Hey Mitch, if you ever decide to play this on NG+ on your own time (though coming from your demeanor throughout this walkthrough, that's doubtful lol) for the love of god upgrade your shield or get a shield with better stability. The higher stability your shield has, the less stamina is drained from blocking an enemy blow.

@DamienYok oww but i wasnt comparissing, im sure this game is a very good RPG and i did enjoy watching the walktrough but the fighting in this game doesnt look that awesome tho, and yes elder scroll oblivion had pretty lame NPC's but i got my hopes up for Skyrim tho =), btw i think it would be fun for Mitchel to co comment on some parts in walktrough's with subscribers, thumbs up if u like this idea

@Foermbehoud dude try dark souls i hated it at first as well, mitchels fighting style is backstab heavy since he uses a weaker weapon, you can play with heavy weapons, which completely change the game, or speed weapons like katanas or be magic heavy. I seriously hated this game until i played it, it has insane replay value as well

@Foermbehoud A boring game it is not. Playing it yourself and watching someone else play it are two different things. If you played it, you'd understand about being cautious in this game. And it's not about getting backstabs, but for some mobs, critical hits help in ending the fight sooner. Backstabs are not the only way to do that. I want to play Skyrim too, but Dark Souls and Demons Souls are both badass.

@Don1970 NOthing can beat dark souls gameplay for sure, its fighting style, the stamina bar, the tactics and strategy all make it the best game play rpg style ive ever played, similar to zelda + monster hunter

but it severely lacks story line and multi player is poor, i hope they fix those in the future

@TheGiantKiller8 This game isn't really meant to be played for the story. I know it sounds cliche, but the journey is much more important than the destination in Dark Souls, as well as Demon's Souls. The game certainly would benefit from a more fleshed out storyline, perhaps, but it does well enough without it.

@Amainville93 in 2011 you would hope for some sort of story line but more importantly the game does nothing for newbies new to dark souls, i really struggled at the first boss and was furious that their was no real tutorial or story to guide newbies

@TheGiantKiller8 The era this game was made in means nothing. The game was made for you to learn from your deaths and experiences, not by having an NPC or something tell you what to do. The most guidance you get is by some NPCs you meet, such as the warrior at Firelink Shrine who say, "Ring the bells" or, "Get the Lordvessel" after seeing the gate open up. It's about exploration, and experiencing the game. It's not a game meant for everyone.

ITs a flaw not a design! the fact this game fails to help integrate new players is a shame... and npcs mentioning bells and lordvessels does nothing to help, Me and my friends looked online tons of times when we got lost, thats a flaw... Zelda and other games are tricky but manageable, dark souls is more gimmicks. with that said its still a good game

@TheGiantKiller8 Whatever, Dark Souls is easy. Yeah, I said it. It's easy IF you focus on what you're doing and really pay attention. It's not for casual gamers. Thank god at least one developer is willing not to chase a lazy market. And it's hard in all the good ways. It's not "Here, fight 100 enemies in 30 seconds" hard....it's "You will die, no matter what if you don't do this right, 100%". I love the challenge. When was the last time someone asked for perfect instead of good enough?

Stfu and admit this game has short comings looks like all the die hard dark souls fan gurls cant admit the game has some flaws, ive beaten the game several times and still PVP now and then, but i just think the game should have provided more advice for its players, and its not called hold our hands, its called progression, tips, storyline etc

@TheGiantKiller8 I didn't watch the guide or read the guide till after I beat the game, so I could get everything else the second time around. And no, I had no clue what poise was until I got better and heavier armor, and for that matter, I didn't know that humanity raised your item discovery(among other things). I did ask other players certain things, multiplayer aspect (the summonings) is to help you.

@leenva SOrry i got carried away, like all dark souls fans i have a hate and love for dark souls, i quit the game for days then always go back for more pvp, ive beaten the game 4-5 times because it is my favorite game of all time lol. But i still hate many things about it, im just a very harsh critic, my favorite japanese games are Street fighter, monster hunter and dark souls, also a huge mw2 fan... but dark souls is hands down the coolest rpg ever, pvp is outstanding

@leenva btw i know mw2 is not a japanese game... how did i beat ceaseless discharge? the guide showed some1 using a narrow chokepoint as cover, and after it attacks you with its tentacle, you can bash its arm for 5 seconds. Rinse and repeat. I used to guide often for dark souls cuz honestly the tutorial boss was so hard i was stuck on it for an hour. I was ready to sell the game until i read the review... im sure many ppl sold the game becuz it didnt provide a good tutorial

Haha, I spent the longest time trying to kill the Taurus Demon and the first Hydra in Darkroots. I swore not to play the game for a week every time I died, but that never quite worked out.

My issue with dark souls is i would just like a little more instruction. I never knew what was happening with upgrading my weapons and how to find shards. Also there were parts of the game that I could not have found without using a guide, i.e. the crystal cave, how the fuck is anyone suppose to just jump off a ledge and hope there is a invisible pathway, that was bull shit. It is things like that if you miss it, you could loss out on a critical element such as a forging embers

Parry is your friend here. Just stand in front of him and parry him down the whole fight. If you miss he nails you good, but once you get him you can down a flask. You just cant miss 3 times in a row or youll likely die depending on vitality.
