I just wanted all Railroad Earth fans to know that Railroad Earth will soon be visiting Long Island, on the waterfront at Shorefront Park in Patchogue.
They are performing July 16th 2011 along with over 35 other performers that weekend. There will be plenty of other rock, jam, folk, country, blues & “Americana” genres as well. It’s going to be the most affordable festival in the Northeast.
Definitely check it out, there’s more information on the Great South Bay Music Festival website!!!
This is the one song that truly transports me back to the cool breezy summer days on the lake with my girl and my bros out on the boat rocking along the waves. It makes me transcend the human body and feel like I am viewing it all from high above. Maybe it's not meant to. But it does for me at least.
There aren't too many Jam Bands/Bluegrass bands i don't like- my 1st show was the Dead and i've been to 18 Hookahvilles, but today i found one i don't like: Railroad Earth.
But hey, i'm sure they make a nice living n make a lot of people happy, so ya gotta love that!
@woostergino the dead were also my first show and since then i havent looked back. jam bands and bluegrass are my life. not sure if you've been to a railroad show but i think its one of those bands you see once and are hooked. sounds like you got a good taste in music so i suggest you give these guys a chance because its the new kind of bluegrass/rock i have been looking for after listening to yonder for years.. look up their song "mighty river" wakarusa version on here is great.. good luck!
@bnelly911 Yah, I'm going to Bonnaroo next week, and they're gonna be there. I actually found them by looking at the attendee list for Bonnaroo, and they sound freakin' awesome! I love their bluegrassy-Celtic sound. Definitely a band I'll be checking out at the festival.
Mighty River's a really great song, but I think my favorite is Potter's Field
This is really cool. Really liking the music!

No question they are cool, but I think they would be cooler without the horn. Steve Winwood might could use it?

These guys are incredible! They have somethin most bluegrass jam bands are lacking: good solid lyrics.
