Just throwing this out there. What if you made a wind sail out of the panels like venician blinds. When there's no wind you could have them angled up at the sun when using the motor, and down to catch wind? They also have the panels that are flexible with rivet holes for a more traditional sail. Might catch alot of reflection off the water? PS: Nice Job!
These batteries were charged by the solar panels 5 days x 8 hours = 40 hours for weekends to get Toronto Island beach... but the time was G20 and we turned West to Mississauga.
If you build a tie rod across the back of the control heads steering becomes much easier. See my video running twins on my canoe.

All depens on time...
