@cardude024 Yes it is a very good deer and hog rifle but some states require that you use a 5 roung mag to be with in the law!!! but i know many people who use them for that!!!!!!

Is there really a diff between the M14, Mk 14, and the M1A? I just wanna know cuz I love the M14

@99thJediWarrior M-14 is military version. M1A civilian version, Mk-14 is military shortend barel and a few modern upgrades. etc

@99thJediWarrior a ruger mini 30 is a basic carbine version of a m1a. a mini 14 is a .223 the mini 30 is a closer match to a m1a carbine.

Who needs ( civilian) to shoot over 300 yards? Short barrel a non issue.

I have a SocomII , the best scope is a luepold scout , after that 300 yards is no problem to hit accuratlyat pop can.

Putting this in the hands of a 13 year old with tons of expirience, and able to take alot of recoil, how much would the buttstock push him back?

Great vid. Just bought one a week ago and love it. I'm putting on a VLTOR mod stock.

I have had it out to 100 yards with iron sights with very good accuracy. With a scope, my guess would be 200-300 yards with decent degree of accuracy. Ballistically, the 308 round is good to 400+ yards, but you lose some of that with the shorter barrel. If you get an M1a with a longer barrel, you will have better long range accuracy with a scope.
