The bassist is Milt Hinton, Oscar Pettiford taking a solo on cello. Oscar was a great bass player who also made numerous recordings on cello. He tuned it in fourths, like a double bass but one octave higher and not like a cello which is tuned in fifths.

このジャケット写真に関しては、ヘレンの歌のイメージと乖離している等昔から否定的な意見がなかったわけではありませんが、まあ人それぞれ好みが違うということで良いのではないでしょうか。

I allso recommend her recordings from 2000. that's where you can find also some nice jazz versions of ballads from her home country (croatia).
