  • THE BEST DRUMMER EVER

    NO ARGUMENT

NOT GONNA GET A GUY LIKE MIKE IN A WHILE

    I WAS THERE

  • I was there, OMG, how does he hit that cymbal that fast with one hand, genius :D

  • Imagine the shit Dream Theater is gonna do with him on the next album...damn!

  • I was there, it was a great show.

  • Mike is THE best drum technician on the planet - surpassing even Lang and Donati - but Marco and Vinnie are still the best musician "super-chopsters" out there. Close third place though, isn't this guy GREAT?!

  • Mangini seems like two different people almost; super chill, slightly flamboyant fellow as a person, but behind the kit, one of the beastliest, most intense people alive.

  • I have no doubt in my mind that Mike Mangini was the best choice for the band at this time. He gets more and more comfortable and kickass every show. It's obvious that that his band mates are inspired by him too.

  • I WAS THERE THAT NiGHT :-D

  • Hottest thing at a gig ever.

Definitely in my good times memory bank ;)

  • Best drummer in the world. By some distance too.

  • The guy is just inhuman. Good Lord.

  • Mike like Mike

  • This was an amazing night, I look forward to seeing them again.

  • Great sound on the VDO, thanks for sharing. I am just waiting to hear his contribution with Dream Theater on the next couple of albums. I am sure he was a bit gun shy for his first outing.

  • Ridiculous. He seems to get better every night.

  • A-MAZ-ING!

  • Better than any Portnoy solo i've seen but nowhere near as enjoyable as Minnemann.

  • @imjackcooper Minnemann is much better in my opinion.

  • @gigman74 Minnemann doesn't have shit on this guy. A class apart.

  • @kamikaze90watermelon With regards to "interesting" drum patterns, Marco wins!!

  • @gigman74 I find them about equally interesting to be honest, they have different styles though. I love Minnemann but I think Mangini was a better choice for DT.

  • @gigman74 Dudes, as to interesting it is all up to taste.... As to knowledge, skill and speed from an objective (kinda..) stand point it is a different story. Mangini is better than all of them. And also, to my view, has more interesting although very different patterns going on! But then again that is MY taste..

  • @nengstro I couldn't care less if mangini plays a pattern left handed/footed or plays a rhythm with one hand where most can only play it with two... It's about the sound on the CD for me, the composition. Lets see what the new CD brings, or maybe the one after that!

  • @gigman74 New CD really isnt going to test what Mangini is going to sound like with Dream Theater. He didn't write any of the drums on this CD, the rest of the band wrote them in a drum program and were like "Hey, is this possible for you to do?" and he did. I'd say whatever CD comes after this, will be a true show of his ability when he actually gets to write.

  • @gigman74 ...drummers hit things...
