Thanks for this! An informed presentation of various psych components & how those play a role on the individuated & collective level re the manufacture of consent has been largely absent the past decade as vast numbers of people have been circumstantially forced to take stock of dire situations they're inexperience with-the context of which isn't readily found within mainstream discourse, so many become indifferent, or haven't a voice to articulate their views, ideas & feelings. there are words that have been created to discredit legitimate questions and concerns and that automatically put a person in a suspicious light .Words such as homophobic,anti semetic,conspiracist.these are all words that when used seem to discredit what people have to say automatically .You'll notice all the politicians when asked pertinant questions always allude to conspiracies theorists as if to negate any legitimacy.God bless.

I was wondering if someone was going to point out that Ms Manwell's lecture about the physological traits that people are prone to are common to all people including truthers like herself- good to see that someone did point it out. The lecture was presented with the implied assumption that this was not the case and that they only affect those who don't accept the 'inside job' ideas and are in fact the only reason that they don't accept them- what other reason could there be?

Dr. Jenkins made the important - and serious - point during our Q & A: That we too are susceptible to these mechanisms that create and sustain faulty beliefs and that we must carefully consider our own beliefs to make sure that we do not succumb to the inadequacies we accuse others of. I agreed fully and reminded him that I test and retest my own beliefs daily because I am aware of this and use the measure of falsifiability. Laurie

@cwlldoran I clearly stated that it is neither valid nor accurate to claim that just because a person is resistant to exploring evidence of alternative accounts that they are 'in denial'. Ad hominem attacks are illogical. Of course there exists a complex - and biologically ingrained - belief system that underlies a person's response to information that parts of the official account are factually incorrect. Excellent. Beautiful young female scientist and psychologist, too.

As she said, time lacked, to be able to say more than she did when she could say plenty more ; but, her presentation was excellent. And I'm not sure, but believe that her part particularly fits well with the one by Professor Peter Dale Scott ; though have only listened to the clips with Professor Niels Harrit, Senator Mike Gravel and Prof. PD Scott, so far, so am not sure with respect to what the other speakers said, yet.
