  • Frank Miller has spoken his peace about american's standing up for their rights calling them "louts, theives and rapists" on his website .... BOYCOTT FRANK MILLER!!!

  • @chaoticsjedi What a hypocrite he is !!!!!!

  • @chaoticsjedi Miller is an Artist ,not a politician ! Perhaps he is an Asshole , a lot of Artists are idiots ,thats not the point .

  • People always talk about Watchmen and The Dark Knight Returns how amazing they were, which they are but personally I think Mark Waids and Alex Ross Kingdom Come is a much better read.

The Dark Knight Returns has terrible art IMO and Watchmen was just trying to hard again this is just my opinion.

Frank Millers Batman Year One just got made into an animated movie and now The Dark Knight Returns will be made into animated movie by DC animation.

  • This is garbage. Frank can spank any comic creator & DK strikes back is fucking fantastic. I suggest to turn this garbage off & go buy a Frank comic.

  • Just about any Frank Miller comic is great, his noir is especially good. "Noir Nation" is looking for graphic novels to be published on e-readers. Check them out on Facebook and Youtube.

  • Hey, I don't know about all of you... but I loved All Star Batman and Robin Boy Wonder!

  • What the F@*& Ronin got five oranges!?, How is that possible?

  • @alexandernjstevenson If Batman was real, he'd be like Rorschach.

  • cool!!

  • cool!

  • frank miller is a legend. i would consider that an oxymoron. frank miller is over-rated.

  • I hate Frank's work on Batman

  • Hate Frank

  • I give DareDevil 5 oranges

  • I loved Miller doing Daredevil, Ronin, Dark Knight Returns, Batman Year One (with David Mazzuchelli) and Daredevil Born Again (with Mazzuchelli). I think Born Again is one of the best comic book series I have ever read. When it comes to his newer stuff like Sin City though, it is just too violent for me. Also, his art seems to have changed from being lifelike (more or less) into drawing characters with club-like hands and rougher inking (started in DK when inker was not Jansen)

  • Ah Ronin. I remember being 13 and wondering if I should dish out $2.50 for each issue. Back then, that was HUGE a price for a comic. I had bought #1, immensely loved it, but didn't know where I'd find the funds for subsequent issues. I managed it though. The last issue was super later in being published, but I recall getting it at the comic book store at the AC Fleamarket in Hayward.

  • daredevil with ben afleck really suck we all can agree with that

  • Frank willers work is like a box full pralines. You never know what you'll get. I LOVE year one, The dark knight returns and alot of the Sin City stuff but also hate the dark knight strikes again and the all star Batman and robin series. With the time, his writing gets weirder and weirder XD

  • @StubenhockerElite Yeh All-Star was weird. He seems to have this mean streak now, making characters like Batman seem more and more unlikeable. Some of his characters have a masochistic streak.

  • @da5idnz I don't know what you're getting at mister. Shitheads like Miller had spawned this tendency to make Batman this all-near, flawless perfect asshole who never makes mistakes, while making Justice League lame-ass ducks. They're more unlikeable than the Goddamned Batgod. He made DC Comics look like a joke.

  • @Diakron79

It wasn't Miller's fault. He wrote a 4 issue series about an imaginary Batman from the future. DC are the ones who have made every writer since then adopt his "Universe" as canon. DC could have told him no.

  • @Wally21Joyner How can it not be Miller's fault if he didn't devise BM: DKR? How it not be Miller's fault if he didn't devise DKR 2 or All-Star BM&R? How can it not be Miller's fault for co-planting the virus & let it grow? I didn't say he was the ONLY shithead who stained the American superhero myth--did I? I don't recall I did.

  • Frank Miller said, "I am controlled by my penis."

  • I ve just read Batman:The Dark Night Returns and for me it was the best Batman comic ever made. I ve also read Batman and Robin the boy wonder but they are not as good!

  • @LucendaCohn7

    u r retardedu

u looking for a girl on a video about graphic novels

    ur a dumbass

  • I'm the goddamn Batman!

  • I never knew Miller did anything with DC; hanks for bring that to my attention. I'll have to check that out.

Oh, and dude, I lmao'd @ 1:37 - 1:55, with that parody of "Sin City." Classic!

  • After Year One read Allstar Batman and Robin even though its incomplete, then Dark Night Returns then Dark Knight Strikes Again. thats strictly miller.. The Long Halloween could be read straight after Year One too, although its not done by Frank Miller it is written as a sequel and is also a good comic, after Long Halloween read Dark Victory and then continue on with DK and DK2

  • Comics are cool..

  • i don't like Ronin because the art kind of sucks. for a graphic novel to be great it must have fantastic art and a plot that's able to carry it along. that's why i love Sin City, 300, and Hard Boiled (what i would call Frank's best)

  • @jorghad6, dude, tho, wouldn't it be great movie tho? If they put enough money into the script and special fx? And, of course, the right director.

  • wow you peaple are lame , i wrote frank miller to see what he is geting up 2 because 300 was amazing but to even watch this on youtube.. just shows how fuking geeky you little bitches are.

  • Dark Knight Returns is an unbelievable work of creativity. I bought "Long Halloween" because people were saying it was just as good...whoah, was I disappointed.

  • i recommend Year One if you have not already read it.

  • Yeah, every time I read it I think about putting the cowl back on. I'm a big fan of David Mazzuchelli's work too, I've got his most recent book coming in the post.

  • hey, I'm very interested in Frank Miller's Batman, could you recommend which Batman novels of his I should read in order, besides Year one??? Thx XD

  • @narutofan9tf

if you want the order read year on then all star batman and robin the boy wonder then the dark knight returns and the dark knight strikes again all of them a great

  • @narutofan9tf

    the dark night

  • His most famous collaboration is definitely Year One with Dave Mazzucchelli, not his Martha Washington run. Year One outclasses martha washington in popularity and writing

  • her voice is so fuckin boring

  • Dark knight just good,no perfect

  • IMO, the Dark Knight Returns is the greatest graphic novel of all time, and one day some asshole hollywood director will ruin it. Wouldn't be a Batman beyond without it.

  • DKR is NOT the greatest. I could could name 20 off the top of my head that would top it. It modernized Batman yes, but lacked in it's art and small panels, with a average plot. I don't know why everyone gives it so much praise.

  • Man, everybody has their opinion; most critics think Watchmen is the greatest graphic novel of all time. But for me, it was a hoot and a half watching Batman beat the batshit out of Superman. Doesn't really matter in my life or yours, they're just made up stories to take our minds off of what's really going on in the world.

  • True, i guess It's just whatever was going on in your life at the time. Sandman always had the biggest impact on me.

  • Now you're talking! My favorite series of all time; my cousin wanted me to write a screenplay for it that he could push while living in L.A. I never get tired of the Endless. Too bad the series ended.

  • @theScytheofGod

You don't understand the political and philosophical themes in Watchmen if that's what you think.

If all you want is to look at colourful pictures of people in costumes beating each other up then maybe you should stick to children's comic books.

As for me, I like graphic novels that make you think as well entertain.

I recommend that you don't read V for Vendetta.

    I don't think you'd understand it.

  • @lemonlorry, hey man, I love stories, and I 'm actually writing screenplays now, and quite soon, one of them will be made.

I love Watchmen, and Mr. Moore is the greatest writer of graphic novels ever!

But, everyone's entitled to their opinion.

    God Bless America!

  • I'm not North Korean so I am also aware of the concept of freedom of speech thanks.

  • @theScytheofGod for me,kick-ass,watchmen and sin city are my favourites, thats not saying others are bad.Like you said everybody has their own opinions

  • @theScytheofGod WATCHMEN was a hypersygil to end the Cold War. DKR was a mediocre comic book about repressed desire to cruise with bad art and terrible colors. Sorry :I

  • @enjoypolydor" I don't know why everyone gives it so much praise."

You really need to hear what Darwyn Cooke & Alan Moore has to say about that.

  • I liked all star batman and robin. :)

  • Pretty good dead review of a once great comic book writer/artist that's a parody of himself today.

  • this host is cute, for a lesbian

  • robocop vs terminator is one of my all time favorite frank miller book

  • Big Guy and Rust the Boy ROBOT. Not 'Warrior'.

    Great review.

  • i thought the twilight zone gold key comics were his first work

  • "Madness? ..THIS IS FRANK MILLER!" ROFTLMAO

  • Not to be a nag or whatever, but it annoys me when people say "comics". I prefer them to be called "graphic novels".

  • Not all comics are graphic novels, so why would anyone do that?

It annoys me when people call comics graphic novels when they are not graphic novels.

  • why?

  • I was referring to stuff like Miller's work and Moore's work. Sorry, didnt elaborate.

But I dont know why, mogoya.

  • comics and graphic novels r two different things sin city is a graphic novel and Big Guy & Rusty is a comic just saying

  • ALL STAR is much better than DKII

  • my freinds and i r considering making a graphic novel for fun. i know it will never be as great as franks comics but if anyone wants to know the story please let me know. its pretty good

  • I am the prodigal sun of the church of Frank Miller.

I declare his run of REBORN on Daredevil his greatest work.

No dissing the Dark Knight 2.

It's brilliant. Over your heads and not in a crappy Alan Moore and the Black Dossier kinda way.

  • I really need to read all star batman cause I've heard mixed reviews from 'it's blasphemy' to 'it's atchully subtly very good'. Does anyone have an opinion on it?

  • my take on it: frank miller can do no wrong.. except on the spirit movie.. THAT was wrong.

  • i can understand why not alot of people liked the spirit but i actually really enjoyed it

  • it was too erratic. frank miller was trying to be gritty, serious, and funny all at the same time but it just didn't work. it was too 'sin city' and not enough 'spirit' and just didn't turn out right.

the visuals were nice, but cinematic storytelling is different from graphic novel story telling. that's where he fell a bit short.

  • @96dnibrats I second this completely :D

  • @96dnibrats What about the fact that he can only write woman as things to be oggled other

  • @Optimist117 not every story is supposed to appeal to readers of all ages. i'm sure he writes what he knows/thinks is most appealing to his target demographic.

  • @96dnibrats totally agreed : I remember when I paid to see this movie on a screen (this only shows what a total bozo I was at this time), I wanted to ask the cashier to get my money back. The only movie I ever saw (with "Burn after reading") I consider a total rip-off. F.M sucked big time here...

  • wow he was behind big guy and rusty miller is a bigger part of our culture than I thought.

  • I grew up with Miller on his Daredevil run. TDKR was a good run but his highlight was Year One. I think over the years, he's become a sellout, going Hollywood and I have absolutely no problem wiht that. However he has made sme very racist remarks and if you think I am crying sour grapes, read the coments made by fellow writers in the industry Grant Morrison and Alan Moore. Moore said 300 was homophobic, racist and utterly stupid. Morrison dissed him for his take on Batman fighting terrorists.

  • Let me guess

    -Young

    -Feminist

    -Not from the states

    Am I right?

  • you're right about the not from states part. I'm not a feminist, although I do respect equality between the sexes :D

  • haha, oké

  • i agree. frank miller is just a sad cliché. soon enough, he'll join rob liefeld. yay.

  • Alan and Neil are better writers, but that's just Frank's way of writing; his style. You can't really blame him. He rocks, but his audience is a bit mixed.

  • great presenter and great pace in reviewing..so pro!! Frank Miller roxx

  • Frank's a bit out on the weird side...at least he teamed up with Darrow and gave us Big Guy.

  • Can't say that the chica on this is very enthusiastic about Frank Miller... oh and the friggin lil skit things..well..lets just say...I want to kill

  • Wow, they didn't even mention Batman Year One.

  • Quite so. One of Miller's best!

  • my thoughts exactly, by far the best batman comic to date (if a little short)

  • They didn't mention Batman: Year One because it's a comic most are familiar with in the comic's world. They wanted to review his lesser known classic.

  • Hey yeah, forgot bout that one :S

  • I would guess that it's a play on "A Clockwork Orange."

  • What is the name of the woman who is hosting?

This is cool nerd food. How did not discover it before :-p?!

  • I can't help it anything Frank does I'm there. Never has anyone influenced POP cuture as Frank has. With out Frank there are No Batman movies , actually no superhero movies from the 90's on. Never has there been a more creative , grittier writer / artist ever.

  • I love the Dark Knight Returns it´s one of the greatest graphic novels ever. But i always wonder why is it that many people don´t recognize the Born Again storyline as one of Miller´s greatest? i mean, it´s one of the greatest storylines Daredevil has. It´s an amazing story, i just love it as well but not many people talk about it. Why?

  • I agree it is my favorite work from Miller, they dont toalk so much about it , because Daredevil is asecond rate character, It doesnt make a difference that Miller s first run on the title was also astounding, nor that after him artists such as Ann Nocenti,or Bendis made grat storylines, he is a second rate character, batman is an Icon , whatever you do with him has a deeper impact.

  • hey that dude from "the stack" ad was in a movie entitled "Young People Fucking"... he got butt raped by his wife.

  • people dis on frank's new work because they dont get it.

  • Batman The Dark Knight Returns is the best Batman Story I think. My opinion is That Frank Miller actually works better at DC Than Marvel, although Marvel is a great place to work at. But i'd work for DC Comics.

Including Batman The Killing Joke Written By Great DC Comic writer Alan Moore.

Thank you Bob Kane for creating such an amazing character For the DC Universe. still working on the Dark Knight Returns Screenplay with my friends. Hoping to be finished in a couple of weeks.

  • quick correction...its rusty the boy robot, not warrior...and if you guys can find copies of give me liberty or martha washington goes to war...grab em...they are great

  • hahhaah i use to watch that show when i was a kid ,big guy and rusty lmao!!, I had no idea frank miller created that.

  • /slaps host over the head with a english dictionary

  • you guys losers

  • I like the stack but I hate this comicbook orange crap

  • That pose she did for DKR was uh-mazing! LOL at the Sin City one.

  • Daredevil & Electra with Miller at the helm is the golden era of comics for me.

  • Excelent, I loved how you not only featured the comics that he started with but also showed his lesser known comics. Frank Miller is a genious.

  • Frank Miller did the lone wolf and cub front cover artwork but bill sienkiewicz lone wolf cover artwork is better ;)

  • 2:40 to 2:58 wasnt necessary at all. unless pulp secret is apart of g4 its really copying g4s parodies. I mean who hasnt seen a 300 parody yet? but i hate g4 so yeah

  • Agreed

  • Why is this -6 when it's probably true?

  • Because it's not.

  • Why can't you have "Ninja Turtles without Electra"????

  • The hit franchise Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) originally was intended to satirize the characterizations of ninja in the Western comics, primarily drawing on the fictionalized representations created by Frank Miller in the Marvel Universe comics.

    From Wikipedia.

  • your comment sux

  • I agree.

  • i'm 34 years old and i've read a lot of books but nothing hit me quite like reading "The Dark Knight Returns" when i was 17. So good.

  • I think you should put down ALL Frank Miller work and go read everything by Alan Moore.

  • Agreed! Allan Moore is AMAZING.

  • but not the best. I believe that Frank Miller and Wiill Eisner are the American staple heads of comics while Alan Moore is great and all and yes the Watchmen was a classic but i have to say Neil Gaiman far surpasses him in the fat that he has accomplished so much in such a short time (abot a decade). Frank Miller is awesome, Neil Gaiman is a genius, and alan Moore is just good.

  • just watched that alan moore documentary, the mindsacpe of alan moore, and he is just a hairy weed smoking bum who does nothing but rant about cults and magic

he talks about comics for 15mins and then says how pissed off he was that doing what he enjoyed doing made him money and starts going off about bullshit

and i hate the way he is bitching and moaning about the watchmen film, saying how he isn't going to watch it and doesn't want his name associated with it at all

    hes a bitchy little tramp

  • Is because Hollywood has raped his work in past movies. League of Extrardinary Gentleman is a pathetic attempt of an acction movie and V for Vendetta is just a social critique from a country who didn't had the balls to set it in their own turf. Vendetta was about Anarchy and they made it into Family Guy with better arguments.

  • i consider "Born Again" to be the ULTIMATE Frank Miller´s Daredevil, i think he was good untill lately, Sin City and 300 were good stories for me (simply good)and Year One i think is another great story done by this man. He reimagined Batman´s origin like few would have done.

  • i luv this vid for some reason but whenever i see the 300 skit i laugh so hard

  • i take that back and frank millers sin city and 300 rule

  • Frank Miller and Ninjas go hand and hand and I for one LOVE IT.

  • variant edtion is better

  • Its like what Casey says about Miller heavily influencing The Batman genre with the Dark Knight Returns series. Its not the first time a writer/artist came in to redefine a character.

  • Wait a minute....Frank Miller did Batman i thought it was Bob Kane

  • well bob kane is credited frank miller just reimagined the charecter if you wanna get technical bill finger created batman but got screwed cuz kane was an ass

  • hey

his new stuff isint THAT bad

    jeez

  • the girl mite be hot, but she has no idea wat she's talkn about

  • Asking for a cute girl to know all that about Frank Miller is asking a lot...

  • Hey hey now shes hot and she probley reads a hell of alot more comics than you guys. Lay off man.

  • I find your lack of taste in women... disturbing.

  • It's pretty obvious she's clueless if you watch the other shows.

  • Na I watch Pulp Secret. Never watched this stuff even when it was on. Only a episode or two.

  • How in the HELL do they do a thing about his older work and not mention the 1982 Wolverine mini-series? I am dumbfounded. Anyone who collected Marvel back then or since knows the significance of that. Issue #1 is one of the top 3 Wolverine covers of all time and the Claremont story was significant in divulging some backstory to a very secretive and mysterious character. One of the best and most important mini-series of all time.

  • Seconded!

  • third!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hey I'm answering for that artist position and I am interested. How do we do this?

  • lol...what are you trying to say?

  • Allan Moore and Frank Miller are the best, everyone else isnt!

  • whats the theme song called????

  • I actually like "The Dark Knight Strikes Again". It's got a cartoony style that really appeals to me. I like Frank Miller's work.

  • Why hasn't Big Guy & Rusty been made into a Movie yet? That would own.

  • Frank Miller makes thinly veiled NAZI propaganda. It's a sad statement on how truly shitty north american comics are that this loser is among our best.

  • Are U serious? Frank Miller is one of the world's best comic book creators. His works are better than any anime that ever came to the states. And he's not a nazi, if he was, why would he make fuckin martha washington?

  • ur a dip-shit dude! he's not a nazi, like that 1 guy said if he was y would he make martha washington? and y would he do an interview with will eisner?

  • ARTIST NEEDED!

  • is the host the girl from stanley's who wants to be a superhearo season 1 as monkey-girl?

  • No, I don't think it is Mary Votava a.k.a Monkey Woman.

  • what channel was this broadcast?

  • she is hot

  • Could be so much more...

  • Dude, just stop. I completely dig ur trying to spread ur religion and wut not, but ur coming off as the biggest asshole and giving u and ur people a bad name. this is not how u do it.

  • uh.... NERDS !

  • god this is retarded

  • I love the 300 spoof!

  • Why does Frank Miller always have those overtures to nazism and the national socialist version of history in his work?

  • I don't know, but I want to bone that chick.

  • dude who gives a damn?! i hate nazis but he seems to make it work in his books. and he is no nazi!

  • lol @ arygirolamo with his "amercicans speak funny", she is from Canada, and not just ANY part of canada, montreal, about as NON-American you can get in canada, muahhahaa

  • nice package?

  • How come the 'favorites' setting is so different on this post??

  • I hear Frank Miller is doing a nother Batman book, this time Batman fights BinLaden. Really.

  • "Holy Terror, Batman!" was what it was originally gonna be called, although they might have changed it since.

Batman takes on Al-Qaeda and gives them an old-fashioned ass-kicking ... just like the 1940s when Batman used to clobber the Nazis.

  • I've met Frank Miller twice and he's really nice in-person; some famous comic book creators get all snooty and seem to forget who made them famous, but Frank was still VERY nice to his fans.

  • Frank Miller has always been a cool dude, even when he was young and famous in the 80s. Most other comic book stars tend to have less talent and more attitude, but Miller has always been a class act.

  • It's the reason he's so good at his job: He listens to his Fans.

  • <
