Good question, it exactly has to be in 'mkv format. If I have it any other format... say.. .avi for the love of the argument, can it work?

@sumeragiyin if it's soft subbed (you can turn the subtitles on and off while playing the video) then it's possible, but I've never tried it myself

@ZeroDoesntAfraidOfYT does this allow you to remove things like credits from videos? I'm trying to upload an opening to a TV show and I don't want to have any credits.

@Thatguywiththelaptop no, this is only for softsubs, credits are not softsubs they are hard encoded to the video therefore they cannot be removed this way

@TheDanKid56 then this won't work, MP4's aren't softsubbed, this will only work for mkvs which are softsubbed

K ive done this a few times with different versions and different files and once its remuxed my PS3 doesnt recognize it. it plays the original MKV with subtitles fine, but it says 'Corrupted Data' as soon as soon as its remuxed :(
