Also, considering that this trailer was uploaded in 2009, I'm wondering how the narrative of the story changed post-Justin going to EG. Obviously the story that seems to pervade the trailer isn't the same one that is in the finished product, and I'm wondering how the developments in real life affected the story being told in this movie.
@Alfrebaut You are correct, alot had changed over the course of that year. We were in the middle of closing it out and Justin left for EG. At that point we made the decision to keep filming and go for what we thought could lead to a more promising ending. I believe it paid off.
That's the hardest part of the art of doc film making. You don't know what the people are going to do so you develop a story on what you think is happening, and you need to be prepared at any point to switch it up.

@KOkun Thanks. The film was shot in 1080i, the max hi-def we could get with the camera's we used. (Canon HV20). Also, at the time the trailer was made, we were cutting in HDV 1080i, which has since changed. As for a release date, that is info that will be released soon. Check out the Twitter for more info. The film won't be posted on here, but will be in theaters, festivals, and more great places to be announced.

(KOkun is my other account btw, this is the main tech one) Also, you guys should definitely render into progressive format still on any video editing program to the mp4 container; whether it's 1080p or 720p is up to you. My Canon HF200 does 1080i 60i as well, and I render into 1080p 60p "main concept" AVC (vid) AAC (audio) mp4 extension, keeping the highest quality possible. What are you guys using to edit btw? Best of luck to you guys and I'll check out that movie when it's released.
Finally...note that Daigo does not run through Justin anymore. He just has Justin's number when it come to Rufus and that is because Justin is lazy and uses the character to rush opponents down rather than strategically fighting Daigo with his other characters that clearly need more work. The facts are Daigo is better than Justin at SF4, PERIOD! However that does not take away the fact that Justin is still gdlk at the game. SBO is not the crowning of competitive fighting games. It is the only tournament set up in the world that has a "Single" game elimination. The majority of tournaments around the world from the time competitive gaming was pioneered on a head to head basis has been double elimination. Beating someone 1 game does not mean that you are better than them. If Justin got a easy bracket and played Daigo in the finals of SBO and beat him is he better than Daigo? No, it just means that he won 1 Game.
What's his name Big Red? Is he not aware of a mystical place called Japan where they run thru all foreigners including Wong every year? Is he knowledgeable enough to be commentating on who is the best? no.
Are you aware that Japan does not "Run" through all foreigners. Their national champion lost to Justin Wong, who Daigo has a hard time beating? The problem here is that many of you think that Daigo can not lose.
Don't get me wrong he is a very tough and strong competitor but the Empire does well against him. Arturo and Sanford have beaten Daigo in matches, both tournament and grudge. Although Justin has suffered 3 defeats to him in SF4, he has significantly improved each time he fights him.
Daigo is not the best in Japan nor would I classify him as the best in the world as most people who follow SF4 and the fighting game community in general. He is one of the best but not the best. Justin is unarguably the best in the U.S. which is a feat in itself. Not one can argue this, but we're speaking of the world here.
SBO is pretty much a shining example that Japan goes thru all foreigners in almost all games. Most of the top players here are happy to make it thru the first round.
And I would like to add, considering the number of games Justin is top at he could be considered one of the best in the world but not necessarily in any one game. Marvel at it's peak, I would definitely think he was the best in the world. But then you also have players like Tokido, Daigo, Nuki, etc. who are also dominate in 3 or more games.
Until an American team or player wins SBO I don't any validation that we have the best player in the U.S. Hopefully can pull it off next year :).

@oskiH AgreedJust another aspect of the film that is currently being worked on. This trailer was put out during EVO, while the film was still in production, so we didnt have time to clean up the sound. We wanted people to see what we were in the process of making. There will a new trailer soon enough, with tighter cuts, a more coherent story, and yes, cleaned up sound.

@KOkun Thanks. The film was shot in 1080i, the max hi-def we could get with the camera's we used. (Canon HV20). Also, at the time the trailer was made, we were cutting in HDV 1080i, which has since changed. As for a release date, that is info that will be released soon. Check out the Twitter for more info. The film won't be posted on here, but will be in theaters, festivals, and more great places to be announced.

Aight bet. (KOkun is my other account btw, this is the main tech one) Also, you guys should definitely render into progressive format still on any video editing program to the mp4 container; whether it's 1080p or 720p is up to you. My Canon HF200 does 1080i 60i as well, and I render into 1080p 60p "main concept" AVC (vid) AAC (audio) mp4 extension, keeping the highest quality possible. What are you guys using to edit btw? Best of luck to you guys and I'll check out that movie when it's released.

Finally...note that Daigo does not run through Justin anymore. He just has Justin's number when it come to Rufus and that is because Justin is lazy and uses the character to rush opponents down rather than strategically fighting Daigo with his other characters that clearly need more work. The facts are Daigo is better than Justin at SF4, PERIOD! However that does not take away the fact that Justin is still gdlk at the game. He's USA Champ and has beaten Japan champ, he just can't beat Daigo.

Please note that Japan (SBO) is not does not define competitive fighting games. The 2 guys that won SF4 at SBO are KOF players, that won 1 game to win. Does that mean they are better than Mago and Daigo or Iyo? Sighs! can't wait until "GAMME" comes up when the Empire face Japan in SSF4 in a set.
Justin is more diverse & gdlk @ SF4, SF3, CVS 2, T5, MVC 2, Super Turbo, TVC, GGXX & even at one time Smash. He's placed top 5 in all of the mention minus smash. Justin is 1 of the worlds best fighters

SBO is not the crowning of competitive fighting games. It is the only tournament set up in the world that has a "Single" game elimination. The majority of tournaments around the world from the time competitive gaming was pioneered on a head to head basis has been double elimination. Beating someone 1 game does not mean that you are better than them. If Justin got a easy bracket and played Daigo in the finals of SBO and beat him is he better than Daigo? No, it just means that he won 1 Game.

Are you aware that Japan does not "Run" through all foreigners. Their national champion lost to Justin Wong, who Daigo has a hard time beating? The problem here is that many of you think that Daigo can not lose.
Don't get me wrong he is a very tough and strong competitor but the Empire does well against him. Arturo and Sanford have beaten Daigo in matches, both tournament and grudge. Although Justin has suffered 3 defeats to him in SF4, he has significantly improved each time he fights him.

Daigo is not the best in Japan nor would I classify him as the best in the world as most people who follow SF4 and the fighting game community in general. He is one of the best but not the best. Justin is unarguably the best in the U.S. which is a feat in itself. Not one can argue this, but we're speaking of the world here.
SBO is pretty much a shining example that Japan goes thru all foreigners in almost all games. Most of the top players here are happy to make it thru the first round.

And I would like to add, considering the number of games Justin is top at he could be considered one of the best in the world but not necessarily in any one game. Marvel at it's peak, I would definitely think he was the best in the world. But then you also have players like Tokido, Daigo, Nuki, etc. who are also dominate in 3 or more games.
Until an American team or player wins SBO I don't any validation that we have the best player in the U.S. Hopefully can pull it off next year :).

@oskiH AgreedJust another aspect of the film that is currently being worked on. This trailer was put out during EVO, while the film was still in production, so we didnt have time to clean up the sound. We wanted people to see what we were in the process of making. There will a new trailer soon enough, with tighter cuts, a more coherent story, and yes, cleaned up sound.
