But we will all remember the good times and this is where l met you and this was realy good don't you think so?

  • @Ilovepradamilano & nelruth , and all our Good Guys who posted here.

It was great while it lasted , with so much enjoyment and lasting Friendships gained . Good Luck to all.

  • I logged on to Lynnie's facebook page today,28/2/11, and was shocked and saddened to read that she had died. She burst in here, sprinkled her fairy dust and always left me smiling,

  • Susans audition video was the best video on You Tube,Its a shame BST had to take it off. All of those wonderful old comments are lost in space and I am very sorry about that.

  • Happy Birthday Susan Boyle an' may ye see mony mair.

  • Right. Who wants to organise a reunion?

  • Hi Happy,I couldnae organise a p***-up in a brewery so you'll have to keep looking.

The Official site has just reported that Susan will be singing Wild Horses on BBC TV's Sport Relief, tomorrow night-at approx.22.50 Hrs.

  • Susan will be performing I Dreamed A Dream, live and probably slowly,in Leipzig tomorrow.

It would make sense,if she was paid for every minute that she was on stage,to sing everything slowly but her fans may prefer that the performance is closer to her original audition.

  • Susan will not be participating at CairnGorm Mountain which is attempting to set a world record for the largest number of kilted skiers/snowboarders skiing down a piste at once. The attempt will take place tomorrow, Saturday 6th March at 11am.

  • Susan's official site reports that she spent last night in Monte Carlo after performing in the festival in San Remo,Italy yesterday.

She flew to Paris this morning, recorded I Dreamed a Dream for a French tv programme and then onto the Eurostar for London where she will be filmed tomorrow for Sony Japan.

    International Wonderwoman !!!

  • Two more items added to Susan's official site's home page:

1..details of her filming at Loch Lomond for the CBS morning show and her forthcoming trip to Spain for two programmes.

2...another video showing the making of the Helping Haiti video.

Magic!!! and all from the horse's mouth rather than tabloid rumours.

The Official Site is developing into something special.

  • Nel

The video makes all the difference and I would prefer to buy a dvd rather than download the music only.

    Hope they raise a fortune.

  • Hello Nel

    Good to see you.

I saw the 81y.o.earlier and think that there will be a new Susan Boyle promoted on every talent show from here to eternity.

No one will equal her. There is only one Susan Boyle.

  • Helping Haiti - Everybody Hurts Video Documentary .Includes Susan's contribution.

The link has been posted on the home page on Susan's official site.

  • Just thought i would check in and see if anyone was around. I hope everyone is well. Im just home from Tenerife. Hated every minute of it but thats a story for another day. Its sad things have slowed in here. We had some laughs. I tried the new site but couldnt make any sense of how it works so gave up. Keep in touch everyone.xx

  • Cy...it's your birthday.Have a great one Lynnie . Wishing you many happy returns of the day.

  • Hello, People! I join DelLeslie in wishing everyone a new year full of delightful surprises!

  • nelruth12, have a wonderful new year full of unexpected blessings!

  • Here's wishing you all a Happy,Healthy and Prosperous New Year.

  • GwenFarclas, you are a delightful ambassador for Scotland! Here's hoping for a special new year for you!

  • Happy New Year to everybody.

    You've all made a difference.

    Thanks for that.

  • aldenbuzz, what a great friend and fan you are! May your new year bring peace and joy!

  • All the best to you wild and crazy folks on the other side of the pond, Happy New Year, and to my American buddies, too. Thanks for all you did to make 2009 so much fun. And here's to a happy and healthy 2010. Cheers, buds. (Oh, and I also hope you prosper)

And here's to Susan Boyle who brought us all together: Happy New Year Miss Boyle, you're one of a kind, and all over the world we've gone crazy over you.

  • Nelly, LANG MAY YIR LUM REEK WI ITHER FOWK'S COAL, my friend.

We love you, Nelly. Take this as proof, my Ace.

  • It was freezing up when I was coming home last night after a meal ot last night. Im dreading venturing out for work this morning. Must be done. I owe, I owe, its off to work I go.

  • May the new year be full of cheer A great end to December But listen here and start the year With some things you must remember Easter chocs go in the shops As soon as Christmas finishes So be a honey get your choc bunny Then wash the Christmas dishes Along comes summer so do a runner And get your tanning lotion It will be a bummer in the summer To burn without this potion. With autumn by you cant deny That Christmas is near And with a sigh you cant deny its been a quick year
  • 1happierhaggis, may you keep warm and be happier still in the new year!

  • Hi Nel,

Yes, thats whay I was up so early. And thats me just got home again. But i have a whole one day off tomorrow. I intend to sleep for nhalf of it and sit down for the other half. Past few days at work have been very enjoyable but draining too.

  • @nelruth12

I was thinking of Mr Magoo.

  • @nelruth12

Im embarrassed to say this but Im not sure who McGonagal is. Is he that accident prone cartoon? I have enjoyed my days at work over Christmas. We had lovely meals and I even made todays soup. It went down a treat.

  • Merry Christmas, buds.

  • Merry Christmas to all!! ♥♥♥

  • Christmas snow is on the ground

I hope that I wont slip

In the hospital to be found

    With a Christmas broken hip

  • Wishing all my chums a wonderful Christmas, etc, etc

  • The family is here so it's goodnight from me.

The buffet is set and once that's over,g/kids will ask for their bed then be up and down until near midnight.

There will be milk and mincemeat pies left for Santa and a carrot each for Rudolph and Olaf.

Will think of you at work tomorrow Happy-all the best.

  • Happy

Every year I vow to be better organised and pre-empt the last minute panic.

All seemed well until the overlooked Boxing Day ham was remembered this morning so I had to shop today too.

Opened the first jar of my Christmas chutney and beloved discovered that I had added twice the quantity of ground cloves to the recipe.

Appears, from the written note, that I'm for it when the tongue and throat recover.

  • Look on the bright side Gwen. It appears that you are in for a peaceful Christmas, and you will be able to wach all you fave Christmas telly without interuption.

  • Never mind the rediculous emergancy buying of bread and milk on Christmas Eve as if there was a war on. I have just bought enough cigaretts to sink a battleship.

  • I enjoyed BBC's tribute to Clement Freud-never knew that he was Sigmund's grandson.

His joke at the end of the programme made me laugh so I'll share it.

  • A wife had given her husband his final warning about his drunken behaviour.

Suitably chastened,he left for the pub, vowing to behave.

He over-indulged and was sick all over his suite which had a sobering effect. He was worried and took his friend's advice to stick a £20 note in his jacket pocket and tell his wife that the pub drunk had vomited over him and had given him the money for the suite to be laundered.

He is met with a stony silence on his return home and relayed the circumstances.

  • His wife reached into his breast pocket, retrieved the cash and exclaimed that there were two £20 notes there.

Yes said the husband, the other 20 is from the guy who shit in my pants.

  • Thank you Susan for a memorable 2009 and thanks to Deadline for the lodgings.

I hope that you all enjoy a very merry Christmas.

  • Thanks for the poignant poetry happy.

  • Your welcome Gwen. And a happr Christmas to you too. Sorry to interrupt the joke. Will sit on my hands and stop talking in class.

  • Written For Jane (An old lady I work with)

I see you old lady though your memories stray

That they not always did so, not always that way

You were young you were gifted and funny and sprite

You played the piano and danced through the night

You loved being pretty your photos so tell

Your hair always perfect, your clothes always swell

I see that all in you. Its not gone away

I see it all in you. I see it today.

  • Im glad you all appreciated the poem. I find it very useful. One of our men we care for died in hospital this afternoon, and I am bery saddened. Hes been in hospital a few weeks now after a massive stroke. What an honour it is to be able to have visited him a couple of times in there and hold his hand in complete comfort and self confidence. No embarassment. No awkwardness. Just being there to perhaps provide a little comfort in someones final days.

  • As I mentioned, that poem was written by an old lady, and found after her death. It was distributed to all the nusrses in the hospial where she died (somewhere near Dundee). And they had thought she died leaving little of any value. Us Scots are such a wonderful, lyrical bunch, and talented in so many ways. The name of this lady is unknown. But her words speak for thousands.

  • This is a poem, written by an old lady in nursing care, which was found after her death. It helps me to do my job with some thought and insight. Its a bit long, but I will try to fit into as few psts as possible.

    Old Lady`s Poem

What do you see, nurses, what do you see?

What are you thinking when you`re looking at me?

A crabby old woman, not very wise

Uncertain of habbit, with faraway eyes?

Who dribbles her food and makes no reply

When you say in a loud voice`I do with you`d try`

  • Who seems not to notice the things that you do, and Forever is losing a stocking or shoe... Who, resisting or not, lets you do as you will, With bathing and feeding, the long day to fill... Is that what you`re thinking? Is that what you see? Then open your eyes; you`re not looking at me. I`ll tell you who I am as I sit here so still as I do at your bidding, as I eat at your will. Im a small child of ten.. with a father and mother, brothers and sisters, who love one another
  • A young girl of sixteen, with wings on her feet

dreaming that soon now, a lover she`ll meet

A bride soon at twenty..my heart gives a leap

Remembering the vows that I promised to keep.

at 25 now I have young of my own

Who need me to guide, and a secure happy home

A woman of thirty, my young grown now so fast

Bound to each other with ties that should last

At forty my young sons have grown and are gone

But my mans at my side to see I dont mourn

  • At fifty once more, babies play round my knee

Again we know children, my loved one and me

Dark days are upon me, my husband is dead

I look at the future, I shudder with dread

For my young are all rearing young of their own

And I think of the years and the love I have known

Im now an old woman and nature is cruel

Tis jest to make old age look like a fool

The body, it crumbles, grace and vigour depart

There is now a stone where there once was a heart

  • But inside this carcuss a young girl still dwells

And now and again, my batterd heard swells

I remember the joys, I remember the pain

And Im loving and living life over again

I remember the years, all too few, gone too fast

And accept the stark fact that nothing can last

So open your eyes, people, open and see

not a crabby old woman; look closer...See ME

Ok. Truth time. I havnt a clue what that means.

  • @HeGave

When I have difficulty understanding a comment in English,I unconsciously lapse into the shoutbox of my forebears.

The comment translates to "my hover-craft is full of eels" and is just as pertinent to this site as the comment which preceded it.

  • I just dropped by to wish everyone a very Happy Holidays and may they be safe and wonderful. I love you all.

  • ...here's that "r"..

  • Merry Christmas guys.

    Hiya, ancabamo!

Mery Christmas and may you have peace and happiness, ancabamo.

  • Deep pan,crisp pan even.

  • Hi nel and gwen,

Yes, it feels good to make others happy. The gift is always to the giver. By Christmas she will have forgotten she has seen her gifts and will experience the happiness all over again.

  • Nel

It's the early bird that catches the T.Roll

  • @nelruth12

Hi nel. I see you have been busy. The shopping trip went well. Spend just slightly under £600 on goodies for her. Shes to move into a nursing home in January and I wanted to make sure she had nice things to take with her. Only one error in the shopping. A nice red coat on a size 22 hanger was actually a size 12 so it will need exchanged. Shes delighted with the rest.

  • Happy

It was good to read that your selection was appreciated.Gives you a warm glow,I hope.

  • @Wulla

Keeping you and your beloved in my heart-prayers.

  • Wulla

I second that wish for a speedy recovery and hope that you both enjoy a warm, family Christmas at home.

  • A wee hello to everyone. Today is the day I dread the most in the year at work. Its the day I have to go out clothes shopping for Christmas for an 81 year old, size 22, five foot zero lady. She isnt able to come so its all down to me. Marks and Spencers here I come.

  • @Wullawonta

The @Wullawonta must have been automatic. Clever wee trick. Anyway, Wulla, I never knew of your wifes poor health and wish her a speedy recovery and a wonderful Christmas to you both, and to all my other friends at the pudding Bowl.

  • I take it back

  • Hi Nel

Nae sna' at lower levels although three consecutive days when daytime temps.never rose above freezing-There was even ice on the iced cakes.

For tea,it's chicken breasts, filled with Boursin and wrapped in Markie's streaky bacon-with skirlie.I've set an extra place just in case your tempted.

  • Hi Cy

    We're missing U2 but understand why,Cy.

  • I hope that everyone is doing well at the PB. Miss you all so much. I just check in to see what's happening. Please never change. You are all brilliant, kind, and the funniest people I've ever had the privilege to know. Darn why are there so many waves breaking over the side if the boat? If you wonder why I wrote that; you must talk to Evalizzie.

  • How wonderful to see some activity in here again. I thought we had died a death. I was about to post a sentimental farewell to everyone but now it looks like I dont need to bother.

  • Ouch, my foot is stiff.

I'll see you later, Nelly and ancabamo.

  • Nelly's giving her laptop a lecture.

Good bye, ancabamo, it was so good to see you again.

I'll try to help Nelly, and come back when she can.

    You come back, too, ancabamo.

  • Nobodie's said anything, anyways.

  • Then spank it's your laptop's bottom, Nelly and tell it to speed up, but don't let ancabamo see, she doesn't believe in corporal punishment.

  • Nelly, how did you untie yourself?

(I bet it was ancabamo that tied you up in the first place.)

  • That was not me. She was making supper when that happened, ancabamo.

  • Ya, good to see you, Nelly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Is Nelly in the big grotto?

  • I don't quite know where to begin, ancabamo, I've been off for such a long time.

    Here's the paper, though. It's a bill I'm ignoring.

  • Do you think I've been off on a fishing trip, ancabamo? (I love fishing, but I don't like fish too much.)

  • Well, let's see, ancabamo, where should I start?

  • Okay, I'll need directions to her grotto, though, ancabamo.

    Draw me a map?

  • Where have YOU been, ancabamo?

  • I can definitely get Nelly out if she needs it, ancabamo.

I've been having lots of fun, ancabamo.

  • Yes, I have a beautiful jacknife, well made, ancabamo, from Maine.

  • I'm fine, thanks, ancabamo.

    How are you?

It's so good to see you.

  • Maybe she's tied up, ancabamo.

    In her grotto.

  • Hi, ancabamo

Buzz,We'll have to do something aboutit if you keep missing!

  • Hiya, Nelly!!!!!

Well, I only missed you by 45 minutes this time. I'm improving.

    Hi to all of you.

Be well. I'll look for you again later.

  • Nel- me too. Where is everyone?

  • Not at all Nel.

I got the news at tea time from Alan who taxted me. Then he called me immaediatly saying Blanche would have been furious about that. He was referring to an epison where another of the characters died (cant remember who) and it was announced by text. Blanche was outraged, saying her demise (pronounced demeeze) had better not be announced in the same way.

  • Note that happy's last comment is spammed.Same thing happened to the second part of 2Alljoy's comment yesterday which never posted as anything other than spam.

I have concluded that it is a u-tube fault rather than a phantom spammer.

  • Im really saddened by the death of Maggie Jones, who played Blanche in Coronation Street. She was wonderfully funny.

  • And good morning to everyone else too. Its actually almost 2pm but Im just up.

  • Hi and bye to all. I'm off to work now.

  • Hi, Onawawgirl.

    Hiya, Hap.

Sorry I can't stay. I'll look in later for you all, though.

    Have a good one.

  • Nellieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Buzzy- what's that in your pocket? Have you been into Nel's cookies again?

  • hahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • That was the biggest wake-up call ever.

  • HA HA, GwenFarclas.

  • Time to get up you guys.

  • Good evening. Everybody happy?

  • Hi Happier- yes, very happy, as the holidays are coming and we're planning to get together with both family and special friends. A lot to look forward to. How are you? Still studying?

  • Hi Owana

Went off to bed after leaving that message. Im not a Christmassy person. Call me a cynic but there seems to be something very wrong with sending cards to people you cant even be arsed phoning for the rest of the year. Dont really have any family either as Ima wee orphan. But Im working this year and its always a nice day at work. We make it special for them and it melts me a little. Studying coming on slowly and lazily.

  • Hi Nel- just replying now because I left for a wee nap right after posting. I'm doing fine, thanks- just getting older. But Wulla and I have agreed that getting older doesn't mean you have to grow up.

  • Where seldom is heard a discouraging word

Anda skies are not cloudy all day.

Just a wee chorus of my favourite Aga song folks, Home on the Range

  • Hi Gwen- I enjoyed your singing. Perhaps a duet with Susan one day?

  • Hi Onawaw

A duet with Pebbles would suit my singing better

  • You remind me of the time my son was taking violin lessons. As he screeched away his teacher's dog lay snoozing peacefully. I couldn't understand how, and mentioned it to the teacher. Just watch, she said, picked up her own violin and played a beautiful melody. The dog came to full alert, his eyes bugged out, and he began to howl pitiously.

  • He didn't like classical.

  • Ya, I went, nel, but I'm back to see if you're back and say hello.

  • Hiya, nelly!

You posted this an hour ago.

I'll go look and see if you're still here.

  • Great to see you Onawa, looking forward to Christmas and Hogmanay?

The dress is due for an outing soon nel. Maybe tomorrow if it's not too cold. I do like keeping warm these days.

  • Hi Weeb, Yes, I can hardly wait for Christmas and Hogmanay. Less stress with both these days now that I've decided to shop on the internet or give money.

  • Hi Weeb and Nel- I think I heard Buzzy mutter that he was on the way to raid more of Nel's cookies, haggis and videos. I hope he leaves some for you.

  • Shopping should be outlawed and classed as a bad word. I HATE it, especially at Christmas.

Noticed Borders books is closing down. Another of my favourite shops gone,

  • Nope....still fooltloose, but after another day shopping in Glasgow I'm thinking a wee bit of solitary might not be a bad idea.

  • Evening nel, peace reigns....for how long?

Early night for me, busy day tomorrow. I have a lot to catch up on thanks to flu!!

  • I thought Buzzy said 'YOLKS' and I was ducking!!

    Hi nel, buzzy......how's things?

  • Hiya, wee, what's shakin'?

(this post is also from an hour ago, I'll also check to see if you are still here in addition to checking to see if NELLY is here.) NELLLLLLYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • HAHA!!!

    Good one, wee, YOLKS!

  • Wassuuuuup, Scotland!

  • Good, 1hap.

  • Hi everyone. Hope everyone is having a good day. Im having a sneaky 5 mins away from it all. See you all later when I get in from work if Im not too tired.
