i can get you all the lights you want i am working in raleigh north carolina doing all of the intersections. i also have the old cross walks that are not together of i can get the new ones that have the count down i have the three section and the 5 section and the 4 section redlights. i have them from 3 feet tall to 5 feet tall take your pic thanks for your time
I have a question, I know there is 3 types of stop lights: the regular ones that you can see, the ones with the panels (or a grate) in them, and ones with a plastic cover over them, but it's REALLY hard to see them unless you're at the right angle (I called them "boogeyman lights" when I was younger, don't ask). My question is, what's the point of those lights (or even the panel ones). It's really hard to see what's going on with them, especially in the daytime?
It mostly has to do with viewing angle and visibility. the grated one and the 'boogeyman lights" (which I assume are the 3m Model 131 traffic signal) only allow a particular view of view to prevent other lanes from misinterpreting that signal is for them.
@deantina As Jim had already mentioned, collecting signals is an actual hobby. I, too, am a traffic signal collector, and, of course, I have my own display in my home. Many collectors appreciate them in general, and signals are nice to watch when they are in full operation. Truthfully, every traffic signal and pedestrian signal that you see has a story behind it. You'd be surprised of what you could learn about them.
@deantina It's a hobby just like collecting street signs(bought legally)and all kinds of signs! Have you ever, in your life, collected traffic lights, street signs, etc?
That was the year of the great Cicadas plague, thankfully they only come out every 17 years. Once they died I had about 3 garbages bags full of dead bugs.
