I think this was to show the children the prejudice they have and the families have. I personally am from New Brunswick and would not believe that the intention was anything bad. Also agreeing with a lot of the people here, you TYT should really look up what the term race means... Then maybe look up the proper name of groups such as Aboriginal peoples in Canada.

@premium1823 From my understanding, the only races out there are Negroid(African), Mongoloid(Asian, and Caucasoid(European). Hispanic is a term used to describe a group of people who come from a Spanish speaking country, and who's mother country is Spain. Hispanics could be black, white, or asian. Furthermore, I would assume that pacific islander's are people of Asian descent. Although, I'm not completely sure. I'd check online or find a different source to be sure.

I'm from NYC and the School I attended had a predominantly African American population. And I don't know what you mean by "paying the price," because my life is actually pretty good. I did absolutely nothing in High School, yet I have a current GPA of 3.7 in College and I will soon receive a bachelors in Bio-chemistry. In-fact, I plan to further my education and get a Masters.

@premium1823 From my understanding, the only races out there are Negroid(African), Mongoloid(Asian, and Caucasoid(European). Hispanic is a term used to describe a group of people who come from a Spanish speaking country, and who's mother country is Spain. Hispanics could be black, white, or asian. Furthermore, I would assume that pacific islander's are people of Asian descent. Although, I'm not completely sure. I'd check online or find a different source to be sure.

I'm so sick of race. Really tired of things like 'Let's Celebrate Black History Month' or hispanic month, or women month or gay pride. These tags keep creating stereotypes. Can't we just celebrate the simple point of being human and throw all races, genders, sexual orientations et; etc; away? Once we break these racial stereotypes we can be free and focus on the important things, not these trivialities of skin pigmentation or gender. I'm kind of off topic but anyway...

This is about one race surviving, which means we are talking about a post-apocalyptic world, not the modern post-industrial world of today. Given that we are talking about surviving, that assumes long term survival of both the people & the planet.
Native American lived in harmony with nature for 15,000 years before white men came. To them, the existence of white people in America is a blip in time. They quietly wait for us to destroy ourselves, so they can return to tradition.

You may not agree with me, but history consistently proves me right. Native peoples of the earth tend to live in harmony with the nature. At least until white men came along and made that impossible.
And being white and of Scandinavian and English heritage, I would not likely be interested in living in Africa. The Scandinavians are far more civilized than most white men, and living there would be far more appealing.

Test do not measure a person true intelligence. Children who come from very poor areas do not have the same opportunity as those who come from rich white neighborhoods which I gather you do. Of course you would get a good education. Many children are rob of their true potential and written off in society.

@peanutbutterblah yeah i saw that comment too, it was too silly to even bother. but in all seriousness, even with the extra awarded points for those programs, it doesn't solve the monsterous issue with the public school system in the country. the scales aren't really tipping in anyone's favor when 90% of the students coming out of a system with sub-par standards can't even meet basic requirements for entry. even if planning to pay their own way.

Here's the thing though, I am a product of the "public school system," and I turned out just fine. I didn't even put an effort into it, In-fact, I was a terrible student. I would skip classes to hang-out and smoke pot, but when it came time for College, I cleaned my act up. Now, I don't get any financial assistance, so I have to pay for college, which is problematic because I have to work for money. ..Do you see what I am getting at?

I'm from NYC and the School I attended had a predominantly African American population. And I don't know what you mean by "paying the price," because my life is actually pretty good. I did absolutely nothing in High School, yet I have a current GPA of 3.7 in College and I will soon receive a bachelors in Bio-chemistry. In-fact, I plan to further my education and get a Masters.

@peanutbutterblah paying the price as in literally. you said you didn't get aid and i said that it's your fault. your story meant nothing. the reason they cant pass the standardised tests is because the books are out of date if there are any books at all. teachers not having proper supplies to give proper classes. even students who are considered to be doing "well" in those environments don't learn enough to pass a standardised test set by the state. it's not a hard concept to grasp.

I was trying to draw parallels between Black students with their so called "public school" education, and my educational background. Like you said, I did not receive scholarship, nor did I qualify for financial aid, because I am not a Black minority. Yet I am successfully and African American students who get full scholarships (even when they have poor grades), full grants and financial aid, do not find success (according to you).

@a10miletooth I have addressed all your points, and I honestly don't know why you are having trouble understanding what I am writing. You also don't understand how statistics work; on average there are more black people with lower IQ's then there are of other races, and this is a fact.
Additionally, I am sure there are White people with lower IQ's but their median is still higher then that of African Americans.
