By your sad life logic there would be zero "whackings" in the Sopranos, and it just got that much more boring. Good job on ruining a great show because you insist on reality in a fantasy mob series.

@vk732 ...3 reasons why that wouldn't be possible: 1) Family uninvolved in "the hustle" (as tony refers to it here) are considered civilians and are strictly off limits to put in harms way in the eyes of made men. Both The Rat and Tony are well aware of this rule.

2) Once flipped, a rat will say anything to keep from getting bumped.

@vk732 No, it would not have saved him. Tony would have given him the oppotunity to tell him who the hit was given to in exchange for the guy getting to live, then Tony would have killed him anyway. The old rule of thumb was, if you get told to kill someone and you don't go through with the "work", you are going to get killed yourself anyway.
