  • 0:07 = "Oh hell no" *plonk*

  • Oh my god LOL! Thats so amazing

  • possums are adorable in their own way. They can't help how they look. God made them and He doesn't make junk!!

  • That's a clever possum, unless that scene was well rehearsed beforehand.

  • Lol I posted a video last week of a opossum at work. He didn't play dead though he just hissed lol

  • this just made me laugh so much,....

  • lol just watched over the hedge and had to watch a possum playing dead, such a geek i no.....

  • Oposums are legends :))

  • Playing dead may work as a defense against a curious dog, however it doesn't work well against a Toyota.

  • Is this real??? lol EPIC

  • That's cute. there are possums in my backyard, I should do this.

  • AWwwww so cute!!!

  • Hi Mrs.Thurman Nathan Wyatt here

  • Rocky sent me

  • LOLOLOL i don't know why but that made me laugh XD

  • Rockyroad612 send me :3

  • @Rowleyy lol i was just about to say that! damn!

  • @fredmomma hehe :)

  • rockyroad612!

  • Rockyroad612 send me here! xD

  • Rockyroad!

  • @Nnamtro505 What he means is "playing dead" is the wrong term. Its an involuntary reaction to a sensed threat - they actually do lose consciousness, and regain it anywhere from 40 minutes to 4 hours after losing it. Their body involuntarily creates all the symptoms of death - rigor mortis, putrid smell, even the mouth/eyes half open. So no, they don't voluntarily act out what a dead opossum would look like. I think that's what he was trying to say.

  • Possum: "Get away from me. I'm dead."

  • i knew that possum was going to do that

  • bitch leave these animals alone. hope u die in hell

  • @nerdy5746 Lol lmfao lololol roflmao

    trollin'

  • @busterbrownation i know righ lol hahahaa

  • Opossums aré great thet keep ur house pest free, i read they even eat rats. Just leave it alone and it won't bother u.

  • lmao i flipped out of my chair laughing when he fell over and played dead :P

  • Lol. Nice. But I would be carefull about the dog though. I wouldn't want my canine friends getting rabies. Funny video though.

  • Apparently when Opossums "play dead" they have actually passed out/fainted because they are so terrified.

  • there was once one hanging out on my brickwall of my back yard. and i shot it with a paintball and it just still sat there, eventually it fell off the wall and played dead on the floor. my dog had it in its mouth but i picked it up with a broom and put it outside. i'm sure he was fine.

  • You killed the possum with your F****** mind

  • I SAW ONE IN THE PARK.. WE TRIED TO SCARE IT SO IT WILL PLAY DEAD, BUT WE GOT A HISS AND ALMOST A BITE INSTEAD

  • @reallylongusername03 That's because possums are good at distinguishing an actual danger from a bunch of pussies.

  • @KillerFreya was that an insult?

  • The jerks actually told the dog to get the opossum grr.

  • @2005rim I'm an English major so I like pointing out grammatical errors when people try to insult others. Let me phrase your sentence the way it should have been phrased. "For your information, you're mean....actually I can't even make a coherent sentence out of the rest of that....you suck!

  • people think he playing dead but he really fainted ....they faint when they scared of sum

  • lol who would think such an ugly, nasty looking thing would be capable of such deception?

  • looks like it passed out

  • inteligente animal !

  • i dont see how dogs possibly think theyre dead when they do that u can see them breathing

  • @bigbirdgrappler60 My dog thought a opossom was dead once too. I googled it, and it turns out apossoms release an odor that smells like death. Sounds ridiculous, but when a creature dies, there is a specific odor that animals such as dogs recognize. But yeah, as a defense mechanism, opossoms have that capability to relase that odor so when an other animal smells that odor, they'll not bother it because they think the it's dead.

  • @musiq1001 Unless an wolverine will come by and eat the mf.. the wolverines are scavengers, you know.. they will eat anything..

  • the best way to get a possum to stop playing dead is to rub it all over your face

  • Is that possum 'playing dead' or he just reach his Orgasm and passed out? LOL

  • Lol the way it fell over was hilarious

  • haha its like a fainting goat =P

  • that rocky doesn´t kill a fly hhahahaa

  • hahaha this is great he just falls over at 0:05 it looks so funny

  • @LittleEmoBoy001 i just watched your michael jackson video and i think that you are just jealous that he didn't suck on your little emo balls. anyone with hair like that deserves to get kicked in the balls not people that actually have a life and play with their dog outside. get out of your room and stop taking videos of yourself. oh i forgot the sunlight might burn that emo pale skin of yours. sorry virgin.

  • @Nnamtro505 LOL you pwned his ass.

  • @Nnamtro505 wow, I just checked his channel too... Terrifying. People should look in the mirror before making fun of anyone else.

  • @Nnamtro505 HAHAHA! Nice.

  • @Nnamtro505 epic

  • @LittleEmoBoy001

The voice in this video is golden. You probably don't like it because the joy it brings doesn't fit in with your emo life.

    RESPECT

  • @LittleEmoBoy001 Dude, WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?....This guy fights opossums for a living....I don't think you would want to mess with him.

  • @LittleEmoBoy001 ahhhh big words youre using for a small bitch, dont bother watching this vid if you have a problem with it you vaginal fart

  • i heard there fun to shoot it took me 3 shots to the head and then it finally gave out

  • Some funny ass shit! Lmao!

  • MALISIMO!!!!!!

  • I HOPE YOU WOULDNT REALLY HAVE LET YOUR DOG GET IT AS YOU SAY ON THE VIDEO

  • When I was younger a friend and I noticed one on the curb after we got off the school bus. We poked it with a stick for a while. It's eyes were closed just like the one in the vid. His mouth was open and tongue was hanging out. There was a beer bottle laying near it. We put it between his two arms and he looked like he passed out from being drunk. We laughed for a while got bored and wrestled in the front yard(WWF was big back then) Walked back over to the opossum all that was there was the beer

  • Your a fucken freak

  • POSSUM TIPPER POSSUM TIPPER

  • @undeadone69 Wut

  • thats ugly

  • Opossum's nervous systems are so bad that they faint when they are scared. They can't help it.

  • Whenever a opossum plays dead I take my foot and I ghetto stomp it

  • Perfect time to box him em' up and take em' off so he don't get hurt!♥

  • Lol " freaky looking thing"

  • its crazy to think of all the different survival techniques animals have evolved. nature is amazing.

  • l0l thats cuute n funny i heard dopoddily also that whn they play dead that means there pooing idk if its true but its funny <3

  • LOL it just drops lmfao

  • its an instinct

  • why do they play dead?

  • @Icey314 To Avoid Predators Because Sometimes They Know They Can't Escape So They Act Dead

  • haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • LOL

  • hahaha

  • Hahaha, I like the way the possum just gets stiff and falls over like a plastic toy. lol

  • Not wise, for the safety of the opossum OR the dog, to send your dog to "go get him." Fortunately opossums rarely have rabies and do not like to fight, and your dog didn't listen to you.

  • "Get him, Rocky!"

    PLOP lol

  • I experienced this the other night. I noticed something furry laying on the ground when I let my dog out got the flash light and a possum was laying there. I have heard they play dead but I didn't realize to what extent. I got a stick and flipped it over thinking that if it was playing dead it would bite or run off. Nothing. Thought the poor little guy got hit by a car.Went in got the shovel to move the body. Come back and the little bastard was gone! Yup, a possum pulled one over on me.

  • @sweetlovin5678 yeah its what they do best.

  • @sweetlovin5678 Haha, that's a great story.

  • @sweetlovin5678 I found one this morning on the side of my car... did a little research and found that they actually go into a state of shock when they "play dead". body temp drops, go unconscious, and secrete a "dead" foul smell... they wake up within minutes to hours. totally surprised by this!

  • Rocky's evil eye is fearsome!

  • You have a cute voice lol and that creature is funny just flips over lol

  • Another redneck that thinks torturing innocent animals is funny. Yes, we should all laugh at you sending your dog to terrify a defenseless animal. Send him after a litter of newborn kittens next; maybe he'll eat one and we can really get some enjoyment. This video is just ignorant and disgusting.

  • @horseA123 wow man. you're a fucking idiot. haha. get a fuckin life and stop trolling.

  • @horseA123 wow man. you're a fucking idiot. haha. get a fuckin life and stop trolling.

  • @ForcedToSignUp actually "playing dead" is exactly what they do

  • @Nnamtro505 your beagle almost looks just like mine :P

  • @Nnamtro505 What ForcedToSignUp is saying is that when the Opposum is playing dead it happens out of instinct when they are afraid. He is saying that the physiological response is involuntary, rather than a conscious act voluntary act. So to sum it up basically the opposum becomes afraid and can't control itself, instinct takes over and he plays dead or "plays possum".

  • @Nnamtro505 I'm not agreeing with 'forcedtosignup', I don't know much about, but I DO know, it's not a conscious decision. It's a physiological response that is involuntary. Therefore, technically, they're aren't really 'playing dead'. They regain consciousness after a few minutes or so. Sometimes even after hours I think.

  • @saulhudson420 You are totally agreeing with me. That is exactly what I am trying to say here. :)

  • @ForcedToSignUp how long will they play dead?

  • @ForcedToSignUp ur thinking of a goat

  • @ForcedToSignUp actually the pass out from the brain being too active.

  • @ForcedToSignUp actually they pass out from the brain being too active.

  • @ForcedToSignUp i dont know if your serious. but if not WOW great job at being a dumbass!!!

  • @XFuckingNightmareX It's a completely involuntary response. They really do pass out. Before clicking the down arrow on my comment, go to Google and/or Wikipedia and look it up.

  • @ForcedToSignUp Lolwut? Opossums are known for playing dead.

  • @ultimatenick37 That's correct. The point is, they are not actively saying to themselves "I will just lay here and pretend that I'm dead maybe I'll get left alone." They are not "playing." If an opossum stops moving and looks to you like it's "playing dead," it has actually passed out from stress, terror, etc. It is an involuntary response.

Look it up if you don't believe me. I don't know why so many people are having a problem learning something new.

  • @ForcedToSignUp

That makes a lot of sense.

  • @ForcedToSignUp retard

  • @dallasdezbryant Moron. (Who can't read and can't learn.)

  • @ForcedToSignUp HE DID NT PASS OUT DUMBASS HE WAS PLAQYING DEAD!!

  • @dallasdezbryant Idiot.

  • THE ONLY FUCKING WAY I CAN ITS DEAD IF I SEE ITS GUTS OR HEART !!HAHA

  • Hahahahahah... I love possums ..hahahah

  • -flop-

  • i do not understand you have 3 videos and the opossum is in the same spot standing and falling over 3 different times in 3 different events. leads me to think this is fake or setup...

  • that made me LAUGH!

  • LOL narcoleptic rodent xDD

  • When people say drop dead, I don't think this is exactly what they mean.

  • you shouldnt let your dog out like that...some possums can actually FIGHT and use there teeth u know..other than that, this video ROCKS!! a possum comes to my porch at midnight every day and it doesnt play dead OR attack!

  • and the award for best proformance goes to clint eastwood i mean the possum

  • Omg that is awesome!

  • throw water on it XD

  • i hate possums they ate a ducks egg

  • nice if i did not noe that opossums can play dead i would have asked did you train it lol

  • it actually passes out involuntarily. they're marsupials, not rodents. they can't get rabies due to their low body temperature. dogs are more likely to get rabies. beautiful beagle though. looks just like mine. his names spot, though. :)

  • @IAmTheCthulhu Possums can and do carry rabies. A 5-year-old Craighead County child is undergoing a series of shots after being bitten by an opossum that tested positive for rabies.

  • @jedus1 Its so rare for an opossum to contract rabies that your damn dog is more likely to get it. Learn your facts.

  • @IAmTheCthulhu You just went from saying possums cant get rabies to saying its rare. Which is it? Can they or can't they? You're just mad because your ignorance is exposed for the world to see. Admit you're wrong, grow from the mistake and go on with your life.

  • @jedus1 i said they can't because its so rare its unlikely. look it up for yourself. its a fact. their marsupials and thus rarely get rabies. they have to already be sick with a fever for their body temps to be warm enough. like i said though, its more likely for a dog to get it before an opossums does because marsupials blood temps are so low.

  • i wouldve thrown ten mouse traps at that little fuck

  • @timekeeper20ARC your a jackass

  • @theman8083 that may be but at least i admit it

  • I hate europe and socialists!

  • I have one living in the roof, noisy bloody thing.

  • stupid rodent bitches, i pured one playing dead with bleach and it jumped in the air and its hair fell off

  • @lnmannin I wish I could pour bleach on you. Why the hell would you do that?

  • @lnmannin I wish I could pour bleach on you. Why the hell would you do that?

  • @lnmannin its not a rodent. its a marsupial. you know? like kangaroo's and shit. they can't get rabies.

  • @lnmannin you hateful bitch

  • LOL! This one possum comes slinking around our house every night, and no matter how hard I try, the darn thing won't play dead. Stupid possum.

  • lmfao it's TRUE! they do play dead! omg!

  • @KryptonPlayer

Holy crap it IS true o_o.....

    This explains so much movies ;-;

  • freaky looking thing

  • I see some plaing dead, there on the side of the rode though.

  • LOL

  • That is hilarious!!! Those little ugly bastards are all over my backyard (I appreciate them though). I have never seen one "play possum" before. There was one actually dead in my backyard. I thought he was playing possum until the maggots showed up and the decomposing process split it open.

  • Good actor!!!

  • my dogs name is rocky too! XD

  • ha! nice... I used to dislike these little creatures until I started to learn a lot about them; they're awesome and cute (sometimes the ones out in the wild tend to get a bit ugly looking but I assume it's due to certain skin disease they may get)

  • is that possum on a schedule.. is it the same one playing dead on your front lawn 3 times?? Your dog really scares its little heart out everytime! by the way, when you send your dog to "get him" i hope you're not trying to get your dog to attack the poor thing.

  • Aw! that is cute! haha

  • my boyfriend's name is rocky! and i know a guy who can play dead. lol. i can totally relate to this! freaky looking thing!

  • haaaaahah

  • AW!! IT'S SO FUNNY THE WAY HE FELL!!

SOO CUTE! I think God has a great sense of humor!

  • Nope. No humor. No design. It evolved to do just that, since the ones that could fake their own death survived into the next generation to reproduce, passing on their behaviors and traits to the offspring. :)

  • lol...god made it.

  • hahahha

  • this is awesome

  • awesome
