Novelty theory is basically just describing evolutionary theory; organisms (or even technology) becoming more adapted to novel surroundings. But this only applies to parts of the universe (like the Earth) where the evolution of complex organisms and technology has taken place. The rest of the universe is disordered (excluding those parts which harbour life). Galaxies are colliding into each other, stars are imploding and planets are being destroyed.
Scientists are puzzled about galaxies not falling apart, that don't have sufficient matter to stay together. Scientists now are looking for supposed dark matter. Galaxies stay together because they WANT to be galaxies. They are incomplete in search for wholeness. The galaxy has an appetite to express itself.
I always love listening to Terence McKenna, its like listening to an intellectual symphony, balancing the linear and non-linear aspects with near perfection.
This man was a synchronistic powerhouse, had full connection to the hyperspacial logos since his first contact in 1971. No sign of slowing down here in this last earthbound interview, never ceasing in his way of thinking. A stream of thought which spanned from 1971 to the 1999 and on into the cosmic ocean beyond was his magnum opus, and not once did he hint at damning that river, ever. A pioneer in every fathomable sense of the word, may all our rivers lead to his domain in the sea of novelty...
@Vertsk8er419 YES HE WAS I am in total agreement Terence had a way of interpeting the logos& putting it across to his listeners in more undestandable terms
@Vertsk8er419 Nicely said mate. I think that one of the beauties of this man is that he would probably brush off such very much deserved praise and say that he is just an ordinary man and that each one of us can be a visionary and a pioneer. We just need to apply our courage, will and creativity to it, and we will surf the channel of the logos too.
Terence. I love you. You have changed my life good Bard. Thank you.
