  • In Tibet it is considered good manners to stick out your tongue at someone.

There was once a cruel king in Tibet named Lang Darma who had a black tongue. Tibetans believe that this king will be reincarnated. Therefore, they greet each other by sticking out their tongues, to prove that they are not the reincarnated evil king.

This tradition has gone on for centuries, so now it just serves as a customary display of respect.

-Do your research...and no, I'm not Tibetan

  • @homegirl44 Sweetie, I did do my research. That's why I lived in Tibet for 6 months. I'm well aware of the customs and traditions of the Tibetan's. It's why I put in my comments 'Tibetan Style'. I'm glad it made others such as yourself do their own research. That was my intent. No, I'm not Tibetan either. I just lived in Lhasa for 6 months.

  • @eljanio Unfortunately, I had done my research way before I came across this video sorry for the disappointment. The title came off to me as though you were mocking the culture, but I stand corrected as far as that goes. But as I said, I had already done my research.
