  • Gorgeous<3

  • thank your, great work!

  • Great, thanks.

  • good job but face is wider @ cheekbones &mouth

    drops on left.

  • can anybody help me, i got bob ross oil to paint. does oil take a day or so to dry??? anybody? also what is brand of paint is best for face portraits? and acrylic or oils?

  • It depends on what you paint on, and also how thick or thin your paint is. The thinner you've made the paint, the quicker it will dry. If you paint on canvas, it'll take longer than if you're painting on illustration board. Oil is really awesome to work with, but acrylic is probably the best to start off with. It can be difficult but watch a few demos on how to do portrait painting with acrylics first, it'll help out :D

  • Used Winsor & Newton Liquin to oil , but I prefer acrylic

  • It takes a week to dry. and even then its not really 'dry'. i only have used bob ross with a few exceptions and i love his paint. don't bother buying 'skin tone' paint. mix yourself.

    :)

  • @ilov3lucy86 i wouldn't use 'happy' paint that is used to paint 'happy' trees or clouds. bob ross was a couch painter, a craftsman, that used all the tricks to create a 'couch' painting. want to come back and work a painting over? use oils. do a painting in 2 hours and finish. use either. not the brand, it's the use, the handling. lean to thick is the rule with oils. i threw out my acrylics and went back to what i started at 9 years old. oils.

  • sos un duro, me encanta mucho.. cuando vienes a colombia a dictar clases, me interesaria mucho, saludos desde tu pais natal.

  • I love how you modeled her head, awesome!

  • Poco a poco se ve el parecido gestual, que es lo más difícil en un retrato. Buen demo maestro!!! (le envié un MP, espero lo lea)

    Saludos!

  • Nicolas! What a wonderful treat to see you at work and hear you, my friend. Please make more of these video demos!

  • I think that portrait is absolutely gorgeous. I love the old world, classical look to it.

  • your portrait is pretty good, your colors are much better than the real ones. i'm looking forward to seeing more of your painting videos/tutorials

  • A DVD would be a good seller..just do it right and it will sell and sell..also, it would help a lot of aspiring artists. I'll take the first one!

  • This was a treat. Thanks for posting. :-)

  • Is there somewhere a an url or a rapidshare file where we can get the video at normal speed by any chance? :)

  • that's a great idea. I'd certainly watch it.

  • hey ! no sabia de estos videos.

los encontre despues de que me hiciera las correcciones de la entrega final.Buscando inspiracionnn jejej

  • Hi Nicolas, please tell what is in the two white containers that you have on the pallette...?

is one a medium and is one cold wax? ..thanks

  • Nope, in this case I think I painted with Studio Products Robersons Medium, which pretty much behaves like Liquin, although it's not an alkyd medium. It has a bit more body and dries super quick. A bit tacky but wonderful stuff

  • presumido.

  • At 58 seconds into the video you seem to have something besides a brush in your right hand. Is is a can of spray?

If you made a similar video without the camera shake and other distractions, you would be able to interest a lot of people here on YouTube. Your painting and approach are very evocative.

  • Very interesting video idea. Watching you work is very educational. That shot of your palette had two containers on it. Does one contain wax? What are in them? thanks

  • Love watching you paint so well Nicolas. Can You upload a copy that isn't compressed by YouTube on your web page either to download or view?

  • post more!!!! good stuff? did this sell yet?

  • Wonderful ... 5 Stars

Added your name on the list of Subscribe to the my Channel

  • This is a really nice demonstration. I got a lot out of watching.

  • Excelente! Es dificil encontrar pintores en Colombia que pinten con tanto entusiasmo y rigor

  • Nicolás Uribe: The master of aesthetic name-dropping.

  • woohoo ..nice job nicolas! -Eric

  • Hey Nicolas, cool demo.

  • Great demo! Please post more.. :)

  • Great post! Thanks so much. It's great to see you work...even if it's sped up.

  • For some reason the video is freezing @ 2:34... no clue why this is happening, but just drag it passed that time and it'll keep going... an uploading glitch I guess...
