  • I got some magnat viva 2 speakers here.. Damn they are old! but they sound nice =O

  • love your jbl collection :D

  • Cool

Makes me want to take a relook at my old fishers I bought in 1979. Played them at a party at Oklahoma University across from the stadium where I lived and they carried across the campus! Also have an old Hitachi 300 watt receiver.

If I don't do something with them, do you know someone who would be interested in them? they are HUGE.

  • Nice set of ESS's. Id give both of my balls for those!

  • I have the Onkyo receiver at 1:40. I checked some forms but I still don't know it's a good amp or not. The speaker out in the backs a little tricky. The left channel goes out when you move the terminal. Is it worth replacing?

  • im so jealous

  • these r amazing speakers

  • i nearly cryed o shame that they werent mine

  • which amp is this at 1.40 and 1.49 ??

  • the only good thing abt new speakers is their looks, they cant sound they way vintage speaker did!

  • r those mission speakers at 0:51 ???????????????? nice collection btw

  • fuck those speaker, just chilling to the bee gees you know how it is!

  • vintage speakers = the best

  • @scrammy18 I couldnt agree more. nuff said.

  • what are the subs at 6:05 ate they cerwin vegas??

  • @skatecodered yeah

  • I got a pair of Mach Twos at 0:08 in 1991 for a graduation present. They were Radio Shack's best at the time and rated at 160 watts continuous with ferrofluid cooling for the tweeter and midrange. I would sometimes show people their power by turning the bass all the way up on the receiver while turning the midrange and treble all the way down. Put in a tape of Beck's "Loser" and the walls would rattle and when you put your hand by the blow holes you could feel the bursts of air shooting out!

  • @scrammy18 Thank god they don't make em like this anymore. Speakers from this era sucked. They were very bass heavy, had no mids, and very distorted highs. The front baffles were so wide that the speakers didn't image and if you drove the woofers too hard, they would bottom out like mad.

Look at that JBL that placed the mid and tweet on a horizontal plane, can you say lobing? Yuck!

  • @Audioholics Im assuming you heard a pair of large Advents and just jumped to conlusions. All of my vintage speakers image just fine, and have good midrange, and clear highs.

  • WOW, audio deleted on a video about SPEAKERS! Thanks WMG you fucking greedy assholes.

  • Nice! 5/5 and check my audio ;)

  • dude i have a pair of them hpm 100 they pound hard

  • @bigboy496 yeah they where one of the best speakers poineer made in my opinoin.

  • @lawlmann yup true i gave one of them 500 wats an didint even move it hardly

  • nicecollection

  • The speakers at 4:10 were from the Infinity SM line that Crutchfield used to sell exclusively.

  • Beautifull!!

  • Thanks to everyone that has post a comment and has view my video.

  • does anyone know what the brand is of the speakers at 4:10???

  • @eifeijf

This are infinity speakers, studio monitors.

  • tnx;)

  • I was lucky enough2 find a pair of hpm 100 and the guy also had a extra pair of replacement hpm woofers he threw in when i bought them!I will never part with them, and its funny cause the hpm 40's is the ones i like more because of the small size and large output!!!!

  • Me and a friend each have a mint pair of the Pioneer HPM 100's - I bought mine new in the 80's & he got his used in mint cond. -- they are some extremely well built speakers, cast aluminum woofer frame, massive magnet, speakers are HEAVY-!- and still sound great. Theres a version of the HPM 100's with rubber woofer cone surrounds, these are to be avoided if possible, they dried out and are difficult to get repaired correctly. Ill never sell mine-- I hope.

  • gangtwanger, those are Infinity SM cabinets. they compete with house rockers like cerwin vegas. now if you want rally nice sounding vintage speakers, go with any of the large Infinity RS or Kappa cabinets. Make sure they have Emit tweeters in them.

  • Does anyone know what speakers are at 4:10? It's's a picture of 2 different-sized pairs - 3-way's and 4-ways with beautiful, dark, walnut veneers - my kind of speakers if they sound great.

  • what speakers are at 3:02 - 3:20

  • the one s at 3:02 are pioneer hpm 100s.

  • You can find big speakers today, but they pale in compairson to their ansestors.

  • @MSNIMSM LMAO. you're a moron. just because something is "vintage" doesnt make its good

find any pair of $1000 speakers form 1970 and ill show you a pair of $100 ones from 2000's that sound 5 times better

  • @krypekeeper Im talking about best buy shit. Moron. How bout I kick your ass? The only reason I have vintage speakers is becuase I got them for free or cheap and I bet my system would kill your shitty little HTIB or Logitech sound system you got. lmao. Fuckin cunt.

  • @MSNIMSM lmao what you got, you get a good deal on some white van speakers

  • @krypekeeper Fuck white van speakers. You probobly dont have a system so I would keep your mouth shut.

  • @MSNIMSM as of this second, yes i have Logitech, Z2300. as of next month i will have my marantz receiver and polk tsi200's

  • @krypekeeper I see you have poor taste, or just bad ears. LOgitech? LOL. Polk tsi 200s? Big deal Polk aint what it used to be,but hey, for a guy makin minimum wage i guess you cant expect too much.

  • @MrGoochos Polk > any shit you got. now go give your dad back all his speakers that most likely dont even work.

  • @krypekeeper I cant stand when people brag about their shitty audio systems lol! people say so much shit about logitechs plastic shit! I have boston acoustics towers with 12 inch woofers and radiator in each speaker and they sound amazing with my Yamaha reciever.

  • @krypekeeper Older audio sounds so much better than new age rigs. At least I think so. Just seems to have better bass response and UMPH,

  • 4:10 wow! nice........

  • pioneer hpm-100's for sale ?? mid and tweeters on both r pushed in but 100 working order... interested ??

  • thats an awesome collection. Pioneer HPM 100s are amazing. i have a pair of them as well as Klipsh KG 4s which i love too, but the pioneers have more detail. Now if i could only get my hands on a high end Pioneer sx series receiver or a Sansui G series, i would be set.

  • got a sx-1300 for sale 40 bucks

  • Dude nice collection! I found a pair of Advent's in a dumpster a couple months ago, they need re-foaming though.

  • nada mejor que los modulares,, buen videro

  • Cool. Too bad that true Hifi is forgotten. after getting used to hearing tiny speakers then going back to hearing the sound quality of a top of the range 80's stereo system, makes the modern stuff sound mediocre in comparison, well admittedly some contemporary sound systems actually sound pretty good, the Ipod dock made by Bose is amazing, but small speakers can only do so much in sound quality and SPL, the only problem is not everyone has that much space.

  • 0:31 zenith?

  • Any opinions on Altec-Lansing "Voice of the Theater?"

  • Those things are beasts! What ya looking for them to do?

  • I don't know, shatter the windows! Actually I guess I'd make those my front speakers and make my rears my HPM-100s (that is if I can ever find a pair of the Altecs at a decent price)!

  • Altecs can get expensive, but the sound soo good.. shattering windows, sounds like what i want to do =p

  • I once heard tell of someone with 2 pairs of the "Voice of the Theatre" speakers to go with their 70s quad receiver. Imagine that! One day I wouldn't mind owning a pair but it would set me back $1500 at the very least., probably more in several years.

  • really... with that quad.. hmm well, prices of everything are going to keep rising, unless there is some breakthrough..but hey.. give it some time maybe it will turn around.

  • Perhaps if I ever see an old movie theater closing I'll go make them an offer!

  • Oh yeah, jump on it.

  • i wish 5:37 were mine

  • Those look nice!

  • which ones?

  • The ones that LOOK like the ones in 0:35

  • 5:15 - 5:20

    esotech?

  • wow nice house and speaker collections! :)

  • JBL is vintage audio? I didn`t know that lol

    vintage4ever!

  • I just bought a pair of JBL L150... Wonderful!

  • yeah i'm looking for not old speakers but speakers with 10" or bigger woofers and i cant find anything unless its a dj speaker but their like $300!yeah nowadays its these small things but i want the big speaker effect!

  • radioshack has some nice pa speakers with 10" woofers for 52 bucks, check em out

  • I had a pair of those Pioneer speakers- HPM 100s

Pluses: HPM 100s are very dynamic, with an even response sounding snappy, detailed, and wide range from lows to highs. They also go very loud without distress.

Minuses: they don't sound-stage or image very well, and the bass can sometimes sound boomy and colored. They also have some assorted resonances that make them sound somewhat grainy and lacking in subtlety.

But you can't get a much better party, dance or home theatre speaker.

  • It was generally believed that the Japanese did not have a clue when it came to speaker design and sound. Even though they made very good electronics and good Tvs, they just did not have a clue about speakers,

  • Yes, but interestingly they hired Bart Locanthi of JBL fame to design the HPM series for Pioneer. As a result the HPMs sounded much better than the majority of Japan speakers. They sound quite a bit like the better JBL models.

But by far my favorite vintage Japanese box speakers are Yamaha NS 1000s with their beryllium coated drivers. Very advance and awesome to look at as well as listen to.

  • that's a weird speaker at 0:35

  • dude, no speaker is weird. That a coaxial PA speaker. Those are nice. Ever go to a concert, and hear the loud music? Well, most of the time these speakers are included. I bet u didnt know that.

  • concert?! dude its an in-wall speaker but it isnt wierd

  • Yeh, it isn't, and my dad is in a band and they use speakers just like those, they aren't in-wall, they are very powerfull, and I have seen plenty in lots of concerts...

  • they`re looking like in wall pa speakers.

    how b ig are them?

  • Yes, they are, the ones my dad has are 15's.

They are VERY powerfull and when he plays them they sound very clear and LOUD. If he turns them up your stomach will cave in. :P

    I love them

  • thats a awesome speaker,lol

  • Gut

  • i got the speakers at 3:03 and damn do they sound good

  • yea pioneer is realy a good brand

  • The speakers that were shown from 5:14 - 5:33, I have seen them at a thrift store before. The guys were loading them off the truck, so I asked how much they wanted.. They said $10 and I could have them, because they really didn't want to have to mess with them any more than they had to. The only thing was, they were in really really poor shape. I also couldn't fit them in my jeep, so I didn't take them.

I also would like to say Nice collection you have. JBL for the win!

  • That is a great deal. As long as they work that is the most important thing. Those Heil AMT tweeters are great, ESS for the win!

  • Speakers at 4:11?

  • They are Infinity Speakers. The bigger ones look like the SM-152 model. The smaller ones look like SM-120 Model. Don't take me 100% on this, because I am only going by what I can see in the picture :P

The model numbers could be up or down a few numbers, if I am wrong, but I believe my guesses are pretty close.

  • 0:30 .... are those JVC S-66 woofers ???????

  • Some? Geez...

  • Can I have the Heils please?

    :D

  • lol

  • i buy them all!!! :D

  • There was some porn on here about 2 years ago. People wer sneaking small clips on. Eventually they were caught and removed. Really cool collection. UBL are really good speakers. Totyota puts that brand in their high end vehicles. My parents have some Marantez speakers from like 1980 and they still work great.

  • I never knew that porn existed on YouTUBE!!:-)

A real stunning collection. I am very very jealous!!

  • Those are some really nice speakers, and I like the songs.

  • does any one out there have a system and speakers that i can have cuz i realy need one but i have no money. so plz plz plz can some one reply to me.

  • I was flipping through channels and noticed a tigris video, seems they like high end audio.I was looking out for big butt latinas.

  • not bad

  • nice hpm 100 I got a pair and they sound awesome

  • Don't tell me you have sansui The tower speakers!!! I wonder how much they weigh and how tall they are!?

  • my first set of vintage audio speakers were small advents still got them now i got small advents and large advents both powered by a sansui 771 reciever i also got a hk 330 nocturne and b and a pioneer sx 650 and a crappy yamaha 220? reciever that dont work i been into vintage audio for a long time but its really about the music

  • awesome speaker collection! i collect vintage audio too.

  • The Realistic Mach II's were the speakers I just had to have way back in the day. But sadly I was a kid into heavy metal and my parents would come up with every excuse in the good parenting handbook not to buy them. So no Mach II's for me. : ( Today my small pair of Warfdale book shelf loudspeakers would run circles around the Mach II in sound quality. Still those giant 15" woofers and those horn tweeters sure look impressive.

  • the first pair of speakers, i have, the realistic mach II speakers system, just refoamed them
