People scoff at the idea of world peace, but look at New Year's Eve/Day, it's so beautiful. The whole world gets together and for one night it's nothing but joy and happiness. Makes you sad that we can't be like that to each other all year round, but beautiful because it shows you it's possible.

The two things which stand out in this collection: ONE - How much less the crowd was into it when comparing the changeover to 2001 and 2002, thanks to September 11th. TWO - Dick Clark being in full spirits with the changeover to 2004. Of course, he suffered his stroke that year, which was why Regis Philbin filled in for him.

lol, kinda funny watching these old ones...i remember as a kid throughout the 90s, every year it seemed like the production got bigger and better, and by the late 90s it was huge

1996 was so different cause the ball had twinkles in it, and the font for the date was updated

and now looking back at them, and comparing them to the production they put on today, its no where near that lol

also funny looking back at alot of the ones before the mid 90s where they were off by a few seconds lol
