage to meet him and they didnt even know he was,Me who was obsessed went back there to find the ppl walking away with autographs I went up to him with a glossy picture from the 50's, which I paid good bucks forand he walked away from me on the back of all his records he talked about how he loves kids i was 12 then I dont even listen to him anymore because the way he simply saw me & my friend BEGGING infront of him and he just walking away..

  • Amazing. I had this Chancellor 45 way back when. Thanks for the post.

  • Brilliant

  • awesome song classic

  • Thanks for the memory of my first girlfriend. We were 15 years old... and that was 47 years ago. Thank you.

  • heh, great video! i actually bought this 45 in the late 80s as a teen, while working PT in high school at Mel's Drive in (of American Graffitti Fame) in San Francisco.

  • Is Mel's Drive In still there today?

  • Oh yeah, Mel's is still in SF--there are 3 locations in SF, but the one on Geary at Beaumont (which re-opened in 1988) is alive and well--i go there often with my nephew.

They also have Mel's in Southern California.

  • hey veeeeeeeenussss oh veeeeeeeeenus

  • I too have an original Chancellor. I can still see the original sleeve, since lost years ago, but having the record in good cond. will suffice! Long live Frankie! and Annette too!

  • That is amazing I found A frankie Avalon Venus Single at a thrift store and it was scrathced so much it would hardly play Thanks for taking good care of such a beautiful piece of musical history.

  • I have an extra original 45 rpm copy of Venus that I am willing to give away if anyone would like to have it!

  • u still have that 45?

  • yes, i do - give me your address and I'll be happy to send it to you - no strings attached, no costs whatever. I just have three copies and am willing to part with one of them. Take care! Mike

  • ok great!! give me an email to send my info to

  • @mcsunka vastardo

  • I hope you have an insurance...

  • OLD IS GOLD

  • Thats awesome! Shes in good Hands.

Take good care of that Darling ;)

    Greetz from Germany.

  • Awesome! A girl with all the charms of you... how sweet is that!? Help me, Venus, what a sentiment. Venus has helped me find someone!

  • I love this song! isn't it in Barbarella? you're my sweet hobo xx

  • I am stupid, so I don't know what Barbarella is. SOund slike an opera, but I don't know what it has to do with Venus, unless that is a character in Barbarella. On 70's tv schlock, Scientologist John Travolta played a character named Barbarino.

  • Barbarella was an erotic 'sci fi' classic of the 60's starring Jane Fonda, very provocative and sensual, one of my fave films...you're so funny
