I had the honor to meet Mr.Barris over the 4th of July weekend at Volo, auto museum in Illinois. Super nice guy. Thanks Mr.Barris for signing my 1/18 scale'66 TV Batmobile Keeping this car for a very very long time.
Dude, get the 1:18 version. It's awesome. Yeah it'll cost you $39 dollars more, but its worth it. I have both the 1:18 and the smaller one you have, they sit side by side on my shelf.
@007InMiami Hot Wheels made the $1 Batmobile, a slightly larger version, and then 1:18 scale models; the $40 car that you mentioned and then the Elite and "Super Elite" versions as well as a chrome-plated version. By now I'm sure you have all of them. I do. I also have a homemade one that is so tiny that if you put it on top of a quarter, all 4 wheels fit on the quarter.
I always wondered about the scarcity of ANY Hotwheels,,including,, Treasure hunts..I noticed, that most would buy all the treasure hunts they find,,whether they like it or not,,just because its a treasure hunt,,I figure u can do that with any model..u hear something is in demand, and u swipe all the examples u find,,,,doesnt that Create a false demand or shortage???? notice on ebay the same seller will have a half dozen "hard to find " cars LOL
I collect a few die-cast cars and batmobiles of any type whenever I can, but I have pretty strict limits as to what I'm willing to pay. I never buy them for their collector's value. I only buy them because I enjoy them on the shelf. That being said, yes, I wish I hadn't sold my Corgi '66 Batmobile at a garage sale in the '70s for 25 cents. Oh well. :)

I prefer the latest Batmobile "The Tumbler," and the 1990s cartoon Batmobile from the animated Batman series. Honestly, I don't think you can go wrong with a Hot Wheels based Batmobile.
I found out that there are two 1966 Hot Wheels Batmobile versions available. There is a smooth grille one, and a textrured grille one. The smooth one is a BIT harder to find if I recall right.
The way Mattel is getting the collectors now is making MANY versions of a car at a given time. Right now there is a HIGH demand for a 2007 New Edition Silver Buick Grand National with chrome interior. Such subtle variations can drive a $1 up to near $50 or MORE.
there are so many examples if this.there are warehouses full of cases that are not in the store yet. Mattel has jumped the shark as far as collectibles.I have been a collector over 25 years. i do know a little. 20 years ago there was atrion kids got the cars and played with them now every body and their brother collect them. so if no one takes them off the card and to top it off they have 10. think what can they be worth.
