:D - ah no other computer but the ZX allowed you to sit through a loading of almost half an hour (okay, it seemed as long as that) only to have the hardware reset back to the beginning again, I kinda miss that, only kinda mind you, it was most frustrating but I never threw anything in temper as I could always rewind the tape and try again. Lol.

@paulpetroleum I am well aware, and I never said it couldn't. You'll note the Spectrum stated it didn't have a speech synthesizer installed, not that one didn't exist at all :)
@Gmoooba I actually have a disk of it for my C64, yes! It's pretty much awesome, I've wanted to review it for a while. I just have no idea when, or if, I'll get around to it.
@phreakindee I see - I am glad you know it, should have known you would. You have probably hundreds (thousands?) of similar "want to review"-titles. Anything you review is of course good. Just in the remote case you didn't know about that game, I wanted to bring it into your attention. Must be hard to choose what to review next.. do you have a process for it or is it based on mood - or just mostly random? Or do you have a complete list sorted by priority?
@Gmoooba It's kind of sorted by priority, but it really does come down to whatever "feels" right that week. Also, games that are seldom, or never, reviewed by others will get priority. And it also depends how much free time I have, as bigger games or hardware reviews take far longer.
Your speech synthesis sounds like it was made by a guy from liverpool. Oh, btw, I got a ZX Spectrum+ yesterday... Only because it was free, because Commodore 64 PWNS! I also got an Atari ST520.
BLOODY HELL! Wicked! what speech synthesizer did you use? I used to do that with my TI-99 speech synthesizer (though I think this speech came from the Spectrum) ...make it talk in different accents, I especially liked to do Southern and BRITISH! you just gotta know how to spell out accents phonetically! "Oi did nawt bloody knaew theht, mayte Gor bloi-mey"
@potatoegirl31 Since I don't have a speech synthesizer for my Spectrum, I had that little bit in there about it being able to take over other computers' sound cards, to "explain" how it was speaking! I just used a text-to-speech site called Festvox.
Also, the "T" in TI is pronounced "tee," but the "Z" in ZX Spectrum is pronounced "zed." Ergo, we see that the Speccy is clearly the superior gaming platform. Give it up and go back to hawking your ridiculous graphing calculators, TI!
lmao Holy crap, this is hilarious. I love this video! Even TI said he admired it. Although I did catch him sharpening his knife, muttering something about getting the ZX...he kept emphasizing the "zee"...saying not only did Texas make the greatest computer of all time, they also produced the greatest rock band ever, and it ain't Zed Zed Top. He's taking a nap now, though, so I think we are all safe.
@niceandgames Awesome, I'm happy to hear of your approval. This was lots of fun to make, and I had great inspiration material!
I feel I need to share that the Spectrum also stated he had respect for both the TI and his delusions of grandeur, but that he was still a "something-something-wanker". He'd also like to pass along to TI that he trained in the Royal Marines, and knives don't scare him so bring it on :)

Link to the Blood'n'Guts-game I mentioned earlier: lemon64 dot com/games/details dot php?ID=304
Just add the usual in the beginning and replace the word 'dot' with actual dots (and of course remove the spaces around that word) in two places.

By the way, did you ever play the C64 game "Blood'n'Guts"? That would be a perfect gamevideo-review-material.. and probably to your liking in style.
