Joe didn't lose. they both threw some and both on the defence. both tied the other up and tried to get his right lose. It was like most fights and not many had the balls to step back and throw with joe. and mcsorley didn't do that here. no damage done by anyone.
And I wasn't making excuses for Kocur, he lost fair and square. But you need to learn A) to comprehend and B) What "bad match up" means. McSorley is a guy that I could see beating Kocur just about every time they fight because of his cardio. Kocur historically does poorly against guys that can outlast him. He usually knocks guys the fuck out if they try to trade. If you're a guy that likes to swing then Joey is a BAD match up for you because there's pretty much a 100% chance he hits harder.
1) I was referring to McSorley hanging on to Joeys right hand which he did. He'd BETTER hold on to it. anyone that doesn't goes to sleep or gets their orbital bone broken.
2) Do you even know what "bad match up" means? It means that the guy is someone that is going to be difficult for you to beat. McSorley IS a bad macth up for Kocur because Kocur is not known for cardio. McSorley did exactly what he needed to to beat Joey here. Avoid letting the big right hand land and outlast Joey.
McSorley is a bad match for Kocur: a guy that holds on until you tire and then takes over. Marty had the best cardio in the league at this point. Win for Marty.
@SCROGY I don't know what fight you're watching but the only "hangin' on" I seen in this fight was done by Joey. The first 10seconds he has his arm wrapped around McSorley's neck holding him in tight. Then they trade punches up until about the 38 second mark and Joey tries to get Marty to the ice, when his attempt fails,he pretty much just hangs on after that until the linesmen step in. When a good fighter loses a fight don't go makin' excuses for him. "OOHH bad match-up for Kocur blah blah...."
I'd have to say a DRAW, only because i didnt really see anyone get much of an advantage at all. Kocur got some punches, McSore landed a few, but no really edge. On to Round 3...
McSorley was one of the best endurance fighters, the scrap between him and Probert from '94 (I think) went on for over a minute at least.

"MaratonMarty" landed more and better in my book, in this nice bout.
Kocur landed 4-5 but McSorley landed more for sure.Technical victory for McSorley.
He EDGED Kocur here.
