  • this is when music was music - will never be duplicated.

  • @ejI1000 Why buy the cow when u can get the milk for free?

  • How do you think he does it?

  • One of rock's greatest songs

  • I love John's bass tone, it reminds me of Gene Simmons

  • Does anybody kno where I can download this whole album for free?

  • @UKBluegrassfan Torrent

  • @UKBluegrassfan cheapskate

  • This version of Pinball Wizard is one of my favourite tracks, just catchy as hell.

  • According to the notes on my vinyl record of Live At Leeds the 'crackling' was NOT to be deleted by the engineers.

  • For me since i was 4 years old the greatest Rock Song ever !!!!

  • Greatest live band ever........well, greatest band ever......

  • @bwc3821 greatest live band, but imo beatles are #1 and Led Zep #2 and The Who is #3

  • @Robinator7991 beatles at no.1, u sure?

  • @BritishTokuFan Ya i believe so theyre the ones who started it all pretty much and don't get me wrong, the who are great+better than the beatles live, but not in the studio imo

  • Feb 14, 1970.

  • quite possibly the tightest concert performance ever recorded.

  • @mikexlong it's not a concert performance, this is the studio version from tommy

  • @BTANETANETANETANE no it isn't......

  • @BTANETANETANETANE Its live dude.....

  • @RayManzarekGod whoops so it is! i dont think its from live at leeds though, thats why i was confused

  • @BTANETANETANETANE The Who do sound pretty good live ;) I could see where you'd be mixed up! It is, but not the original Live at Leeds on the Album or CD, (Funny enough, the tracks are in different order)

There is a "Deluxe" 2 disc CD which contains almost the whole opera Tommy, it was recently released, now if it was from a different night i'm not sure, let me check for you!

  • @BTANETANETANETANE Hey, I checked, the deluxe edition was released in 2001, I believe because modern technology allowed them to fix the 'crackling' noises you hear in some songs, but the Tommy recordings were affected so badly they could not be released!

  • @RayManzarekGod fair enough! I was confused because my version of Live at Leeds doesn't have that stuff and I assumed the guy had just mislabelled the songs from tommy as being from live at leeds. sorry everyyall

  • @BTANETANETANETANE Its alright... Mine actually doesn't either, the deluxe edition is only at 1 store in my town, and they charge like 40 bucks for it, which is far too much for me! When people discuss how good the album is, they are talking about the original version, which we have ;)

  • @BTANETANETANETANE No it isn't, man the studio version has a acoustic guitar and Keith Moon's drumming is much more tame and quiet. Listen to Moon on this recording, that's some out of control shit.

  • I love it, Kick Ass. When writing the lyrics to this song they musta been laughing their asses off. That def dumb and blind kid plays a mean pin ball... HAHA great stuff.

  • Apparently pete had a friend who was really into pinball- and he said he didn't like tommy. So pete asked if he would like it if it contained pinball. The guy said "FUCK YEAH!" so Pete wrote pinball wizard in like, an hour.

  • @TheBobvela Actually, when Pete wrote it, he thought it was the worst song he'd ever written. But everyone told him, "Pete, that's a hit."

  • @TheBobvela IT all sprouted from the mind of a genius, pete townsend, the lyrics, the music, the orchestrations, the leads, the bass lines, the drums, he wrote it all himself, AMAZING!!!!

  • This is awesome.
