I think Tim is only doing the classical stuff at the beginning, paying tribute in the intro to the original showtune. This one really swings (tho 2 bad about the sound on the bass :~(
The song was written by Harry Archer and Harlan Thompson for the 1923 Broadway show "Jessie James." And yes, the bass is too loud - the sound guy should have caught that.
I disagree about Tim's playing - I love it! He's about as near to Grappelli as we have today, but with his own style. Really swings.
