Roy Jones is gonna knock him out, he's too fast and too strong. Not just speed in his hands but his movement and footspeed will be too much to handle. This is the first real test for him he's been very carefully managed. Granted Kessler was good but not a true threat and Hopkins showed his true age in that fight and still made it competitive. RJJ isnt half the fighter he once was but he's still good enough to beat Joe. Joe makes it to the HOF though. 20+ defenses counts for something.

Calzaghe isn't the hardest puncher in the world but his hand speed and fitness more than makes up for it. Hopefully with the change in weight he will be a harder puncher now but he won't be throwing as many punches as he has done in previous fights. I say Calzaghe will win by KO in the later rounds 8th or 9th maybe.

Joe does often 'slap' but does mix them up with some decent punches. The beauty of it is that opponents don't know when a punch is going to have pop in it.

Calzaghe isn't the hardest puncher in the world but his hand speed and fitness more than makes up for it. Hopefully with the change in weight he will be a harder puncher now but he won't be throwing as many punches as he has done in previous fights. I say Calzaghe will win by KO in the later rounds 8th or 9th maybe.

Whoever told you he wants Woods. That's bull shit. I know from speaking to the guy all he cares about is the money and creating a legacy. And unfortunately Woods offers no real financial gain unlike fighting the yanks on HBO and showtime. All going well on Saturday expect to see him fighting Pavlic at a catch weight or a fight of a similar stature. as for fighting mediocre opponents you can only fight whats put in front of you. Blame Frank Warren and fighters avoiding him for that.

I know he slaps but unbelievable hand speed. Anything could happen. Hopkins great counter puncher and Calzaghe so fast. Can Joe stay away from a bomb from Hopkins and how long can Hopkins stand a rat a tat tat in his face? Leonard, most picked against him and said he had no power. He was so fast he ended up knocking out people he wasn't suppose to beat. Power vs speed. I can't pick a winner here. Even and both so good. Great fight for the fans.

Who`s to say he can`t do a Jeff Lacy on him.Jeff Lacy was too inexperienced but Hopkins is too old.He should whack him almost as good as he did to Lacy.He does`nt `slap`either.He was the first to whack Chris Eubank down and Eubank had the toughest chin in boxing and Hopkins will do well to remember that fight Calzaghe had.

He's always had good hand-speed. Thing with Calzaghe is that he doesn't have raw Knockout power like some people, especially American + Mexican boxers... + some English knockout artists of the past 10 years in Hatton, Naseem Hamed + Lewis (dareisay it!). Most of his knockdowns and knockouts come in later rounds becuz Joe's work-rate is so high and his opponents can't hang at that pace! And joe does 'slap' quite a bit. Having said that, I'm a Brit... and i'm rooting for Joe evn tho i like b-hop

Wrong. Joe had a very good KO percentage earlier in his career and hit a lot harder but now has to take a lot off due to his bad hands. As a result, he has increased his workrate and he doesn't sit on his punches as much.

Joe does often 'slap' but does mix them up with some decent punches. The beauty of it is that opponents don't know when a punch is going to have pop in it.
This isn't bare knuckle or 4oz gloves is it. If Joe did MMA then yes, he'd have to hit harder and yes, his hands would suffer because they appear fragile. It's not exactly rare in boxing. PBF has the same problem.
I can't disagree that he's a wasted talent though. Then again, no 'American big boys' wanted to fight him at smw...
