  • using milliput is way easier and easier to sand

  • could we use and old cd case ?

  • .....really? you took the SMOOTH part, sanded it so it would stick to your modded pieces, but then the other side had texture and you cant place your stickers because of the texture when you could have just glued the modded pieces to the textured side to begin with...

  • DUDE YOU WATCH BLEACH AWESOME

  • you watch bleach lol :L

  • What tool did u use to cut the pieces out?

  • For the plastic to use for capping, can i use like a black DVD case but then I'd cut off the unecessery plastic? Great idea btw..

  • could you use glue for plastic models?

  • flush lol but dose it shape shift????

  • @LanceTheBlueKnight

    What about superglue?

  • i use it just because where i live super glue is like 2 bucks and epoxy is like 7 and i havent had problems with super glue. i do use apoxie occasionally but i find it to messy and the fumes get to me

  • what about gorilla glue

  • so could you use regular glue from a bottle? Plz answer.

  • No, no! Absolutely not! White glue is wood glue, it only works if it can soak into what you're gluing. This won't work for plastic.

  • @LanceTheBlueKnight ok thanks, sadly my family and me are snowed in lol so no more supply buying for me for a few hours or weeks. (*I HATE POSTTPONING THINGSS!*)

  • bleach poster ftw

  • Great tutroial Lance! I am so gonna make one of these. However, what would you suggest if you can't get any plastic for the caps?

  • old credit cards? old gift cards...

  • @CubeDude72

I build advanced custom puzzles and modifications. One good alternative is epoxy putty, you can buy it a home depot. Polyurethane resin works as well, but is more expensive.

  • i think you should a member or friend or partner or whatever where you can make videos that are longer that 10 min. i feel bad for you cuz you did this amazing video now you have to divide it up into 10 min segments....

  • Maybe later I'll upload the whole thing as one chunk.

  • it seems alot more sense rather than "chunking" up the entire thing into little bits

  • @grits2hot he is a partner :D

  • you are a beast at sanding.lol

  • 1:00 HOLY!

  • there is not much to say about this...wonderful mod, clean work. just awesome :D

  • fantastic video series! i cant wait for the next one. when will you be posting the next one?

  • nice bleach poster

  • @ManusCelerDei

It's kind of annoying when I spend 100 hours making this video series and half the feedback I get has nothing to do with the video I made.

  • @LanceTheBlueKnight welcome to the internet much?

  • As someone who has published nearly a hundred videos, I hope you are not implying that I don't know how the internet works. Four out of five people don't know how to string words together into coherent sentences... but as for the rest I wish I could hear more constructive comments than "Nice poster in that reflection! I watched your whole 10 minute video, and that's the thing that was most interesting to me."

That doesn't help me make better videos. That makes me feel like I'm wasting my time.

  • I've liked your explanation throughout this series and you've been very concise with your steps. Good video dude :)

  • lol I heard the westonian and ow I get why it says thanks to him in the description

  • If you use liquid polystyrene cement to glue them, it welds them together. No sanding needed, and the bond is stronger than superglue. Downside? it takes 30mins to set and 8hrs to fully cure. I'd just leave it to set overnight.

  • I am ignored.

  • Great tutorial lance Do you mind if I make a video of my capping method? I do like this one though and I may switch eventually

  • @andyhthedrummer

    go for it.

  • could we just place some liquid resin inside the pieces on the flat plastic so it will dry as a seamless part of the puzzle?

  • @InfiniVoid

    I suppose...

  • I now hate the word flush.

  • @Spitsonpuppies

It's an important word. How many times did I say it, did you count? lol

  • I didn't count lol but it was a bit

  • 5 "Flush" and 1 "Flusher".

Anyway what if I do this for a heexagonal dipyramid?

because if I sand the "edges" part down then the middle part of the cap willl be sticking out.

  • nice tutorial...

and i've got a bleach picture in my room, like you

  • "if this lands on the floor your parents will kill you"

    SO TRUE :)

  • "No harder than you would push a key on a keyboard."

that all depends. Am I typing like normal or trying to stop the timer so I can break my PB by .05 seconds? :P

  • haha. Weston's tips and tricks

  • LOL WESTON!!

  • very clever! excellent video

  • Why was Weston talking!?

  • Because Weston, my friend, is the SHIT!

  • "ur parents will kill u" lmao

    awesome capping technique

  • that capping method is sexy...ill try that

  • rubiks brand for the loss!

  • Rubik's brand is actually really, really good.

  • yea they are, but for speedsolving, it can be as good as a c4y diy

  • that is a great idea. nice job

  • Lol Weston sounded like he was forced to say that.

  • hey lance, have you thaught about ordering thininer abs online? i think i am going to, capping pieces like this is going to save my ass in the long run :D

    -thanks

  • That's a really good idea, I never would've thought of that and it makes this mod so much easier.

  • flush lol

  • very nice method, however I think that I would rather cut my piece down a little more and then let the cap add the extra height instead of sanding it to make it flush, since this creates a barrel that isn't exactly proportional to what it was supposed to be.

  • Yes, in hindsight this is what I should have done.

  • You still live with your parents?

  • Great tutorial so far! It's so good, I'm tempted to try making it myself because you make it seem so simple.

Oh, and I love the description's fix for the "impatient person" so to speak, lol!

  • ima make one of these sooner or later

  • Bleach poster FTW!

  • why are you complainin about epoxy? did some pisst you off about it?

  • @saintlavin Epoxy and Epoxy Putty are two different things.

  • ok then :)

  • Epoxy is the glue...

Epoxy putty is like this nasty clay stuff that you mix together, and it smells HORRIBLE. Most people use this clay to fill in the hole, and then it dries and they sand it flat. It's a gigantic pain. Capping, in my limited experience, it way, way, way, way better. Makes the puzzle look better in the end too.

  • i know i've used it before, one of my centre caps got lost and i tried molding this thing for hours and it turn out to be like...... well you know :)

  • why was weston talking

  • @richard9831,

    because he has a mouth.

  • @marcusduck How did you know?!?!

  • lucky guess.

  • yeah o.o

  • ????

  • coming out pretty nice

  • lol weston

  • oh i hope that this its the first comment. awesome video by the way freakin awesome you rock the blue knight

  • awesome dude first comment reply
