this may sound dumb but what is the difference between "san' and "chan" for example Satako is sometimes refered to as "Satako-chan" and Satako-san". and Keiichi was refered to as "Maebara-Cue" or something. I remember the teacher calling him that. what does it mean? thx

its just abit like mr. in english you can call someone john or you can call him mr. john
and the maebara is kun which is normally referring to boys in a friendly manner
