I think it is possible, possibly. I believe you have to synthasise it, so you could have it at anytime after a certain point if you have the abbility to synthesise it.

i hate crap amvs, but i make mine extra carefuly.

i listen to the song 3 times and then go through which of my shows/movies/games that i have fit.

then i watch the scenes 5 times, listen to the song 2 more, and then make a schematic of what scenes fit with what lyrics or melodies.

while i put it together, i work it one line at a time, and rewatch it each time I add a clip.

i try to make my videos fit rather than throw a bunch of clips to a song that makes no sense.
