I would like to urge every karateka to try to understand the soul connection among " Kokyu", " Zinshin" and " Dachi". Then you will sense the actual soul of KARATE.

@xxands93 Shotokan has 25 katas but only clubs that specialize in kata competition do them all I asume, since I trained in 3 countries and 5 clubs but only saw katas up to Empi :) I somehow ended up in clubs that do kihon mainly ....

@Theseus1000 hm, not really, most clubs which specialize in competition kata only do the kata which are good for competitions, i.e. Unsu, Gojushiho-Sho/Dai, Nijushiho, Empi, Gankaku, Jion, and that's basically it. The more traditional clubs train like, everything, but you have to wait a long time till you are allowed to practice them :)

i think that that was quite amazing and i would give it a 9/10 because when they bowed at the end they didn't keep their eyes up so that probably would have given some points or watevr off anyways it was almost perfect! :=)

As far as I'm aware no rule dictates that you should keep your eyes up when you bow. For kumite some people like to keep their eyes on their opponent, but for kata... Some people even say that lowering your eyes is a further sign of the respect/trust you have for the person you bow to.

i think france team kata is the best, because in 2008 there unsu wasnt extremly fake with the bunkai, france male team kata is the greatest.

the kata is from Shotokan, but the competition was WKF style. The WKF recognizes Shotokan, Goju-Ryu, Shito-Ryu and Wado-Ryu as styles.
