there are several other humane ways to manage wildlife, that do not involve killing them. Sterilization, relocation, ect.. can be very cost effective. Yes poaching is a huge problem, reprehensible and largely organized crime.

Hunting is not a pretty sight. Not everyone is cut out for it. Just like everybody is not cut out to work in a slaughter house. But it still has to happen and someone has to do it.

I'd love to enter the moose hunting lottery in NH (where I'm from) but I hear it's tough to get just like any lottery. Yes this was a beautiful animal. As distressing as it might seem the shot was a kill shot. The animal bled out in less than a minute. I do not eat puma. I only hunt what I eat. But if the hunter paid for his tag, his license, and was hunting within the laws of the state, then he has the right to harvest that animal. Good hunters are excited when it comes to the moment of the kill. They also respect the life they have taken. That is why I only hunt for what I will eat. These men were broke no law

Other than "just because I CAN" there's no decent motive for killing an animal like that unless it's an immediate threat to you. In fact, it shows a complete lack of character.
A lot of people claim "city folk don't understand why we do it" but that's false. Evil isn't regional. The mentality behind this type of killing is similar to a predatory mugger in a big city, or a regular old serial killer. That the species being killed isn't human doesn't diminish the overall callousness of the act.

I came across this searching for footage of wild lions....alive and was curious. If you read my post accurately I state that I'm cool with hunting for food (prey animals) or killing feral species that cause damage to crops/property (wild pigs for example). there are several other humane ways to manage wildlife, that do not involve killing them. Sterilization, relocation, ect.. can be very cost effective. Yes poaching is a huge problem, reprehensible and largely organized crime.
