  • You all Radiohead fans should thank for David Bowie's existance, otherwise Yorke wouldnt start writing music.

  • It's so ironic that he did an ad for the Grammy's. I mean, the Black-Eyed Peas fucking won a Grammy for "I Gotta Feeling", and yet the lyrics are horrible. And when you see them put Lil Wayne on the spotlight all the time, now that's something to really facepalm about.

  • Thom Yorke reaction when winning the Grammy for "Ok computer": "prrrr..... never saw it and couldn't care less".....

  • My mother said,

    To get things done,

You better not mess with Major Thom! :D

  • hey all, does anyone know how to create this effect in Photoshop?

if u have a tutorial u know or something please help me,

    thanks alot!!

  • what the heck is with the kill bill vol 4 thing? please tell me that i'm not the only who saw that.

  • from what i know..kill bill vol 4 is a song from a group called Modeselektor. i know that thom likes them, so...

  • it was something thom yorke did with modeselektor

  • @ztoigo he didn't have anything to do with the song "kill bill vol. 4". You're thinking "The White Flash"

  • What a great man! :)

  • of all the "music make us" videos this is the best.

could anyone upload this in HD, some guy uploaded the rihanna video in HD and i can't believe that no one has uploaded this in HD!!!

and another thing , who is the guy that speaks??

  • THOM. YORKE.

  • award for most inappropriate voiceover ever

  • Why? What's wrong with it?

  • Good thing the guy isn't in the voiceover industry huh ^^

  • lol that really didbt look like him

  • You'd better not mess with major thom (yorke)

  • do you think that thom yorke cares if radiohead didn´t won that album of the year grammy?

do you think that radiohead cares about winning awards?

they care for doing the best music that they can and its very clear

also the grammy have lost his credibility since many years ago

so dont say who should have won the grammy

    its pure shit

  • woah! I sooo didnt see that one coming, totally caught me by surprise. the ending was crazy, but great. loved every minute of it.

  • C'mon guys. You know nobody wins these arguments. If you like Radiohead, great. If you don't, great. Let's all listen to what we want and get on with it. Taste in music is one of the most subjective things on the planet. There's no point spouting "this is crap" or "these guys ripped off these guys" or "you probably listen to shit".

  • & sorry, I love Radiohead but comments on "not knowing how to listen" and against "regular people" and "bullshit catchy pop tunes" are fucking laughable bullshit. Radiohead agree w/ me, they are happy being a pop band, call themselves that, and they like pop music. They just challenge things in their own way.

  • radiohead influences and provokes thought, change, difference...grammys don't see that. plant n krauss suck. obviously the grammy choosers dont know shit about the pulse of america. and u2 just rips off radiohead today...they havent made a good album since achtung

  • um....

  • I didn't know that Plants album was a COVER album!!!! NOW I´M PISSED OFF!!!! IT'S SO FUCKING OBVIOUS THAT THE INDUSTRY IS SO THREATEN BY RADIOHEAD... THEY'RE AFRAID OF THEM!!!!!1 HAHAHAHAHAHA..... kEEP YOUR FUCKING GRAMMY ASSHOLES.... RADIOHEAD RULES!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHHA

  • wow, Hancock won for a cover album as well. doesnt make any sense

  • FYI radiohead won the grammy for best alternative album....it just wasnt televised

  • there was no way the grammys would give this...erm, 2007 album/slap-in-the-record-company's-face an award. Thom and co screwed the labels out of big money!

But at least they didn't lose to Coldplay. I may have shot myself after seeing Chris Martin's smug face.

And I used to like that fellow...sheesh.

  • Reckoner is incredible

  • Radiohead is head and shoulders above ALL bands today. They dont have radio friendly music and regular people just like bullshit catchy pop tunes. they dont know how to listen. in rainbows was clearly the best album but im glad plant won over all others

  • Radiohead already are a part of rock's heritage and you can hear a big part of music before them in their music, which is common for most 'great' bands and musicians. About genres; different genres have different qualities and Radiohead do combine a lot of those qualities, but those of classical music and jazz are present in them and not in most other bands in other genres imo.

  • Your comment illustrates your own ignorance about Radiohead fans.

  • RADIOHEAD IS THE BEST BAND IN THE WORLD!!!How could they give this award to Raising Sand

    Robert Plant & Alison Krauss???

  • They deserved it too. I didn't mind that Radiohead lost to them. At least, they have real talent. Both In Rainbows and Raising Sand deserved to win. Now, it would hurt if Radiohead lost to some shitty stuff like Ne-Yo or Coldplay...

  • Agree. In Rainbows probably never stood a very good chance, but glad it lost to Plant/Krauss rather than the other nominess.

  • Raising Sand is a great album, but it's classic Grammy material in that it's not too edgy, it's covering old songs, and old people can listen to it. See also: Herbie Hancock's terrible Joni Mitchell tribute album that got Album of the Year in '07.

It just bugs me that Robert Plant is getting a Grammy for a collaboration covers album and not for anything he did in Led Zep.

  • Grammys how come you end up where you started? How come you end up where you went wrong? How could you NOT give Radiohead Album of the Year? I think your ad campaign shoulda been "Music Makes Us MONEY".

  • i agree with you dearmrsmustard

gwyneth should be in love with thom yorke lol

by the way even the "magnificent" u2 and Sir paul mccartney were so small if you compare them with radiohead´s show

  • Comment removed

  • 15 step was totally awesome

no other band or artist can compare to the creativity of radiohead

  • Radiohead was so fucking awesome in the Grammys! Best performance of the night. Total brilliance. They owned almost everybody else. That boring Chris Martin should take some notes. Maybe the crappy Coldplay could learn something from Thom and his band. The best: Gwyneth Paltrow introduced Radiohead. Now, that's called real irony!

  • 15 step makes me :' ) and it was brilliance tonight

    viva Radiohead!

  • ashes to ashes is so good.

  • Thank God 15 Step was good.

  • who gives a damn if they win. the grammys have no artistic credibility whatsoever. zilch. none. the mercury prize yes. grammy, no. they are money awards. u2 won 5 of them for their crap last album, says it all.

  • I have a sneaking suspicion that Radiohead is finally gonna get the Grammy lovin' they have deserved for so very long. I still can't believe Kid A lost album of the year to Steely Dan...

  • Radiohead makes music that makes us. lots of other bands make music that makes us. however, most of the bands that the Grammys honor suck. Raconteurs and Radiohead better win

  • Thom Yorke is a genius

  • did someone seriously just compare thom yorke.... with chris martin?

    that's so insulting to yorke.

  • Oh yes Thom on Grammys really a rare event so i must watch it

  • A reason to watch the Grammys. Radiohead rocked this year. The release online of In Rainbows was as brilliant as the music. NO album deserves the "Album of the Year" more. An incredible tour, always encouraging creative video/musical artists to reuse/remix-They are the real deal-all about the music. Song has to be 15 Step-hear the marching snare drums? Sorry, Reckoner and House of Cards= no marching feel. Bring on the drumsticks! Yeah!

  • i'm so happy radiohead's performing at the grammys!!! :D i didn't know they were until yesterday when i found this; i agree with mandaboosongs.

  • "music that makes us" ... wow I love this this year's ad campaign for the Grammy!! it sends such a positive message and it's inspirational too

  • Comment removed

  • it's 15 step with the USC marching band

  • yes it is thats been confirmed now

  • what is the song in the background?

  • it's called "Reckoner" by Radiohead off of thier newest album "In Rainbows" which is nominated for album of the year.

  • search "Reckoner live" to hear them play sick versions of that song. a talking cat & bird told us they may be playing "15 step" Sunday.

  • no not 15 step, I bet it's house of cards or hopefully Reckoner! Either way, can't wait. Jonny in 15 step is redic!

  • If they don't win album of the year I will never watch the grammys again.

  • Radiohead playing the GRAMMYs is an awesome milestone - I just hope they beat out Coldplay for record of the year...as Coldplay, although cool in their own way always seemed like a light pop imitation of Radiohead; fingers crossed on that one.

  • you're right, and although i like coldplay as well in rainbows deserves more praise than viva la vida. also, to Blender magazine Chris Martin said "We owe Radiohead a n entire career."

  • I just love him and radiohead!, of course.

I really hope they play the Grammys on normal tv in Australia.

  • After I saw this I watched the 'Ashes To Ashes' video.

Anyways, I thought it was very shocking that they are performing at the Grammys, since they never have before. But I'm very excited to see them on there(I usually don't watch the Grammys but I will this year) and I hope they win; although they'll always be amazing in my book.

  • leave thom and radiohead the fu$% alone. good lord people. people change, time changes people. that's life!. whatever the fu$%^ they want to do, shut the fu$%^& up and grow up. RADIOHEAD RULES!!!

  • i think they choose to play in the Grammy is not because of the fame they wanna get from it. It is probably NOT because of the change in their personalities or whatever too. I guess they probably have something to deal with or handle in LA as well, or certain kinds of movements or interviews or whatever to do in LA. Who knows? Me and my friend also believed they they would not only fly to LA just for the Grammy Awards.

  • hope they play Reckoner at the ceremony.

  • I like reckoner, but I think there is a higher possibility for them to play House of cards.

  • SILENCE please. Why quarrel for this and that?

It's good to hear Thom as the narrator of the ad. I am hpapy enough already.

  • No one told Michael Jackson to just "enjoy life" instead of writing paranoid songs like Billie Jean. Thank god. I agree "corporate artists" is stupid words. Radiohead never even said those words.

  • so if the grammys go out of their way to make a better show, one that doesn't suck, people aren't allowed to evolve their opinion to reflect that? not allowed to give it a chance?

how very dubya of you, pete.

  • kill bill vol. 4 is a modeselektor song...big influence to thom and radiohead for that matter

  • on 0:03 says "kill bill vol. 4", wtf?

  • David Bowie rules.

  • It's nice to see the GRAMMYs trying to put out a better product. And I, for one, appreciate artists who allow their music to be in commercials. It helps make commercials better. If more ads took this approach, maybe we wouldn't be so apt to fast forward them. Well done, GRAMMYs. And thank you, Thom Yorke for putting something beautiful on television. I'll be watching on Feb 8.

  • The Grammys are a not-for-profit organization with over 12,000 voters across the nation who award every type and style of music -- from Zydeco to Heavy Metal. How that could be considered corporate is beyond me.

How this could be conceived as begging for a grammy... well that's just mindless.

And I don't recall making a plea for them to be free of criticism. Just idiotic criticism from people who would find fault in just about everything.

  • why blame them for their fans? I would say the majority of Radiohead fans are not like that. in fact, even among celebrities, not only Kanye, but Jay-Z, Christina Aguilera AND Britney are all Radiohead fans, and these aren't artists known for their elitism. unfortunately the Radiohead fans who are loudest can be elitists. but it's the same with pop fans too- there are some loud ones who would trash Radiohead just cause their songs seem too abstract or Thom doesn't look right or some shit.

  • yeah, this is just a way for Thom (and Stevie Wonder and everyone else) to talk about music they loved, maybe by less famous singers than them, and that's a change for the Grammys imo and a good thing. plus:In Rainbows should win.

  • f@#* the grammys but thom yorke and bowie are legit!

  • Oh Thom, how I adore thee

  • Very very nice.

Such a lovely story about this little childhood moment.

But, erm, how come he's on a climbing frame AND watching TV at the same time?

  • he'd JUST seen

  • Oh, haha! Didn't pick that up 1st time round

  • thank you David Bowie for making Ashes to Ashes, thank you!!!

  • this is awesome!

  • no radiohead will not be playing at the grammy's

we get to watch people we really love.

    such as the jonas brothers

    or katy perry

no, no radiohead. just the great artists that 14 year-old girls love

i guess coldplay wont be bad

    but damn

who wants to hear that shit? i mean the jonas brothers...

the grammy's arent viewed by many middle schoolers last time i checked

  • Thom is lovely <3

  • I like weird. :P

  • Awesome

  • NICE ADVERT
