I 'm listening to your "Crack It Open" Right now & really digging it!. I thought it neat that your piece also starts out w/ chiming plucked strings, and features harmonica.
'Course I've been typing, so now I have to go back & watch the video.
Thank you so much! Janna is indeed female. You can see more of her work by clicking the link in the "About This Video" box >>>
Thanks for noticing the stories within the slideshow. I tried to select and order the pieces in a way that the visual images linked together and/or the titles when read aloud would create a free-verse poem. I did something similar with my friend Diana's abstracts for my composition "A House-Mix Divided".
I can see where you're comin' from. In the context of the play, it dovetailed under dialog... and the meadowlark sounded better in stereo before YT comprssn. 'Tuber LittleMickeyFingers recently posted some tips about uploading stereo; may come in handy in future. Then again, folks can get decent-quality mp3s at my Snocap store. Guess I better upload this one, eh?
I hope to re-visit the whole "Grapes of Wrath" score with acoustic instruments near the near future. I wrote all the bass-lines on a 5-string fretless, but didn't trust my playing on my new instrument enough to record with it.
I checked the Noyes Gallery site (URL in video info); if the info is current, that piece is available for purchase. I also realized I didn't get the complete title (D'oh!): "Look Away: Arabian Purple".
As dog-lover, you should check out my vid "Auld Lang Reggae with Greys" - starring 4 retired racing greyhounds.
Janna certainly knows her horses - and you should see her art up close! There are even more photos in her Gallery Archive (see video info for web URL).
Thanks, JD! I think my next post may be that solo bass version of "Goodbye, Blue Sky" I mentioned to you in passing a while back. I use the same bass that I played on "Dusty Dawn" - the 1st bass I ever bought (1989).
Thank you very much! The hardest part for me was deciding which photos I had to leave out. Visit Janna's gallery archive to see the others (URL is in the video information).
This is a very good example of what can happen when you collaborate! The beautiful art and music joined together with a lovely message! The music is absolutely perfect! The artwork magnificent! Bravo! 5 artistic stars!
Many thanks! I've got a lot of instrumental compositions; now that I have (somewhat limited) software to make MPGs, I'm picking favorites then finding images to go with them. Photos I took were my 1st subjects, then I thought of Janna's art.
Hmmm... I've got a few possibilities in mind. There's another theme I wrote for "Grapes of Wrath" that might be a good choice: "Results, Not Causes." I did 4 versions to underscore different monologues. We'll keep in touch on this. Have your people call my people, yadda-yadda... ;)
Thanks! I had a different piece in mind, but it was only 2-1/2 minutes - not enough time to feature as many pictures as I'd like. I almost made it "all horses" but the dance pieces were too good to leave out - I know YOU understand.

I, too, love horses. I live on a farm and have five of them! And each day it's a joy to see them.
Love the music in this and the artwork (beautiful colours). Five stars and added to my favourites.

Thank you so much! I think I saw some of your horses in "Everything Changes". The colt is especially precious.

very unique, are you a lady painter? i thought they captured a very femanine touch.

ending a little weak, otherwise an excellent joining of two art forms. Very enjoyable to watch.

Nice composition! I like the "Western" flavor the "harmonica' added and the special effects. Fine artwork, too. Horses are awesome!
