This is a big issue as it shows the truck is getting the impact direcly at tis front suspecntion and the engine, not the body to absorb the impact, and same goes for the civic as it rides under the fords imapct zone and smacks straight in tis hard parts, now if only car endgneers did acomedate the design to make the trucks adopt to impact with a lower car.

Shure the ford loosk unscaved but imagine the neck injuries you resive as it dosent propperly absorb the force.

If you crash into a newer, smaller car, you (and I) would take the brunt of it because the smaller cars are stiffer and punch right through the big old trucks. I'm surprised you can even get 11 MPG, I get 14 and I have a V6 2wd with a 5-speed manual, the most efficient combination offered.

I hit a Civic like that with my old Ram 3500 van. (road was sheet ice and he was speeding in my lane~ I hit the brakes so hard that the rear brake cylinders blew out)

The van had a small dent in the front bumper.

The Civic was totaled. Hood crushed, engine started to roll under the body, airbags went off.. etc.

I was going 20mph.

Even cities like Stockholm and Oslo get barely get half as much snow as cities like Boston, Denver, Minneapolis, Chicago etc, and cities like Buffalo, Syracuse and Montreal receive 4 or even 5 times the amount of snow Stockholm sees every year. Many Americans still don't actually need a truck, but there is more of a reason.
