@kaaremann i am a drummer and i don't think the intro was that terrible because of how hard to hear the kick drum is. the tom and snare fills are there but you just can't hear the bass drum. i'm not defending him as a great drummer, because i dont think he's that great, i'm just saying it wasn't that bad

There were two big problems the faced was excessive substance abuse and the bands external forces involved in destroying the bands internal alliance. Thier 28 month long tour took it's toll on all of them and after the touring stopped in 1993 to make more music, there were alot of differences and reality set in as to what they were going to do from that point and some went and did side projects.

this may come as a shock to u but there are countless devoted fans who recognize that there's extremely talented guys in GNR still & a LOT to love about this band.

GN'R was working on another album not Chinese. The album they were working on is now called The Lost Album of 1996 which had 7 tracks of Zakk on it finished and needed to finish it. Because of slash's drugs and drinking he became self indulgent, didn't care except himself and walked out in late 1996. Axl asked slash many times in 1997 to come back, finish the album and for them to go on from there and slash refused. Not too many years from this time slash almost killed himself.
whats difficult to prove? steven was gone by1990-nowhere did pinkpanther say that he played any part on the lost album which the old line-up of GNR was working on from 94-96 before slash left .
zakk wylde played for a while with GNR in those years because he was being considered as a replacement for izzy. matt & duff have both talked about the lost album &slash's best friend marc canter has confirmed that 7 songs were ready AND that slash got big-headed after the snakepit tour & left GNR.
slash admits in his autobiography that he left in 96 and for 2 years axl tried to get him back. eventually axl moved on which is only natural.
slash has been in 3 bands and EACH TIME he has fueded with his frontmen and attacked them in the media (axl in GNR, rod jackson in snakepit, josh todd and scott weiland in Velvet Revolver). scott weiland has called him a frontman hater.

Izzy left because he couldn't deal with the big crowds and had no idea GN'R then was gonna hit the top. I don't know where you got your info cuz I always knew this.
He sounds great, but you can tell his voice is strained when he sings. Also it is very hard to sing in the cold. It dries your throat and makes it scratchy.
I wish more people understood that comment you wrote so maybe it could be understood what happens when you sing in the cold. I work in the cold and I know how I feel. Without Axl having an oxygen room, heaven forbid, his voice would be gone for sure.

Axl earned the legal right & got sole ownership of the GNR name through Slash & Duff's consent. they were the only other co-owners of the name & therefore the only ones with the right to question this arrangement.
but they chose to enter a negotiated contract with Axl.
Axl has every right to use the GNR name which he acquired perfectly lawfully. he started the band- he's not raiding somebody else's back catalogue.

If you got into this, watch KROQ Inland Invasion with Axl and the New "GNR". There's 1-6. When I watched this concert and the KROQ, I could not leave. I did not want to miss one second of any of these two concerts. I really have to say that I really feel it watching the "New GNR" and Axl. I don't know if Slash will or will not be back. Axl does not seem to be the type to let anyone in his band go for Slash.

GNR played plenty of shows in the US in 2006.
right now theyve announced 13 dates in canada in jan and feb 2010 and then a month long south american tour (march 10th-april 10th in 2010).
the likelihood is that after april they'll head onto europe to do the festival season there in the summer and then do US in the fall.
but it may happen before then so we just need to keep checking.

previously it was called The Blues but Axl changed the name because he thought that a name like The Blues should be used for a more bluesy song.

Axl earned the legal right & got sole ownership of the GNR name through Slash & Duff's consent. they were the only other co-owners of the name & therefore the only ones with the right to question this arrangement.
but they chose to enter a negotiated contract with Axl.
Axl has every right to use the GNR name which he acquired perfectly lawfully. he started the band- he's not raiding somebody else's back catalogue.

I agree with u that slash is overrated but for me its one of the best ones personally i like the feeling he puts into the solos and also that his solos fits pretty good in the song, another thing i like about him is his tone for me that tone is pretty badass. yeah i know he is not the best but he is the one i prefer

Chinese democrasy, is alright for an album, some of the songs are breathtaking, like truley amazing, but then you get others like if the world, which isnt crap, but its a different genre,
however, axl rose has an amzing voice, and the musical talent in that album is amazing,
it is kind of like an axl rose solo project, but theres still a guns n roses feel to it.
axl's got his band, slash has his, everyones happy,
all those who appose, can fuck off.

I have to pull my headset away from my ears at first cause it really blows through my headset like magic ! Alot of the songs being played I have to move my headset because it's loud and crazy, oh yeah ! I have watched all of the Rock Am Ring ! Makes me wish I was there.

If you got into this, watch KROQ Inland Invasion with Axl and the New "GNR". There's 1-6. When I watched this concert and the KROQ, I could not leave. I did not want to miss one second of any of these two concerts. I really have to say that I really feel it watching the "New GNR" and Axl. I don't know if Slash will or will not be back. Axl does not seem to be the type to let anyone in his band go for Slash.
I want to jump through my screen and rock with the crowd !

When you watch KROQ Inland Invation, let me know how you liked it ! I was blown away from that concert and this concert. I have to be honest that watching the old GNR, I wasn't feeling it like I am now !
Knocking On Heavens Door always put chills up my spine, but I actually get goosepimples when I hear it now from the new GNR and Axl ! Truthfully, it wouldn't be GNR if it wasn't for Axl !

slash wasnt even part of the first line-up of Guns N Roses. there was a GNR befre him and there is GNR after him. not accepting it changes nothing. randomly hating this band is your loss, nobody else's.
slash quit. why should axl have ended GNR just because slash didnt want to stay?
Chinese Democracy is an excellent album. axl didnt lose all his talent just because slash isnt with him.
its been 13 years since slash left. move on already.

i agree, the solo's have gotten worse for chinese democracy, but live i dont really see the difference, in my opinion the live sound now is better, Brain plays better drums, and the 3 guitarists give it a more solid sound, but thats just my opinion :P.

Well it's closer to the actual original version of the song. So i don't see the problem, it was different than how they usually play it, and it was terrific. Axl is truly amazing.
