  • Im 13. Born and raised in the south. I found out about all these cool country singers from a commercial. Just goes to show, country has no age limit.

  • this is as good as it gets folks!! webb pierce one of the finest men in country music always and forever!! his music never gets old it just gets better!! i LOVE IT!!

  • the good stuff !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • OK SO I LOVE THE OLD STUFF, GREW UP ON THIS STUFF AND WOULDN'T CHANGE A THING. AND SOMETIMES I WOULDN'T MIND GOING BACK TO THOSE TIMES FOR JUST A LITTLE WHILE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Back when country music was good and it was stil country....

  • And the waitress said: "Why Mel Tillis, I ain´t never seed nobody like you".

And I said to Webb (Pierce) "Boy, that´s a great title for a song !"

And Webb said: "Son, I´ll give you a hundred dollars, if you write that song".

And I said "Okay". And he did. And I went next door to have a haircut,

    and I wrote this song: "I ain´t never......" (1958)

MEL TILLIS TALKING ABOUT WRITING THE SONG:

SOURCE: THE 50 YEAR HISTORY OF COUNTRY MUSIC

Narrated by HUGH CHERRY 1972. (From my memory).

  • Back in early 60's he had a record on the jukebox named "Unwanted Unloved" I wore it out putting dimes in playing that tune

  • REAL COUNTRY HONKY TONK...... NO BULLSHIT HERE!!!!!

  • You have no idea how long this tune has been floating around in my head.

I can't believe how young Webb Pierce looks in this picture.

The year this came out was my junior year in high school.

    That dates me LOL!!

    Thanks for the memory!

  • im only 13 and i love this song!

  • @mustang16Boo because this is real Music.....enjoy it.

  • A big hit for webb in 1959

  • One of my mother's favorite singers! Never heard this tune before though! Thanks for posting and sharing it! It's terrific!!!

  • I wanna hear new music just like this song!

  • pickin...yeah dude, i know that was ray´s beef, but still think he was a douche for doing what he did. never have like stevens has artist neither.

  • And I really like it!!!!

  • great song

  • cant believe ray stevens sued him over his guitar shaped swimming pool, what a douchebag. was just jealous cause he had no talent nor style compared to webb

  • No--Ray Stevens' case was about invasion of privacy. Ray wasn't too crazy about the busloads of Webb's fans running all over (Ray's) adjoining property; whereas Webb welcomed them, and would be out there signing autographs and taking pictures with them.

  • Fogerty song good cover on this song his Blue ridge ranger-album

  • Anybody have "No love have I" by Webb?

Charted early sixties, written by Mel Tillis.

    Would appreciate the upload!

  • Honeybee loves the Honey

    Chickadee loves the sky

    Everybody loves somebody

    But no love have I.

I've had the 45 for 50 years but no way to upload. Sorry. I know that just reading the lyrics doesn't cut it. I,too, hope someone uploads it.

  • i've spent the past hour listening. great collection. have you webb's faded love? hard to find. had to copy it from vynal. comments.

  • webb is my favorite singer. period. i've just spent the past hour lisening to your exceptional collection. my no. 1 is hard to find. faded love has been done by many artists. wp did it,too. i had to copy it from vynal. comment.

  • As a youngster in the early 1970's while my friends were listing to the Osmond's and such. I had the pleasure to have my parents 45rpm record collection to listen to.

This was one of my favorites. Along with many more such as Ben E King, Jackie Wilson, Marty Robbins, The Coasters, and even Walter Brennan's Old Rivers, plus many more. My teenage daughter now has the collection. Thanks, for the memories !

  • Shakin' Stevens probably copied Pierce. Webb Pierce was a country genius! Thanx fur sharin'!

  • Shakin' Stevens does a great version of this at gigs. This is a great track

  • Good Tunes!

  • Little Richard covered this for "The Imus Ranch Record" The best version I have heard.

I think there is a sample on Amazon of Little Richard's version plug in Imus Ranch Record.

  • John Fogerty did a fine cover of this song on his first post-Creedence album 'Blue Ridge Rangers', check it out.

  • I think that line in the lyrics is "You got me a-livin' in a HAUNTED dream..." instead of honey dream.

  • This is country!!!!!!!

  • It's country. But it's just rockin' enough to have been Webb's biggest charting Pop crossover hit.

  • I love it and the song!!

  • one of the best country song's ever made. thank goodness i have it on a 33 & 45

  • This song was written by Mel Tillis!

  • classic, love it !!!

  • great stuff !

    tks

  • This one favorite Webb's songs!! Thanks for posting it!!

  • Webb Pierce was very popular when I was growing up, so was this song. Thanks

  • Webb was the most succesful country artist of the '50s, though if Hank Williams hadn't died...

    Great song!

  • Even the 'Hound' in Buffalo N.Y.. an R & B disc jockey used to play a song he recorded called Honky Tonkin'(Honky tonkin', all night long, honky tonkin', my money's all gone)etc.

  • Entered the Top 40 on August 31,1959..got as high as # 24...stayed in the Top 40 for 7 weeks.

  • It should have been #1.

  • Webb..... one of the most overlooked greats of country music. You are cool just for digging Webb!

  • Great oldie! I would have liked to see more pictures in your video but I love the song!

    Brings back memories. Thanks Alan!
