CCP back then was actually the "good" government, while GMD was the corrupted one, favoring capitalists, landowners and industralists at the expense of the poor peasants, who were 95% of Chinese population.

Because CCP redistributed land to the peasants, who for the first time, finally got their own lands instead of farming for a feudal contract. It was a good time for China, and Chinese people geniunely believed in rebuilding the country through Communism.

@braintnt Almost all technologies today are transfered or copied through convergence. Copying an existing technology, and improve upon it is a normal way for technological advancement. @strongestass chinese company has made good MIPS chip. however x86 is owned by intel, it is impossible to make high performance chip without licensing agreement(something only AMD has, doubt intel will sign new ones). most chinese supercomputer still has requirement to run existing program written for x86 develop for use in their US counterpart. so it not just about making chip, it also the codebase and maturity of the architectural which will take decade to gain popularity.
the next gen technology for supercomps is being developed by IBM, optical interconects. but it will be manufactured in asia. we are global now, asian money runs the american media which controls the elections. its all legal now, no need to do it on the sly;

@tristanlstein actually the interconnector IS the engine of supercomputer, the chip are the individual piston. supercomputer is not a single chip, and if you know anything about computers you should know that feeding information into the system is the hardest part. most computers run idle cycles waiting for data, the only reason this machine can process 2x as much data with half the number of chip to it's counterpart is the interconnector ability to mate different chip together.

Because CCP redistributed land to the peasants, who for the first time, finally got their own lands instead of farming for a feudal contract. CCP also build established public education, healthcare, postal services, build roads, bridges, etc, things that were completely absent under the Qing dynasty. It was a good time for China, and Chinese people geniunely believed in rebuilding the country through Communism.

@braintnt Almost all technologies today are transfered or copied through convergence. Copying an existing technology, and improve upon it is a normal way for technological advancement. This is how we have muskets in the 16th century that can shoot maximum 2 rounds per minute and it evolves into today's machinegun which can shoot 600 rounds a minute. Europeans copied musket design from China and improved it. Chinese certainly didn't complain.

@strongestass chinese company has made good MIPS chip. however x86 is owned by intel, it is impossible to make high performance chip without licensing agreement(something only AMD has, doubt intel will sign new ones). most chinese supercomputer still has requirement to run existing program written for x86 develop for use in their US counterpart. so it not just about making chip, it also the codebase and maturity of the architectural which will take decade to gain popularity.

@tristanlstein actually the interconnector IS the engine of supercomputer, the chip are the individual piston. supercomputer is not a single chip, and if you know anything about computers you should know that feeding information into the system is the hardest part. most computers run idle cycles waiting for data, the only reason this machine can process 2x as much data with half the number of chip to it's counterpart is the interconnector ability to mate different chip together.
