  • arrange marriages = superficial marriage. marriage based on how the other person looks. discarding the nature.

  • @videopostman No the two people get to know each other by talking to them and it's most likely that the family of the two getting married are very close friends.Parents won't give their daughter up just to anyone if they didn't trust them and if they didn't have a job and weren't stable, but honestly I hate the idea of arranged marriages for myself. People should have a right to choose what kind of marriage they want, arranged or love. I hate the parents that force it on their children.

  • Actually arranged marriages are a western thing too in the not to distant past...

  • lmao!!!

  • That has to be one of my favorite videos yet

  • soo true :D

  • My parents were arranged and they have been married for 20 years. Arranged marriages only work in Indian society or a society where there is a tight-knit community. Everyone looks out for one another. In Western society it's very individual, you're on your own. There is little external factors guiding your marriage (in India if you cheat - someone in the community will find out). But that kind of life can be contricting. It's not that one is better than the other, just different.

  • My parents are from Northern Ireland, and their parents made them get married.

Arranged marriages happen all over the world in every culture. In Ireland, marriages used to be arranged based on religion. It's not like that anymore, but it still happens sometimes.

  • Really? I didn't know arranged marriages happened in Northern Ireland. I know it used to happen in the "old" days in Europe according to caste (i.e. royalty keeping the royal blood within the family). But does arranged marriage still go on there today?

  • Not anymore. It had a lot to do with Catholics avoiding marrying Protestants. So, parents would make the choice to avoid conflict.

  • Yes, lovely story... when it works out. I strongly disagree with HAVING to marry this way in this culture and many others; otherwise, you are disowned by your own family. I believe in marrying because you are actually IN LOVE, not hoping it might happen someday.

Although this is an interesting concept...

  • for future videos - the music in the background was a bit too loud. it made both people hard to hear. other than that- cool video

  • Hmm maybe arranged marriges are better then falling in love first... something to think about.

  • My parents are arranged, and they are going 25 years strong. Divorce is never considred, looked at....its looked down.

  • Nothing really wrong with the single life, I'm 27 and I enjoy it.

  • I think I would like to meet liz, she seems pretty cool.
