  • A lot of non carrier planes were launched from carriers, they just didnt land back onboard! :-)

  • B24's???? Hopefully that's just a typo, since they were B25's.

  • in ww2 did they use wires to slow down and catapaults to take off?

  • @looneycrewvideos They don't have catapaults, they just hold the brakes and rev the engine then let go and hopefully the aircraft is up to speed to take off by the end of the runway not too far ahead. They hve wires however.

  • @looneycrewvideos the small escort carriers had a small catapult to get the planes off not like today with the Nimitz class carriers

  • my grandpa flew a F6F Hellcat

  • @AirlineWiz My Grandpa may have repaired that Hellcat

  • I have always thought real carrier ops were not possible. Anyone with enough balls to do it wouldn't fit in the cockpit!

  • well, watch and see how it's done then...

  • @slrman Remember that Doolittle's raiders all launched from a carrier in B-24's. Not carrier based or designed aircraft.

  • My grandma built the Gruman Avenger in Baltimore during World War 2....

  • well, congratulations then...
