My son and I stayed there in December 2006. It was wonderful to be so close to the Bright Angel trailhead. We went again last Thanksgiving (2009) and stayed at Maswick, and lucked out that as we were coming out of the canyon after three nights on the South Kaibab - Bright Angel loop, we caught the shuttle bus; we weren't in any mood to hike that quarter mile from the rim to our hotel. It's great to be so close to the rim.
Nice video. I was thinking of staying there next April - May. It's cool that you're so close to the rim but I will try and reserve a room with a shower though.
I was also told that deer sometimes slept right out of your window!
