Perhaps it is - now! Some a years ago, a gunsmith friend of mine told the tale of how the early SA80's where just about the most unreliable rifle out there! My 'dig' was at the smaller calibre .223inch/5.56mm ammunition that the Americans prefer. I still think our lads would be better off with the FN 7.62. :-)

300 hundred years for doing very well financially out of the Union you mean. The Scots made a huge amount of money out of the British Empire. They occupied senior positions in the Civil Service, the army and were heavily involved in trade & commerce. I have recently joined the Air Assault Infantry unit, A + SH, 5th Battalion, following the successful completion of my training at RMAS. It still retains its sense of individuality, even though it now comes under the umbrella of the Royal Regiment of Scotland and Im proud to be a part of that. There are some of the best lads that i know in there. Never forget them.
