ehh i play golf, i like playing golf and i do respect golf, but its not the hardest sport. to be as good as tiger woods is a different story but anyone can become a single handicapper if they just play and practice a lot without spending a single day at the gym.

@redralph i think when people say "hardest" they're gaging the amount of skill involved. obviously the vast majority of other sports are physically much "harder," and require more athleticism, yet it is undeniable that golf takes the most skill. a tour pro's ability to strike the ball on the miniscule sweet spot of a blade iron as well as coordinating the slight adjustments to work a fade or a draw is VASTLY more difficult than the majority of people give credit IMO

@jamesi34 Well, of course, different sports have different measurements of difficulty. But not ALL of what the tour pros are doing is technique. It's a combination of course knowledge, body coordination, and physical, and mental strength. Golf just happens to be a sport that requires a little more technique than others, but that doesn't mean that you only have to "work out hard" to be good at tennis or boxing or whatever.

If you have a decent brain and athleticism you can get pretty close too. Just because you have no talent it doesn't mean it's the hardest thing in the world. I agree with you 100% about the impossibility of comparing the difficultly between sports. When I used the term "skill" about striking blades I was using it very specifically as a single element within the game (somewhat akin to the skill required to locate and make solid contact with an curve ball in the mlb). @gatorsjf Golf is tough on your body and it requires every part of your swing to be precise in order to succeed, but it's not the hardest sport there is. F1 is definitely a lot tougher. One false move and you're in the grass. Plus, you can die in F1 if you wreck your car at those speeds. You can't die in golf.

golf- you hit a circular ball with a stick into a circular hole.
