  • Can I get details about how did you wired q-filter in your guitar? Did you wired with caps/pots as eq system or just replaced as tone caps? By the way, this is really cool demo, and now I really want to try q-filter. Thanks a lot!

  • @B81411 you can find it on their website

  • Sorry- I forgot to ask if you (or anyone out there) can elaborate on any differences with the Q filter and a TBX control???

  • @CDNBOBify I don't think they are the same. The TBX mod (treble bass expander) looks different.... tho it sounds like it does the same thing. The Q-filter is fitted into a small black box so i don't really know whats going on in there. The TBX looks like an easy mod to do. Shouldn't cost to much either. I say try them both out.

  • thank you for this informative video- I want to put it in a Start at the bridge to cut the treble- do you know if this is possible with the wiring so it's still connected to the middle pu too ? and if so where can I fine the schematic- Bill's is confusing.

  • Very nice demo. The Q-filter is an awesome thing to have.

  • I'm so glad you took the time to record this demo - this is just about the only Q Filter recording on the net!

Would you mind answering a couple of questions for me? Like, would there be any point in using the Q Filter on a single coil guitar (I was thinking it might add more versitility to an Esquire?). And also, is there a position on the Q Filter that is doesn't add anything into the circuit and just gives you a bypass sound? Thanks very much in advance!

  • @cowie86 I cant answer about single coil. never tried it, sorry. Yes, when its turned all the way up it is by passed. I demo this in the video when im clicking the push/pull pot. no tone loss whatsoever

  • you should do a demo of the Q filter on the bridge pickup!

  • @abueladay1 I don't have the L500 in the bridge but it basically does the same thing. gives it a nice split coil sound when turned all the way down. I wanted to keep the video more about the Bill Lawrence P-Up and Q-Filter.

  • What pickups is that? I know it is an L500 but is it the C the R or the L? I want to get a guitar that good for Jazz/Blues and old school Rock and Roll. I am seriously thinking about putting these with a q-filter in my PRS SE. Any advice you have is appreciated.

  • @PrinceESL Its the R (for rhythm?)

  • @PrinceESL I would put it in any guitar. You really cant go wrong with it especially is you install it with a push/pull pot. Its nothing but good to have in your guitar.

  • Yeah, its really cool. Easy to install (thats relative i guess). Im not going to lie to you though, if you want a strat sound... buy a strat. That knob used to just do split coil. The Q-Filter has a better "split coil" sound then actually splitting the coils (just my opinion) Its a great option for those who mainly use humbuckers (like myself) and only occasionally want to get that glassy, spanky, single coil sound. The best part is all the in between tones that you get!

  • whoa, it makes it sound like an entirely different guitar. that's awesome, especially for les paul types... with this, you might be able to cop a reasonable strat or tele tone.
