  • It took 1 minute and 27 seconds to get t the other side and you call that fantastic? Well try any nissan 4X4 then see the results.

  • Best 4x4 x ffffaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • crappy articulation...Land Cruisers are better.

  • @dannomitey You have no Idea what you are talking about. the only way a cruiser would get over this would be with a big winch . The new landrovers are so far ahead of toyota in technology .

  • @PKKD1 Errr... do you own either of these vehicles? Or are you only youtube educated?

  • no way! -I'm impressed!

  • Is this supposed to be impressive?

  • just floor it you pussy. Haven't you ever played Grand Theft Auto

  • @mpcollector No limited-slip diff

'05-'09 Discovery 3/LR3 and '10- Discovery 4/LR4 have open front & rear differentials standard, using 4-wheel ABS braking to transfer torque side-to-side. A infinitely-variable electronic locking center differential is standard, to transfer torque front-to-rear, controlled by Terrain Response, the driver cannot lock/unlock the center differential at will. An electronic locking rear differential is optional, and if equipped, also controlled by Terrain Response.

  • Could he not have driven round it?

  • @BillDFC why!!!????

  • In Soviet Russia, Land Rovers drive YOU!

  • Land Rover 3 > Porsche Cayenne > BMW X5

    (THUMBS UP if you AGREE!)

  • @Noobury I think I would have to out an LR3 above the Cayenne and X5 - it can opearet far better than those two off road. Lexis, Cayenne, X5 - horrible cars(.)

  • 四輪獨立懸吊能有這種落差, LR實在厲害~~~

  • that was nice!

  • LandRover RULES!!!

  • Impressive! But isn't the Discovery the Rover without a low range? That would mess it up for me! At high altitudes with steep climbs and rocks, you want to go slow but still have the control. Low range is a must of that kind of off-roading.

  • @roynash No mate its the freelander that has no low range.

  • @JKmanglerCRD

Still, no low range only means going slower as far as the baby rover goes. Only ground clearance lets it down. It will get stuck at some point in time, but always past the competition.

  • @josefagocita Actually the freelander 2 has more ground clearence at the A-arms than the LR3 and RR Sport. How Embarrassing. Freelander 2 is actally better in ruts than an LR3 and RR Sport. HaHaHaHa.

  • I had a '02 LR Disco 2 and I absolutely loved that suv, took it off road all the time.. the only problem is there is not a lot of dealerships where I live, and the parts are extremely expensive and it seemed to have some parts mess up on it quite a bit. Sold it at 80,000 miles. Got an Escalade - - Still miss my land rover for sure. Looking to get a LR3.

  • buy a Jeep

  • IF U GO TO MY CHANNEL THERE IS A VIDEO THAT I ADDED TO MY FAVOURITES BECAUSE I REALLY LIKE IT, ITS A LANDROVER GAME THAT I THINK IS VERY VERY GOOD, ESPECIALLY CUS ITS HOME MADE, JUST CLICK ON MY ACCOUNT TO VIEW IT...

  • BOOM!!!!! Goes a shock tower through the roof. xD jk that would suck though.

  • @qwadboy So true, very expensive and go wrong alot. Sold mine and havent looked back since.

  • That is obviously with the suspension lifted to max.

  • ohh

  • the discoverys are built for off road. the reason you guys think they are for "grocery runs" is because people demand suv offroaders have luxury too aswell or they wont buy them. the same thing happened with the jeep cherroke and wrangler, both became bought by people having no attention taking them offroad. getting down and dirty off road, the disco hasnt changed other than getting alot more luxury and electronics, bc people feel they "need" that. the disco4 got best offroader of the year

  • good driver

  • no other suv can do this with such precision

  • wow hahahahahahahaha

  • Красавец

  • coni il blocco del differenziale avanti e dietro si sale una meraviglia.

  • this is too heavy for terrain like this, you need a lada niva or suzuki jimny which would have gone straight over without having to stop , discoveries are only built for shopping malls and school runs really ;-)

  • discoveries are built to go off road hence all the suspention settings on them and if you did anything in a lada it would break down or fall apart

  • @marshalllucky I agree, Discoverys are to heavy and their suspensions are to complex and hard to fix for serious off road driving. A good driver needs only a strong truck with 1 or 2 solid axles and 1 or 2 lockers and not a terrain response system. Systems like this are for people who don`t have off road experience and don´t do that very often. If you need a real off road car a Suzuki Samurai, Jimny, Toyota LC 70, Land Rover Defender, UAZ 469, Tigr or a Jeep CJ, YJ, TJ, JK would be good.

  • Nice driving!

I don't think a Hummer would break in half doing the same thing.

  • weight & balance played a big role here.

  • That was crazy. I bet you'd break a hummer in half attempting that.

Almost thought he was gonna roll it a couple times, great work!

  • i'd like to see s hummer do that! lol

  • good driver, excellent control!

  • russians are the best

  • Landrover most ofvtge time gold the worlds beast 4x4 vehicles. If u can name a better car the the mighty G4 range and the bowler wildcat please place them foward so I can take my view.

  • Humvees. Not the crappy hummers they sell today but the actual humvees.

  • humveeUhahahah... have you tried going on stage skorlid?..Your quite funny. ;-]]

  • I use one of these and I am a gamekeeper in north Yorkshire so it gets used not like 99.9% of people commenting on here who have never drove anything like in a work situation I have never had it stuck and it has never not got me anywhere I need to get to either on shoot days or feeding up fantastic car well done land rover I agree though mine is a manual gear box

  • Thats right. And knowing How to drive it makes all the difference.

  • staged

  • Ja. You can take the Landrover out of Solihull, but you can't take the Solihull out of Landrover. Bless em! ;-]

  • i do have to say that i normally hate landrovers simply because of my past expeiences with maintenace and what nots..this video was impressive. and nice LR

  • Very impressive. However;

-I wonder why he kept stopping? Waiting for the gearbox to engage different gears?

-I am sure that block of concrete was built so the LR3 could just barely make it over.

+1 on seeing other suv's try it.

  • he should have used a manual. it has been proven on top gear that a manual discovery (LR3) is better than an auto off-road and on-road

  • I think that in every 4x4, manualare batter than automatic, if u want the 4x4 use...idk in city. But the clutch let's you do lots of stuff automatic wont.

  • Ughh...so momentum doesn't build and he doesn't flip over. He is in ONE gear, he is not changing gears at 0.5mph.

  • @hbplaya:

You don't have to be stopped for 3 seconds to prevent momentum building up. Plus, he was hardly moving at all when it tipped.

  • magnificient car

  • OO yes girls! These are absolutely perfffect for the Mall. They have a box for our tampons, just like the rodeo and pajero and lovely nipple-erecting obscured glass to hide the fat kids, bless. We tried the Yingtong, the Panchovilla and of course delightful ChainstoremasacreWarrior, in orgasmic black of course darlings but the accountant neighbours have these ho well, boring little suberbia. Anyway girls must dash that sexy builder next door is coming up my alley , I wish! BYE Darliiiiingsxxx

  • @udoUpo hHAHAHHA

  • I fail to see how the video illustrates these cars are only made for shopping malls.

  • isuzu rodeos are tough, but that does not make them good at seriosuly green laning, a Land Rover and Range Rover will carry going not matter what it chucked at it!

Pajeros and rodeos just don't have the electrics and suspension set up to go anywhere.

About the shopping mall cars aswell, Discos are being bought by many parents now, they can still go anywhere tho. But you forget LR also do a Defender, now that will carry on going when the Discos get stuck.

  • @marshalllucky u are dumb or what

  • DBFreely. A fellow connoisseur at last. Few words...infinite wisdom, What is the world coming to I wonder?

  • @udoUpo

D1, D2, and 95 D90 in the house. You are not alone brother.

  • The old discos are better.

  • @DBFreely Better how? These are pretty impressive.

  • @DBFreely better looking, yes. offroad they all do the same, the all go to the end of th world

  • @DBFreely - Having owned a Disco I, Disco II and an LR3 - and taken them off road all throughout Colorado and Utah - I can tell you that the Discos were far less capable stock. With lockers and a lift, perhaps, but way harder to drive, and horrible on the highway... 188HP vs. 300HP on the LR3 and now 375 on the LR4.

  • @DBFreely

Disco 1s perhaps, on merit of their simplicity, but they were hardly viable as a contendor in the modern SUV market. Even then, they're not better off road.

Disco 2s just no, worse in every way.

  • Thats OK if your myopic coldass who is lost and hates cows. Those who want genuine offroaders would crap out any Jap pseudo-craphat so called parttime or othrwise 4x4 anytimymeeeeeeeeeee! or from any other country for that matter why I would take on that piece of shit with my 1962 series 1 land rover....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • All the way! Series/Defender for the way!

  • well to be honest me nd my mum 2 years back drag raced my best friends pathfinder in our land rover discovery td5 landmark across par beach in cornwall and i can tell you it lost it got stuck b4 it left the start line we were the ones who had to drag it out..but i know what your trying to say most discovery drivers in the uk are mothers who ruin the discovery completely but after driving my mums i would never go bak to driving an ordinary car again other cars go first discovery goes anywhere

  • wow i would shit myself maybe

  • nicely done but that looked quite dangerous.

  • @VILLIANMG It's safer than driving on the road because you're supposed to do it very slowly. There are, however, some idiots who ruin everything, try to do something as fast as possible and wreck themselves and their vehicle.

  • Понты.Напичкали электроникой, засунь его в грязь и он с ума сойдет

  • Хороший водитель, респектно )

  • nicely done.

  • that's pretty awesome!!

  • I love this car the way it has real limited-slip.

Many 4*4 cars shown in Youtube are crappy because every time they stuck in mud, only one wheel spins. So they can't get out of mud.

  • i like these cars and have NOTHING against them, THEY ARE GREAT...but it's just when all these mumsys buy them just to drop heir kids off to school (and they live in a city or urban place) it really cheeses me off because they just take up space and when parked cars are on the side of the street, they ake it akward to get past...

  • I don't drive 4x4 but I can't agree. Landrover or any other 4x4 doesn't take more parking space then a regular VW passat. If it is tall and look big it doesn't mean that it needs more then 1 parking space.

  • Лендровер крутая тачила!

    land rover is cool ride!

  • landys are not bad. they work actually quite good. especially for weathers in canada. sit in a land rover and ull just need to look out the window and watch the other cars slip while u are the king of the road

  • Пошли нахуй, ГОНДОНЫ!

  • wow F***ing russians!

  • Yah go land rover...my parents have one!!

  • crazzy russian's

  • that front wheel a meter above the surface is simply cool :) considering also the usability in normal traffic land rovers are really cool off road cars

  • In Canada it was the Discovery until this model came out, which is the LR3

  • WOW i cant believe the wheels didnt slip in that surface! (i think its ice/snow on the road)

  • I want one.

  • even in indonesia the name is Discovery 3

  • these cars are simply awesome

  • I like it but there isn't much travel in that setup and there is a defender in the states it is the NAS defender and they we're only allowed to ship to the USA for one year so they are pretty rare only like 40000 made it across the pond

  • I drive the LR3 just like the one in the video- great handling by that driver. The LR4 is new this year.

  • respect, i can´t do this with my bmw x5. nice vid!

  • test

  • That is ridiculous.

  • wait i am confused.. So Land Rover makes the Discovery then they make the LR 1 2 & 3 Seperate cars right? I am confused do they even still make the discovery?

  • LR is the North American name for discovery. LR 3 means the third generation. In Europe its Discovery 3. Same car, different name.

  • okay from what i am seeing thus far Discovery is not made in North America any more since 2004, or they dont call it Discovery any more so in North Amertica up intil 2004 they had Discovery and after that it was LR?

  • Looks like when the third generation discovery came out they just changed the name for North America. Wikipedia says the Discovery is marketed as the LR3 in North America.

  • Discovery 3 = LR3 (outside of Europe)

Freelander = LR2 (outside of Europe)

  • the defender, freelander, and discovery = lr1, lr2, lr3 just americans that are stupid

  • actually there is no defender in the states.

  • in the united states they have the range rover, range rover sport, lr4, and the lr2. In England they have the freelander 2 (lr2), discovery 4, defender, and range rover, and ranger rover sport

  • No the Discovery is discontinued. The LR3 in the above video took it's place...

  • In Europe the LR3 is called a DISCOVERY.

  • A perfect car and a a very sensible driver. Bravo Russian.

  • Defender is the best!

  • i really want a defender 90 v8.. the coolest car

  • Fuckin best video bra

  • totally awesome , go the landrover

  • Range Rover Sport a good car! I have this car! Earn at scopaysystem point com

  • Last I checked, the LR3 controls it's suspension electronically to simulate having solid-beam axles while offroading, depending on the terrain and whatnot.

  • Please tell me RReVoRR how you can electronically get more suspension travel out of independent suspension, which is the obvious advantage of live axles. You will always have to deal with the limitations of CV axles.

Computers can't simulate live axles, ahhh!

  • The obvious advantage of live axles is that the clearance between the wheels remains constant, the vehicle itself doesn't drop between the wheels.

I never said you could get more travel out of it (though an LR3 does flex quite a bit), I said it simulates having a solid axle (one wheel goes up while the other goes down, the computer adjusts the air suspension on each wheel to do this).

To get more travel than stock requires modification.

I have CV's on the front of my D1, and it's solid axle.

  • i think it was strugling under its own waight abit there...probably down to that the disco 3 has 2 chaises-its alot of extra waight!

  • Try this with a normal Defender without ETC and you will fail. This here is a typicall situation were you need at least one locker at the rear axle, better would be on both axles like Mercedes G has.

  • yea, these things are sick but i like the 03 discovery. My dad is buying me a white 1, ill take tht thing every were and landrover is way better thn anyother of its competitors.

  • give me thumbs down!!

  • excelent video!!

  • i test drove the LR3

    much better i agree

    i must tell you

    very smooth, soft and powerful

  • ouch. all the weight on the one wheel. Cool none the less

  • actually very nice driving...to the novice it doesn't seem like much, but that's quite a handful!! Nice video!

  • jajajaja

  • Does it have proper locking front and rear diffs or does the traction control emulate it by controlling the LSD?

  • for god's sake just jump the bloody thing

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • could mitsubishi pajero do the same? or a land cruiser , or a prado? hm...

  • cool vid. alot of vehicles could do that, but its a good demo for traction control devices. The modern stock vehicles are pretty stout.

  • I don't think the Toureg has air lifted suspension? and I couldn't see a cherokee doing THAT.. well not without rolling over once or twice.

  • Comment removed

  • a toureg does have air suspension,it goes up 11.5 inches,so its one of the few suvs that could do this that easy

  • I can't help but feel that's nothing my 91 Cherokee can't do....

  • lol

  • NO WAY once you got cross axled in a jeep you'd be stuck

  • what about if you have diff locks? Then you'd get over

  • even with diff lock once you were cross axled that is one wheel at either corner off the ground you would loose traction, if you got front diff lock you haven't got a centre diff so would just spin the rear wheel. with a centre diff but no front diff you would spin one front and one rear the two that were in the air

  • I'm talking diff LOCKS not centre diff locks. Most jeeps and other real 4x4's either have no diff lock and locking hubs, or a locking centre diff. Thats not the issue. What I said was, if you had a front or rear diff lock, it doesn't matter if a wheel comes off the ground, If the diffs locked, and the wheel thats on the ground does't slip, the car will move forward.

  • even if you lock the front diffs out ,unless you have a locked centre diff all the power will go to the wheel thats spining,

your front diff MAY be locked but if there is no power getting to it it won't go anywhere so you NEED a centre diff lock too, so the power is split 50% to the front axle and 50% to the rear, if you haven't got a lockable centre diff front diff lock won't help

  • I'd say 90% of 4x4s have a locking centre diff. Or like my suzuki, part time 4x4 with no centre diff at all, which is the same as a locked centre diff. I'm pretty sure all Jeeps have either a locking centre diff or part time 4x4, so if you had front and or rear diff locks in a Jeep you WOULD get over even when cross axled.

  • Ah you may be right I was getting mixed up with

If there is no centre diff you have equal drive to front and back in 4wd so a lockable axle will give you continued drive even if cross axled

If there is a centre diff that can be locked a lockable axle will give you continued drive even if cross axled

If there is a centre diff that can not be locked chances are your staying stuck regardless of having a diff lock

  • Yep, thats what I meant :) You are right tho, if you have a centre diff, and it doesn't lock, then when you get cross axled you aint goin nowhere.

  • jase20vt, you are all mixed up. A center diff supplies the power to both front and rear axles 50/50. But once the power gets to each axle, it takes the path of least resistance. So in this situation if you only had a center diff then the drivers front and pass. rear tire would spin once in the air.
