Theres a simplier one (dosen't make you loose health at all) you see the corridor where you start well keep going then try hold jump button and get down :

Success : Directly near elevator

Fail : Fall to your painful death but if you didn't hold down jump button your character just grab the ledge

I'm not completly sure if that's a shortcut. You can hear the "Incoming horde" sound @ :56 . Usually, when I speedrun this level (I go into the first room and get a magnum or maybe a katana and bile bomb or pillz), I do it legitly and I don't get a horde until the end of that hallway with the two doors that have fire behind them. Seems like not much of a difference unless easy difficulty changes horde spawns.

yeh i think i accidently stumbled on this about 2 months ago when trying to suicide xD

I then went on to find an even better shortcut, although its harder:

1. Down the stairs from spawn

2.In the corridor, first room on the right

3. go to balcony, and carry on parallel to original corridor till you get to end of balcony, (furthest point from start of corridor)

4. Do a kind of curve jump down one flight, and your in the room with the lift.

5. enjoy many failed attempts :D

It usually works for me, or you could just go to the closed elevators on first floor. Then go out the window slowly, while holding space.

Then you should be on the elevator window.

@CrashBurnerXXEN Thank you very much. I googled this jump a day or two ago and found out that space completely cancels out the ledge grab, even if you inch off the edge or get zombie pushed off.

Knowing that has helped my friends and I so much. Now when we make the jump from the balconys on the left side, we all hold space until we are in the other window.

We can also do this elevator one now, and use the map room (hold space and shift to walk).
